Max Payne 2. I just don't get it!

Recommended Posts

Max Payne is coming soon guys but I don't get it. Lemme explain:

At the end of Max Payne, Max was sent to prison (for a crime he didn't commit). If he's in prison, how can he be in MP2? Although I Max Payne, that old geezer, Alfred Woden I think he was called, said he'd stick up for Max when he gets sentanced, and will do all he can to prevent Max from goin to prison.

Something else that don't make sense:

I was reading up about MP2 and it said that Max has a new missus: Mona Sax (stop sniggering at the back!!). Now, IIRC, in Max Payne, Mona was was shot several times in the lift of the AESIR building and she dies. Well, at least you're lead to believe she dies....

So ###### is goin on? Mona's dead and Max is in prison, so how can there be Max Payne 2?

to follow what your asking, you're asking us to play the game again, aren't you? :nono:

I love the game, but I need to move on. Though I haven't completely played the game on KungFu mod or the Matrix Mod. Have you?

Er no....

I'm asking how come Max is out of prison and how come Mona is alive?

One drink (with Valkyr in) Mona gives to you. That's straight after you kill Lupino. In fact, wait a mo', I'm confused again.... that were prolly actuall Mona's evil (twin) sister that game him that drink.

That's way before you go into the AESIR building. By the time you reach that building, the fx have worn off. Although some other woman injects him with "V" near the end.

At the end of Max Payne, Max is led off by the NYPD, but the dialogue makes it reasonable to assume that Woden steps in intercede.

Mona appears to be shot in an elevator in the Aesir building, but the elevator doors close, and when they open, Mona is neither in the elevator, nor is there the expected pool of blood. Many possibilities exist to explain this situation, but since we know Mona is in the sequel, it's safe to say that she didn't actually die.

Also, as far as I recall, MP2 is set several years after the original, with Max having been pardoned prior, and returning to the police force.

Screenshot of graphic novel there;

"I had wanted to be punished

for what I had done...

...But Alfred Woden had

kept his word...

...With his influence, ridiculously,

I had emerged from my history of

violence unscathed, a hero...

...I don't thank him. I couldn't

stomach it. I left the DEA."

Maybe that woman he "killed" was his wife in Max Payne. She was killed by they druggies - remember? But maybe Payne go framed for it as he did with killing Alex when he didn't do it.

Just a thought.

I just bought MP2(great game, btw) and here is how it works:

He got out of jail, but he is being chased for the murder of another woman....a fellow detective. on a routine homocide call, Mona shows up.

I'm still on part 1:chapter 3/4 though, but it kicks ass so far.

Yeah I saw the changed Max's face! I saw the screenies of him and was like: "Who the hell is this? This aint Payne. "

Jim Brevura is back too from what I hear.

Jim: "This is deputy chief Jim Brevura from the NYPD You are to cease your criminal activities right now!...."

Max: "Listen Jim, me and the boys have been talking. Everyone's real sorry. We'll never do it again"

Jim: "Who the hell is this?"

Haha what a great moment from Max Payne

He got out of jail? I think you mean Alfred Woden got him out of jail....

Does he still store all the weapons inside his jacket?

I was going to do a mod for it once where he could get a battle axe. Imagin pulling that out from under his coat. It wouldn't even fit under his coat for a start (just like half the weapons in Max Payne)!

yeah, somehow he can fit a few grenades 2 barettas, 2 .357 D. Eagles, a streetsweeper, a sawed-off, a SPAS-12, an MP5A3, 2 Mac-11/9s, a Kalashnikov, an M4 Carbine, a SVD and a Remington sniper rifle all in his coat, not to mention the already-flaming molotovs.
