Crimson 0
Well, I finally caved in and bought a Formula 1 racing sim. Holy crap, it's freaking awesome. The graphics are absolutely beautiful, the tracks are awesome. [i'll get some screenshots up. (Ive always loved road courses.)] The thing that gets me is the acceleration. With the BMW's at least, you can get from standing still to 200 almost in two seconds. The only thing is, does anyone know if it's possible to get up to 300 MP/H in an F1 car? (No draft.) XavierOnasis 0
(withholding snickers) Heard an interview with Dennis Head (He's the tech chief with Williams-BMW, I believe) and he said that with no wing, the cars would hit 300mph easy. You'd just not be able to turn. No clue if you can get them up that fast in the game. Interesting tidbit - the BMW engines idle at 11,000 rpm
Crimson 0
(withholding snickers) Lets put it this way, if I could only have NASCAR 2003 or F1 Challange, id stick with NASCAR 2003. (withholding snickers)

(withholding snickers) Watch it, you might offend the Nascar fans, have you tried the Indy Series by Codemaster? Next question: Will you cave in and get the steering whells...I have to run out of CompUSA everytime I see the Logitech Momo Racing wheels, I'm afraid my credit card would meet me at the register.LOL
Crimson 0
How would keeping the NASCAR game offend the NASCAR fans? I saw a review of Indy Series on TV, and I didnt think it looked like anything special.
Jack57 0
Dennis Head Would he be the love child of Ron Dennis and Patrick Head? Don't mind me, I'm just stirring Yeah the F1 series done by ISI are some of the best if you are into realism. They have said this one is their last and as such they have made it very mod 'friendly'. Check some of them out HERE - everything from Rally cars to Tourers and CART.
XavierOnasis 0
Pssh.. I was conserving bandwidth. My foot tastes good, though. Thank you for bringing it to my attention
Havok 30
Reading this thread made me re-install F1 2001 by EA . Should say install as I never really played it since I got it ages ago. The graphix are sweet but I am having a problem keeping my car on the track without the assists on Lot of spin outs and wall hitting going on here " They have said this one is their last and as such they have made it very mod 'friendly'. Check some of them out HERE - everything from Rally cars to Tourers and CART. Nice link...looking for some mods for 2001 now.
Crimson 0
Lets just say I've yet to complete a lap without staying on the track, and my lap speeds are about 3 seconds off the race speeds. The graphics are truely amazing, and the cars are so sweet. I still enjoy banging sheet metal though.
NightCrawler 137
Got F1 2k2 out of the bargain bin last weekend, I wasn't impressed. Not enough control over my steering wheel compared to Nascar. Guess I'm just spoiled.
magnumkp 0
Would he be the love child of Ron Dennis and Patrick Head? I knew I didn't recognise that name. Also F1 cars could (theoretically) drive upside down (i.e. on the ceiling) if given the chance. Now that would be a good race.

Not enough control over my steering wheel compared to Nascar. Guess I'm just spoiled. I dont understand. Shouldnt it be the other way around, since an F1 car handles far better than a WC/Nextel (fuggin lame) car?
