  1. yeah, i've tried launching the game and EXPANSION PACKS lol with the disk in the drive. whether i use the GR disk or the expansion pack disk, the game will not run. as i say, the original GR worked fine - until i installed the expansion pack. now when i try to play the game at all, i just get the protection error message. i also tried calling the tech support phone line, and the guy, "chris", didn't quite know what to make of it, so he emailed me an alternative .exe file or whatever and said: "unzip the contents to the Ghost Recon folder overwriting the existing GhostRecon.exe file.   2. after the 1.3.5 patch didn't install i tried the 1.4 patch. the message i got said i needed to install the 1.3 patch before i could install 1.4. so frustrating.. to install the mods, i just put the disk into my cd-rom drive and when the autorun feature brought up the GR menu i selected install. the mod pack seemed to install fine, but i was a little surprised to not see any desktop icons or startmenu shortcuts for the mods. so then i figured i just had to run GR and somehow select the mod missions from there. much to my dismay, GR would no longer run. i also tried uninstalling and reinstall

  4. I bought Ghost Recon Gold Edition recently. When installed, Ghost Recon worked fine. When I installed the mods (desert seige, island thunder) which are included on 1 disk for the Gold Edition version, i have problems. When i try to run ghost recon, 2 windows open and the screen goes black and it says "protection error" and won't run.
