Sixpence 0
Only for my Information: Can anyone explain me the Difference between Diamaco (C7 or so) and Colt (M16 family ) Weapons ?
Parabellum 12
Diemaco weapons are built in Canada, under license from Colt. AFAIK, the big difference between a C7 and an M16, is that the C7 family have heavier barrels.
elpatricio 0
Whereas the Colt M16A2 is limited to the 0-1-3 trigger group, the Diemaco C7 can fire full-auto.
Zantar45 0
US M16's have semi and burst fire selectors while Diemacos have semi and full auto. Thats another difference.
Parabellum 12
Duh! Sorry, forgot the selective-fire difference as well.

Zantar45 0
Something I noticed about the Diemacos.... Do they use the Waffle pattern magazines? Since they are licensed under Colt to produce M16 weapons, I thought Colt stopped using the Waffle mag because it would sometimes stop feeding in full auto and the mag floor plate would sometimes fall off? *just noticed me and El Patricio posted at the same time. * Edited October 1, 2003 by Zantar45
Earl 0
They no longer use waffle mags, not in Canadian Forces anyway. Originally, diemaco bought surplus M16A1 uppers, and manufacturered they're own lower receivers and internal parts, I think. In good photos, you can see in many Diemaco photos, a purplish lower that is a different color from the upper. That also means the old Diemaco rifles use the A1 iron sight (like most AR15s I think). Flat top receivers are now standard, and typically the Elcan 3.5x scope is used. The C8 carbines don't have the reducer section in the barrel, because Diemaco also manufactuers their own M203, which has a different attachent method and its own quadrant sight. Zantar45 0
Ok, wasn't too sure on the waffle mag issue since on the website thats whats on all the weapons. Well at least this discussion isn't as complex as the whole MP5 series.

ReconSnake 0
US M16's have semi and burst fire selectors while Diemacos have semi and full auto. Thats another difference. Keep in mind that not all M16's are 0-1-3, there are 0-1-full also. You have to include a version designator like el patricio did with the A2 for that statement to be true.
