Parabellum 12
That sure looks like a Colt logo on the magazine well.

Parabellum 12
You know what it was - it was actually the bottom of the maple leaf. At the small resolution, it looked like the bottom of Colt's circle.
Gryphon 0
Does that say Forces Canadiennes C8?! I thought this was a C7! This would looks kickass in the hands of US Marines, if they did the M16A4 up like this I mean, with ACOG or SN12 and a MARPAT sling but I guess they're not redesigning again because of the impending M8 - THAT I would love to see in MARPAT furniture
ReconSnake 0
I believe that says "D5" This project is being done in two parts the upgrade of the weapon and the upgrade of the C79 optical sight being done in parallel. The rifle by Diemaco and the C79 optical sight by Arament tech in cooperation with ELCAN the manufacturer of the sight. 1. This upgrade starts with a C7 rifle (with carring handle), 2. The rifle is stripped down and inspected through out, 3. After verification of all parts meet the allowable tollerances , 4. The rifles are reassembled into the C7A2 configeration. Viper 0
neet - that ambidexterus mag catch looks interesting, does it have a bolt catch on both sides as well? what exactly does "Tactical Charging Handle" mean? CLARK
ReconSnake 0
No ambi bolt catch - not much need for it. Tactical charging handle is a pretty generic term. They generally are designed to at least speed up the time it takes to find the catch release (like the badger ordinance tac-latch). In this case, the C7A2's latch is designed to afford ambidextrious usage as well.

Spring, Elastometric, Grip Kit, HH buffer. Well lets see. My M-16A4 I carried in Iraq the same sight which the US Armu calls the M145 sight. The Telescopic buttstock is nice!! When I was my unit armorer I tried to get the telescopic buttstock on all my uints M16-A4 but was told it couldnt be done. The Ambidextrous Fire Control Selector would be a great thing for them to update on the M-16 series rifle. My left handed soldiers have a pain in the butt flipping from safe to semi when doing mount. M-16 series is made for right handed firers.
Gryphon 0
Any reason You chose the Elcan over the ACOG?
supasniper 0
M-16 series is made for right handed firers. at least it can be fired left handed, if you fire the SA80 left handed you get a broken cheek and a face full of hot bullet cases
soup31314 0
Well SOCOM does use the Acog. Us poor line grunts get the M145. It is actually suppost to be for our support weapons (M249, M240b) but my 240 gunner didnt like it so I used. The first M-16s you would get a face full of brass. They finally put the brass deflector on the M16A2 rifle. The M-16 has almost no damn recoil. At basic they take the M-16 and put it on the smallest guys nuts and pull trigger.
