H-Hour 0
So I finally made it through Schell's map tutorial and got my map to load up in-game. Very helpful. I think, though, that I must have messed up the portal or something, because when I try to move through the doorway I get stuck on something invisible. If I keep running forward and moving slightly left and right I can eventually make it through the doorway, but I haven't noticed any pattern to when I do make it through (ie - left side, right side, crouching, standing, it all works and doesn't work just the same). I took an AI guy and gave him a path into the other room and he ran straight through no problem. Anybody know what I did wrong? Thanks.
deleyt 0
You probably have forgotten to tag the corridor-groundsurface between the two rooms as a floor. Tag it as a floor and hopefully that will solve your problem. EDIT: ah...failed to see your AI test. If the floorpolygon was missing, your AI wouldn't walk to the other room at all. OSO 0
You've got a sticky edge somewhere. It probably happened with a boolean operation. Look at it in IGOR and you'll see a blue line where the problem is. Then look at a wireframe view in max to try to locate it. You may have to delete something and re-add it later. I've had some that I could never get rid of in which case you'll have to start over. In order to have a clean boolean operation make sure that you are working with closed meshes. Things tend to get fuxored when they aren't.

H-Hour 0
In order to have a clean boolean operation make sure that you are working with closed meshes. The boolean operation was definitely the part I had the most trouble with in the tutorial (can't even count how many times I had to start over). Anyway, what exactly do you mean by "closed meshes"? Sorry, I'm new to 3dsm. edit- Oh, and thanks for your answers so far. I'm going to fool around with it and see what I can come up with.
