falcone_sg 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Share Posted November 6, 2003 hi guys... this is my first time posting in the GR forums, but i have been following the forum for a long time alreadi and to all the great modders all there, THANKS! so anyway, i just sort of started trying out modelling and i got stuck at one fundamental... how do i apply textures in 3d smax 4? nv seem to be able to find a tut or anithing on the net on that... and can't understand the bit about materials in the smax help file... help guys? JTF-2 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Share Posted November 6, 2003 That looks low polly already, but once you start modelling more detail you might want to try using the "n-gon" shape instead of the oval and cylinders. Cylinders have 20? sides or something like that. N-gon's can have as many sides as you want. About 5-8 is usually a good number. gj, though. Post your progress.
