Hey guys! Ok here are my firt 2 models EVER in 3dsmax...

First one is a m4a1 (4600 polys)

Second a SOPMOD (16100 polys ouch) :D

Don`t talk to me about the polys, I didn`t care... :-"

The goal was to do something as detailed as possible and see how it was running on my PC...Runs smooth baby... :thumbsup:

Here we go :

All I have to say is WOW!!! Those are some very nice models if I do say so myself. You say these are your first models ever :o !!!!! How long did they take?

And yes, IMO textures are the most important part of a model, and you got it right on the nose.

Now, are you going to release those weapons or maybe join a modding team with your skills?

Well actually the first one took me one night, 4 coffees and 23 cigarettes ;):lol: (something like 15 hours...)

The second one was a bit tougher because all the parts were on separate pictures, I only had a small pic of the gun...Photoshop magic...Took me 2 nights, more coffee and cigs...Made all the parts separatly then merged them together, resized some. TA DAA!...And then got some sleep a little... :lol:

All I have to say is Pain`s video tutorials are awesome, I learned everything so fast actually I can`t believe it myself... :blink:

As for releasing a mod, I am still thinking about it, the amount of polygons that will be it this "future mod" will be high, believe me :rocky: Depends maybe on the feedback and requests... Also I`m on 56k so...

I`m open to any suggestions or offers, but also I`m the founder of a clan in my home place and actually I`m teaching my buddies right now so we get to it together and create a HIGH DETAIL WHO CARES ABOUT THE POLYGONS MOD for our clan, since we all can afford it with our pc`s... I already made a couple`skins and now I would like to create some maps, but I found very little tutorials for mapping so it will be like learning on the spot...!

We`ll see...

Anyways thanks for your comments man really appreciated :thumbsup:

I had pictures of the fist gun but not with a muzzle flash...I checked many other pics and then added the one I though was well fitted to it...

As for the second gun, I only had a very small picture of it...So, as I said earlier, I modeled every part separatly and merged them together...

Just wondering if the sopmod (second one) could be a airsoft gun though, but still very happy with the results... :shifty:

What do you think guys??

Hey Ruin thanks anyways man... :thumbsup:

No problem. :D

The guns look good. The textures aren't bad, but could use some touchups (nothing big). Just a few troubled spots on the texturing of the gun.

For your first attempt though, VERY impressive. :D

I'll also suggest that you render with a white or light grey background, it makes the gun stand out more than black does.

GJ man!

@Projectile :

First person view would be great...Would be like...Raven Recon! :P

Any idea how tough?? If you guys can give me hints on how to achieve this, (if doable...) I`m gonna try it, you bet!

Besides that, I like high detailed guns and all since we play lot of coop here and I think it adds to the realism of the game...(IMO)

I`ve tried yesterday to play with the holsterpoint, and from what I`ve seen so far, I can only have it hanging in the back of the characters...

Is it possible to have it on the chest? (I still have some testing to do tough...)

@Ruin:

Yes I know for the rendering...Was too exited, didn`t take the time to make a clean render...Future ones will be better, promised! :thumbsup: And for the textures, some parts I had only small pics of so...best I could do (right now»»still learning...!) ;) Maybe you can tell me what parts on wich gun you think could be improved and I`ll see what I can do?

Thanks guys!!
