I've never played the first one, but from what I've seen so far early 2004 (release date) can't come quick enough. So never mind Halo, move over for HL2 if ya ask me. What do you guys & gals think? snakebite1967 0 Posted November 3, 2003 Share Posted November 3, 2003 hopefully it lives up to hype tho putting the release date back that far reminds me of doom3 so who knowsif the single player is as good as HL 1 then im sold but if they go ahead with charging for the mp version seperatly to the sp then they can keep it, i built my current pc partly to be able to play this game for its october release now its set for maybe march so fingers crossed Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Doom 3 and HL 2 are hyped SOOO much that it's crazy. What happened to all the smaller developers that make cool games? Do they get recognition in many computer game magazines and TV shows? Not many. Computer Games Magazine is fairly good at covering more independent stuff but I'd like to see a mixed bag of games from everyone. My 2 cents. Xian Saint 0 Posted November 4, 2003 Share Posted November 4, 2003 I think a lot of it depends on what you expect out of it...I personally think its going to be revolutionary for the sci-fi futuristic FPS genre...people that don't like those kinds of games though might not think its anything special. Daywanderer 0 Posted November 5, 2003 Share Posted November 5, 2003 It's on my must-buy list. Half-Life is regarded as one of the great milestones of the FPS genre, and that was Valve's first game. With all the money they raked in on Half-Life (plus all the different releases, expansions and mods) and the additional technology and experience they have now, I'd say it's hyped up for a very good reason. It won over 50 "game of year" awards in different countries worldwide. It also won other awards.....and all because of the storyline behind the game. Like I say, if the sequel is as good as its predecessor, then HL2 will own the PC charts for years to come. I wonder if the rather sinister "G-Man" from HL is back in the sequel.
