dekela 0
ok, now for my second atempt at wep models. it's a bit heavy at 1200 poly's, but that is all in the rounding of the grip and reciever. what the heck, if it's meant to be round, i want it round. i just have to add the foregrip flash light lense texture. any input/thoughts are welcome cheers...... elpatricio 0
For a second model I would have to say very good job. But JTF-1, 1200 polys is not fine at all, in fact its FAR from it, for a weapon like that from an experienced modeller, you'd be looking at no more than 250-400 polys. I'm not being an ###### but if we wan't our modders to improve we have to be frank sometimes. The highest poly first person weapon model in ravenshield is 1700 (not far off yours)- OK they're not great weapon models but they just about justify 1000+ poly counts. So what i'm saying is keep on trucking, you can reduce that poly count by about 75% so give it a go - you'll be better off for it in the end.
dekela 0
thanx for the thoughts people, good to hear. @ elpatricio, i know what your saying, i though it was a few too many poly's. as i said most is in the chamfering of the grip and reciever. i can shed nearly 500 just on those two. also i could use a 6 or 8 sided ngon for the tubes instead of 14 or 16 cheers......
