I am also planning on getting back into modding with GRAW. not sure what it will be right now, will have to see first what can be done with the tools. My speciality still is weapons, but i would like to something completely new for this new game. But i do not think i will do something big all on my own, maybe i can be of service to a modding team when the time comes.

Yeah, i used a RB collection to create that animation.

i have only touched the very basics of Reactor, like rolling a ball through a brick wall. but you are right about the render times, with GI it was going to take like 21 hours if i remember correctly. so i just turned it of to get a quick preview of the finished animation.

you are right about the last 2 screens, whistle. those are the MRC instead of the SCAR, the rest look like the SCAR to me. plus in the last 2 pics, the front sight is on the rails. while on the SCAR the front sight is just ahead of the rails.

Congrats HF! Have a great day!!

that is, at least, one GOTY award in the bag!!!

Stay save, m8! My thoughts will be with you and your family.

that is a close call, can only imagine what must have gone through the drivers head when he noticed he was tumbling towards that guy. i imagine a lot of variations on the F word..

LOL, trying to live up to your Xfire profile, aren't you.....
-
Don't worry, they will make it up to the devs by giving GRAW the best game of the year award.

No it doesn't support normal maps. Maybe this will be of any help, visit www.sourceblog.org it has a lot of tutorials on how to handpaint your textures, some on normal mapping and other stuff that you may find useful when working on 3 and 2d. But you will have to register and be active on that forum before you can access the tutorials. Another great resource is 3dbuzz.com, you will need to register but it has tons of video tutorials on 3d modeling, map editors like Hammer & UnrealEd and Photoshop aswell as vids on other sides of game-development.

thanks for the heads up Sup! Snake, please let me know what it is you are looking and i will do my best to provide you with some tutorials.

don't you mean: "it's like the last time i visited Amsterdam all over again"

not at this time, maybe next week! i am currently working on my version of the MR-C from GRAW and a little side thingy.... what kind of tuts are you looking for? for tutorials on how to make weapons, i highly recommend the video tutorials by Ichi, although not intended for use with GR, they will show you all the basics of polymodeling. just do a google on Ichi video tutorials and you will find them somewhere. they are all over the net. if you need anything else, please let me know and i will try to find you what you are looking for.

sad news, but i do not think it has anything to do with marketing. Bad news is almost never good for business, so if it could be avoided they would have done so. so....that leaves the development side of it. If the devs at RSE and GRIN aren't 100% proud of the product at its current state and they want so more time to make it like the game they invisioned at the beginning, i say go right ahead. we will all benefit from it in the end. my 2 cents.

yeah, it looks like a great program. the only thing i can see wrong with it is that is has to be on to run a scan, you can't just use it to scan your system from time to time.

thanks everyone for the info, i think i now understand how it will work. thanks again and now back to max to build it...

to give some insight, Bouke Loohuis isn't someone who works at Ubi here in Holland, it is the guy who asked the question. i sure hope this is true, but there is no mention on the website itself who is answering the questions other then some GRAW developer, nor are they saying it is coming from Ubi Nederland. So i have my doubts but sure hope this is true. on the other hand it could be true, the people behind the website are also the people behind The Party, a big LAN party here in holland which will be all about GRAW this year with sponsoring by Ubi NL so they might have been talking

yes, i know it isn't a real weapon used by armed forces yet, but i want to make a version of my own and need to know what the magazine looks like and how it is attached to the weapon itself so i can try to make a custom reloading animation.
-
In order to recreate this weapon myself, i am looking for some info. How do you reload that weapon and what does the magazine look like seperated from the main body of the weapon. I have been looking at some of the GRAW footage but it doesn't show the reload sequence in detail. Hopefully someone can help me with this.

What does the man himself think
swartsz replied to swartsz's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Tom Clancy did write a book about one of his games, Rainbow Six. but only after the game was released. -
By now we know what almost every active member on this forum thinks of the new Ghost Recon. But just now i was thinking what the man himself, Tom Clancy, thinks of this new game. Although he is no longer a part of Redstorm, the game still bears his name. So my question is, is there any word on what mr. Clancy thinks of what has become of Ghost Recon 3?

yeah, they are a great resource for textures. also really like the 'making of' features. They have some great products on their website. I just got the Shorts Drawer 2005 DVD which i won in last months competition of 3dcreative magazine. Full of cool animations. And if the texture DVD's are a bit too expensive for you, check out 3d creative magazine over at 3dcreativemag.com , a magazine released once a month filled with tutorials, interviews and great galleries and all for just 4 dollars.

great screenshots! It looks like a really promising mod, made by several pro's. more, older artwork can be found in this thread: Nuclear Dawn thread
