Urban Maps

I have started mission scripting again and am working on a few missions

I am looking for a urban type of map in the Docks/Embassy type of mold

Any good maps out there?

I would suggest IG Downtown., its not set in europe, its african. the map (in my opinion) is one of the very best....too bad it gets very little attention.

- it has a good size so its flexible as far as mission planning.

- it has a several buildings that you can enter so you have lots of rooms to set objectives like rescuing hostages, recovering packages etc etc.

- there are 3 buildings with roof access.

this map had lots of potential do go down in history as the best map ever made.

Id like to get my hands on the MAX file and retuxture it., add some furnishings to all the empty rooms., make use of the area I refer to as the 'market'

I suggest you download it if you havent already., explore it and see what you can come up with.

ps. I think retexturing it to make it look european should be easy.

I would not suggest that map as it has too many user made problems.

- Portal and map level problems which wont allow AI to path or navigate much of the good size of the map.

- several buildings which the AI cannot navigate and that rooms disappear due to incorrect portalization.

-this map had lots of potential except for all of the maker's errors in map making.

-map cannot have a lighting scheme applied to it due to the numerous portalization errors making it appear very flat and badly textured.

Id like someone to get their hands on the max file as well and actually fix it and add some detail, which it is extremely lacking.

As is, your scripted AI will spend much time shooting at walls, through walls, not going where scripted and getting lost following the player controller character. If this doesnt concern you , then wow this map is good(other than the lighting, textures,lack of detail and magic rooms that allow you to run around in the skybox).

I cant really think of any urban type maps out there though, sorry. SOAF has some nice urban type maps if you have that and want to offer missions for GR for people who have both games.
