Anybody know of a good mod to make friendly A.I. more intelligent?

Yes I have such a mod. It works for IT, as well as original GR and Desert Seige -- IF you have IT installed and active, download it here. All 'normal' (i.e. not specialists) AI have had their points boosted to 8 (maximum) and armour to 4 (also maximum). This makes an amazing difference in their survivability and general effectiveness. You now have elite soldiers!

This is not an installer. You unzip it preserving subdirectories by right-clicking on it and selecting "Unzip to folder [wherever it is on your hard drive]/Actor".

Then you replace the "Actor" folder in your "Mods/mp2" [island Thunder] installation with it. You may want to back up the original "Actor" folder first, in case you need to go back. This is not a publicly-distributed mod, and I don't support it. Use at your own risk.

Note that it will not affect some mods like Alfa's realism mod where the Actors are defined in the mod and override other mods.

Also, it has no effect in multiplayer.

Oh and women don`t carry heavy machine guns and are not trained specifical in using such weapons.

The only places where a woman is prefferable  is Recon and  Fighter Jet Pilots.

There is a big problem with female jet fighter pilots. The fighters of today are built to be flown by men. The cockpits life support systems such as ejection seats are designed to accomodate about 90%. Unfortunately only about 40% of the female poulation are long enough to meet the requirements, when taking into account height (standing and sitting), weight and center of mass. These factors are imortant to ensure a safe ejection. (Which is important as the pilot is harder to replace than the plane.)

With the new generation fighters such as the F22 and JSF the cockpits will be made to accomodate a larger percentile of the female population as well. But the problem is that this may result in that a large part of the male population may be cut out instead.

I know that woman pilots support higher G`s more easly than man.

I have heard and read otherwise in an article from Jane's where it is clearly stated that this is not true. :blink:

In the early 1990's US Airforce made a test of G tolerance of 102 women and 139 men. Unpaired T-tests was made on the datasample and it was found that there were no significant difference between men and women in either relaxed or straining G-Tolerance. Covariance analysis on the test sample showed that women have a slightly lower tolerance to high G. This may be because height and weight both impact G-tolearance (Height negaively and weight positively) and well trained women mostly weigh less than well trained men.

Alpha, I 100% agree....

I just thought that endurance = nb of bullet you can endure.

I don't know if there are 2 fields to set the stamina/speed and the resistance....

I just say that normaly a woman can endure hurting as well than men....

About the sport/recruiting. You notice that the women score increase faster this last 10 years than the men ones ? i talk about graphics.

I mean we start competition far later than men. So we benefit of technic than the men didn't use at the beginning. But our scores are still far less than you own.

Our progress are nice. And the scientists think that in some sports (where muscle is not the only key) whe can get same results in many years.... Just an information.

But I'm totaly ok about the heavy machine gun etc..... We can't run as long and as far than you with an M60 or a Barrett.....

Just for fun : I went to holydays with friends. I did a "randonée" (its when you walk many days). We walk on a montain in Italia calld "Viso". After the first day all the men but one were dead on the floor .... For all the rest of the week we were 1 hour in front of them. When we did a pause waiting for them, we wait 60 minutes on the boundary of the lake to see them arrive. Then, as when you stop an activity at 3000m altitude, your body start to becomes cold. So we continue to walk when they just arrive at our waypoint. They were really angree.... heeheehee

All we can remember of that is that on the evening in the tent, the men were not very "operational" for all of this week ..... heeheehee

Okay... I'm really pushed to see your mod. It sounds really nice.

That weight carrying problem is why not even armys that have females in their raks from WW2 like the Russian army don`t train and use womens in Support Machineguns and Heavy Sniper weapons but more in the fields of Recon.

And womans have not made it in Special Forces in most of the World.

To operate a support wepon it is desiarbly/better to have a man of bigger than average weight and strenght see only Osadze and Munz from GR.

Maybe those man`s were not used to the thin air you have at high altitude

BTW Alfa. I can't use your jungle specialists in quick mission. I can use the Desert ones.

I have copied the unlockedheroes.xml into c_unlockedhero.xml and d_unlockedhero.xml and added the d_ or c_ prefix. This works for DS but not IT. Any suggestions?

I still think it is great though.

In your rifleman tactics you mention taking Gordon up to 8 points in leadership. However anything past 6 is useless. This is due to every 3 points upgrade the others.

No the skins for jungle that are only for Galinsky and Osadze are availeble only in campaign.

I don`t have 3DSMAX so i coudn`t modifie the models for the rest of operatives because of the need to modifie the hands to have the sleevs up and remove the hats of Osadze and Ibrahim to add boonie hats.

I really think that one point of leadership is a increase of 1/3 points for all the others in the squad.

I can`t belive that RSE did such a mistake as to have 2 points(fields) usless.

I don't mind if they don't have boonies and rolled up sleeves.

I think you might be right with the leadership points. I'll have to check but my manual is lost. :(:blink:

in teh manual i think it sais just that for 3 points of leadership you get a 1 point increase for all the members in you team.

Divide 1 by 3 and you get 0.33 point increase for every Leadership point and the 8 points max for leadership i think is for Gameplay Ballance a 2.6 point increase for 8 points of leadership is more fair than a 3 points increase.

Again i don`t think RSE made a mistake.

While your sniper mods are realistic for individual shots, at different targets in differing locations, if I am shooting at a number of people in the same area, they are totally unrealistic. Wind will be the same, or close enough, as will bullet drop if they are withing +/- 20 yards.

You can`t simulate that in Ghost Recon wich btw it is a Game ;)

My point is why bring Riflemans and Support when you have snipers, complete a mission using one sniper make 39 kills and then go back to playing Counter Strike that is not my vision of GHOST RECON.

You need to balance Realsim and Gameply because this is not a SIMULATION.

This is what Ghost Recon is about : teamplay (even when you play alone) :)

A sniper can be as stealth as hell, but encountering 10 or more enemies, it needs support.

This way you can use the tactic: kill an enemy with sniper so that rest of enemy-team walks right in line of fire of your support team.

As for MP, when being a sniper, you really depend on your teammates, but not everyone takes teamplay in consideration. :(

in Single Player with no mods the game is not about TEAMPLAY is about making 20+ kills using only a sniper.

That's the way lot of people play, but it's not reality (just an opinion :) )

It is like Hitman 2 or No One Lives Forever 2 if you try very hard you can make this games into something of tactical/stealth shooter.

I`ve tried and finished the Ghost Recon original campaign when i was unexperienced in the Delta Force style and it worked on veteran and not on elite

Then when i refined my tactics and knowledge i began plaing more tactical to force a feeling in the game on Elite but i had at the begining much frustration for this i began work on my mods and i have woreked on tehm more than played the game.

But compaerd to Delta Foce 1 and 2 and Operation Flashpoint , Ghost Recon dosn`t come near as feeling.

Multiplayer i rather play Delta Force or Medal Of Honor they are more fun.

In conclusion Ghost Recon is Realistic but not a game to keep you hours in front of the PC.

I disagree with this.

I haven't played much else for months. :blink:

I don't often buy games so I might not be fully qualified to say this.

But congrats on a brilliant addition.

Alfa - even though WinRAR compresses better than Winzip, I recommend using the most popular one, otherwise you are causing trouble for your customers...

Even better is if you use the Clickteam Installmaker, so that it's a self-installing executable, then anybody can install without 3rd party software.
