Shinobi 0
I've been changing some characteristics for my sniper-weapons so that they are for example sound-depressed(really simple, no actual modding). It's worked for me before, but ever since I reinstalled the game it hasn't been working anymore. Anyone who can help? Shinobi
blakarion. 0
Is that by changing the figure from 0 to 1 on <Silenced> ? If it is then it will work BUT also against other players you need to change the sound file ALSO for both need to alter the Rolloff value down in the Sound Editor in Igor. AL least I think it will work like this anyway (way works for me)
snowpilot 0
Follow blackarion's advice. Changing the sound file is a royal pain, but it does add to the effects of changing the suppressed toggle. Also, when u reinstalled the game, the changes may have been lost. Shinobi 0
thanks, both. I can't change anything in Igor, seeing as I don't use it.... (Mac-user) Yes I change the silenced from 0 to 1, and I change the sound of the gun to one of the suppressed weapons' sounds. But the game just gives me another sniper rifle each time I try to use the modified ones......
blakarion. 0
Ahh... Mac-User - is their no Igor in the Mac version of GR - surely not ! You poor, poor man if that is the case !! Anyway, I dont use Igor for changing weapon stat's anyway - try opening up as a .txt (or Mac equiv) and change it that way. "But the game just gives me another sniper rifle each time I try to use the modified ones...... " - Sure you got the names right etc ?????
Shinobi 0
The names are correct, yes... I really don't understand what's wrong, 'cos it's worked for me before!
blakarion. 0
Not sure then - can u e-mail me the files and I can have a look OR let me know what u want and Ill have ago myself PS sure thje .kil file is set up for your new weapon kit ?
Shinobi 0
PS sure thje .kil file is set up for your new weapon kit ? What file is that? Never seen it before... All I wanted was a silenced sniper rifle with an MP5SD as a sidearm..... I don't care about the kit textures in the menu, just as long as the guns work - which they have done before..... blakarion. 0
The .Kil file tells GR what weapon kits are to be avail when that particular kit-restriction type is chosen. If you havent added your Kit to that file, then it will not show up. Do you know if the PC and Mac versions of GR handle this differently ? (I dont - but I guess not). Otherwise I would need to see the files to know whats going on - just trying to help m8.
Shinobi 0
I found the .kil files. Which one should I change? I've added my kit to the no restrictions file and it still doesn't work... Do I have to do anything with the ModsContent text file, maybe
blakarion. 0
If you have added it to the no_restrictions.kil file, then it will be availiable for use in the MP section. (Getting the kit into SP is a bit more evolved.) The ModContents text file is not used for the Kits, its used to let the GR engine know the name etc of the Mod itself. Shinobi 0
Do you know how to get it into SP, then?
Militiaman 0
I've been changing some characteristics for my sniper-weapons so that they are for example sound-depressed(really simple, no actual modding). Firearms that are silenced are actually called "sound suppressed" weapons. Macintosh computers I hear are good. Too bad they don't write much software for them like Igor. Shinobi 0
Firearms that are silenced are actually called "sound suppressed" weapons. You know, I knew that. I guess I'm just so depressed myself because of these damn files....
