Bob The Nailer Posted October 15, 2003 Share Posted October 15, 2003 o.k. — so i just challenged grebyte to a 30 minute pistols only match on the docks with the results to be posted here. i'm sure his first inclination will be to decline but now that i'm posting this he has no choice. o.k so the stats after the 30 minute battle on the docks were. Bob The Nailer=10 kills accuracy=12.8 Sgt. Rock=6 kills accuracy=6.0 (fired blind at times to unerve me) It started out simply enough with me running and gunning and rock displaying his usual patience in battle. I think rock scored the first two (we were on teamspeak) and I worried aloud if this was a game more slanted to his patience then my petulence. We were using silenced pistols with no scopes afterall, so we had to rely on movement to reveal enemy location. Since rock has the patience to sit still like...well...much like a rock. I somehow pulled ahead with a quick few kills by coming around a couple corners while rock was prone and putting a couple in his hershey factory. Rock lamented what appeared to be his fate. Losing (interest). Once i assured him there was only 15 more minutes he told me he'd be able to hang in there. I think rock racked up a couple more to make it 6-4 with him leading. Our last face off in the big shed was his downfall however. Rock was in the shed door looking outside lying prone (a newbie mistake that did him in more than once) while I came in the other door. He heard me enter through the door in the other room but when he turned toward me as i slipped through the doorway between the rooms his open door obstructed his view. Rock was only able to obtain a clear shot on my left leg due to his compromised position. I killed him in the shootout but he put 1 in my leg and 1 in my chicken mcnuggets sending me staggering and stammering for cover and BBQ sauce. Seeing as he knew where I was and the fact I was not exiting that building any to quick (with a broken wheel and all), I decided to get prone while peeking under the tanks. Expecting me to be limping away rock came right back in the door and got prone (again) in the doorway, this time facing into the building and towards me. He accepted 2 in the brainpan for his trouble. I gained two more on the way out of the building by changing my strategy (due in part to the busted wheel). All i did was work my way out by killing and then moving closer to the exit and killing again. So the tide had turned and our strategies flipped all due to the leg wound. We both agreed that it did him in. He had the bloodthirst I usually do and I had the focus he always mantains. Fill in any details I may have missed rock. I was prone in the warehouse on the left side, looking out the door. I heard the other door open, and spun in time to see Bob moving around the corner, but he was obstructed by the door. I fired twice and saw blood splatter, but Bob then returned fire and took me out. Even then, I was ahead by 1 kill at this point. Patience could have won out, but I had the blood lust, it's true. My martial arts training failed me, and I fought with emotion. I gave in to the dark side. Bob the Nailer reigns supreme. For now... Oh, and Snake, I know you're a little kid or like to pretend that you're a little kid or a ###### or something, but you should learn to shut your mouth. Indeed, the point of the match was to highlight the differences in our style and how successfull they are. Traditionally, I employed patience and forsight while Bob is a disciple of "run and gun", although he's quite good at it. It wasn't till we switched roles that the tides turned. Playing through Gamespy, we often played co-op missions with impatient players, focused on kills. We'd use them as rabbits - let them take point, hang back and see where the tangos are lurking. On those big maps, running from the spawn point can be a real drag. Red Square is the best example - feebs that would go running through the doorways instead of using grenades and patience to draw the tangos out. Important Note: I'm not implying in any way that Bob did not cleary win. Just pointing out that we both learned an important lesson. ~NkOgNiTo~ Posted October 16, 2003 Share Posted October 16, 2003 my suggestion would be close the browser and walk away from the keyboard for a minute, noone knows but you, take a break blow it off, almost everyone here gets along fine, most of us are very used to teasing each other, in a friendly way, nothing here is a personal attack towards you, and if u feel it is report it and it will be tak'n care of discretely...if u bak up and take a break when u get frustrated and then come back when u feel calmed down u will have more fun, you are welcome here just as much as everyone else and noone has a problem or a grudge against you....and if blow off the anger and just be yourself then we can all get to know SNAKE and not the other guy who seems to blow up in most of the threads...
