Specter 0
Set a router up properly and dont worry about it. You can get into anyone's computer if you know the IP, theoretically. Most crackers if they hit you are looking for something specific, or they are just PO'ed at ya. Set a router up, or if ya have to, a FULL version of a software firewall, although these can be cracked. Anyone's PC can be gotten into through any open ports, such as game ports. It is always a possibility. The only way to truly hide your IP is to set up a quality router(they are inexpensive, less so in most cases than a full pro version software firewall that will provide you with port blocking and monitoring). Be aware that most trial versions or DL versions dont allow this, they only work on an application level.
Burke 0
Just run a good firewall such as ZomeAlarm...completely hides your PC from any unallowed outsiders.
Specter 0
Youll be better off with a router for the same price as Zone Alarm. The free DL version of ZA doesnt do all that is needed. Better to physically hide yourself from the net than use an application that merely hides you.
