deleyt
Yup. They are NURBS, and not made by hand but scanned from a 3D scaled claymodel with a 3D-digitizer. (like you see alot in the car-industry) Edited December 2, 2003 by |rsi|â„¢deleyt
projectile
Some other program that people used for detail and acuray design are Uni-Graphics Silicon Graphics 2D/3D CADCAM/AUTODESK most of the time Uni-Graphics is used as it a very powerful 3D program in UNIX which I personally used before... but never master it because UNIX command sucks big time..... And most of all.... 3D modeling and program all have the same principle and rules... so understanding 3DSM , u may able to pick up MAYA of other 3D progam quite well.... Kamakazi
Kpl. First of all, from what I have gathered from previous posts, you did not actually model the 57 Chevy, you got it from Digimation, or wherever else, if this is so, then you shouldnt put "by [GRT1]Kpl.Eli" on the bottom because you did not make the wireframes, you should put who made it to begin with. @deleyt 3D Digitizer =
[GRT1]Kpl.Eli
@Projectile and |rsi|â„¢deleyt: Not splines huh?, strange so this guy is not telling the thruth!!! tell him this then http://www.raz.ro/tutorials/masina/c1.htm @Kamakazi: As I told some posts back, I didnt know who made the chevy model, so I couldnt put in a name,....... and for the people who know me, know i always give credits to the ppl who made things for me, or when I use things from them. projectile
anyway, no matter how.... at the bottom line..... pls dun claim works that are not belong to you..... for example putting your name at the bottom..... cause if u hit the wrong side of the town.... u maybe caught infringing someone's copyright u can tell whatever method of doing this model..... but I do use NUBRS so I know how hard it is to use this tool..... projectile
At this point and what you are driving at, has cause alot of mistrust from members in this forum.... including me..... 7 hours to complete a model of a car.... which an expert from http://www.turbosquid.com reveal that even some professional took weeks or even months to complete a complex 3D model..... Ruin
Wow... uhhh... okay then. This seems to be resolved, but for future thought, what's wrong with KP claiming the actual render as his? I render work that's not mine (with permission from the author) and it's cool. I can claim the render as mine, even if it's not completely mine. Sure, people may see it as cheap, but I have every right to put my name at the bottom of that image. I have permission to sue the rifle, and I did everything else. So let's not jump to conclusions in the future. For now, let's keep this thread heading the right direction please.

Chems
just thought id add my knowledge as the "vehicle man" lol. I make my ground vehicles from a side spline. Mainly one cause Ive never figured out the NU whatever and two cause to use that for GR would be a huge amount of polys. I see my original spline as a bit of clay and start cutting and adding to get it how I want.

Black Sabbath
GRT1]Kpl.Eli Can I ask you did you made that airplane from your scene.I did see that you write for cars that thay are not yours models but for airplane i didnt see. Well here is my scene its not finish yet but This can give you clue what can i do (this scene is made in 10 min of work when i did see this post.)Only scene. Modeling tehnique (For car) -Start with spline, after i give surface to spline -convert to edit.poly and give a detailing to car.For some parts i use box modeling. Time -Hundred and hundred hours in Max. Lighting - two defaults lights by max Render with Brazil with sky light and graund plane enable and white box to create reflections. Well i dont now about you guys but when you render with somebody art work it will be honest from you to give a respect to author of model with Writing and his name too if YOU DONT HAVE PERMISSION FROM AUTHOR I say that because i now what creating of high poly model is. All you see here is creating by me modeling and materials are create in Max 5.1 Sorry on bad english Junuzovic Damir
