frankiejr 0
hey everyone, i've been running a kickass game server on a great connection 24/7 for the past couple weeks. it's been doing better than expected and it's been a blast. now, the problems. every once in a while it crashes. i think it's probably just a memory overflow, but i don't know how to get around the error messages that WinXP generates. i'm NOT talking about the "send information to Microsoft" messages...those are disabled already. i'm looking to get rid of the errors that say "GHOSTRECON.EXE caused a general protection fault in blah blah blah" or something to that effect. unfortunately, i haven't grabbed the complete message yet but if it's needed i can. i just need to know if it's possible to disable those error messages in WinXP, so when i set up the server as "Eternal" it'll always restart after a crash. right now it doesn't, and it's frustrating because sometimes it's down for a couple hours. i want this thing to have the best uptime possible, darn it! so, any help will be appreciated. thanks! .frankiejr

Dannik 43
What application/services are you currently using to restart the server automatically?
frankiejr 0
i'm just running the "Launch Dedicated Server on ubi.com" link in my startup folder. i'm new at this dedicated server thing. if you have ANY suggestions to help it run better, let me know.......please tell me. what OS? any additional apps to help? i'm thinking of trying out a memory cleaner, but i haven't used one since W98. i'm not even sure if that will work in WinXP. like i said, i'm thinking of trying out the dedicated server controls at: http://www.mass-productions.com/ is anyone here familiar with these two tools? it's pocket change for the software and i want to buy them...but i really don't want to without this thing working right. any suggestions for anything dedicated, let me know! thanks guys... .frankiejr
Dannik 43
The dedicated server tools from Mass Productions (good ol' TommyBoy's company) are the butter on the bread for every server operator that I've known to use them. His newest build also supports Ubi.com launching, and a very recent discussion of the new build can be found here, in The Combat Zone's forums. The topic was created by TommyBoy, the author of the application in question, and the comments/questions/answers in the thread should give you an idea just how well liked his software is by server ops.
