player platoon kits and players

As far as actors, look inside Origmiss/Actor/rifleman and you will see 76 .atr files. Basically you need to create your own .atr files for riflemen, support, demo and snipers. Quite a lot of work if you ask me, but I believe Bajabravo Might have a program that does this quickly. As far as kits, you need to go into every actor file and specify which folder they look in for kits.

You put the sniper actor files in the Origmiss/Actor/Sniper folder. You put the sniper CHR files in the Character/Allied folder - and the kits into the kits/sniper folder.

Or for that matter Kits/Custom, or Kits/Sniperalternate - then You alter the ATR files to refer to that particular folder.

I want it so they will only be on my mod. I dont want any of the original actors to be done eighter. same with kits

do i still do that?

ReplaceM will allow you change such things as kit paths for an entire folder of actor files - with just one click

You ain't lying. Okay now the dumb question comes out. How do I use this to do that?

Click on Add Replace Group > call it something (like GR) > right click it > new group > add files > select Use Folder > Change entry in Include file Filter field to requirements (eg: *.atr) > Source file/folder path - browse to directory > deselect Include files in all subfolders > (Destination tab) choose a save location if different > (Backup tab) deselect Enable file backup (unless you want it to) > OK.

Fill in the Original Text and replacement text in the fields in the bottom panes.

Click Start processing in the menu bar.

Here's a tip. If you want to add a line in an atr file that doesn't exist, eg: <HeadAttachmentNormalLOD>, chose the line above as the Original Text (<Leadership>1</Leadership> in this case) and both lines in the Repacement text -

Eg:

Original text:

<Leadership>1</Leadership>

Replacement text:

<Leadership>1</Leadership>

<HeadAttachmentNormalLOD>att_cuba_irr_bandanna.qob</HeadAttachmentNormalLOD>

Your custom mod directory should contain all the same directories as, say, MP2 - if it doesn't just create them. Now just place all your modded atr files in the folders with same names that they originated from. Make sure that 1) you retain the original filenames and 2) your mod is activated and has priority (lowest on the list) . Your modded atr files will now take precedence over the originals for as long as it is active. Same goes for all modded files that you want to automatically 'overwrite' the originals when your mod is active. If you use unique filenames for your modded files then they must be specifically referenced in the script or atr files, etc.
