  1. I just want to understand the reasoning behind not allowing Ghosts to pick up other Ghosts' weapons.

(I know this has been addressed as it pertains to picking up enemy weapons.)

It wouldn't be realistic at all since in the battlefield you'd simply not pick up a enemy weapon - it might be booby-trapped (ask someone who's been with S-For)! ;)
  2. Will I be able to toggle from the first person weapon view to standard GR view as in GR

It's been said a lot of times that there will only be a first person weapon view! ;)

    @Bo

That night screenshot (#2) is awesome and looks very atmospheric - very well done.

I'm curious about the nightvision but I'm very confident that you'll make it as beautiful as possible!

Gee, now I gotta save some money in order to upgrade before may, right? :(

    Intel Pentium 4 (2.64 Ghz)

1GB RAM (and additional 512 MB RAM not yet in use)

Gainward Geforce 6800 GT Golden Sample (overclocked by developer) + 256 MB

And as soon as it's available: Ageia PhysX PPU

  3. ghost recon 4 was officially announced? i thought it was still just that one thing that said it would come out next year.

I thought that was an official announcement. Is it just a rumor unofficial? Either way, if they are indeed working on a new version I would think less time would be spent on an expansion. If they arn't working on a new version, I would think more time might be devoted to an expansion.

The recently so called 'leaked' release schedule has been officially denied by Ubisoft! ;)
  4. Might have been unclear. We tried it and it got a bit annoying as you order your team around a lot. It got to a point where we saw the arm flying every time you issue a move order and you do this all the time if you are a good leader. So we decided to remove that for ease of view.

Ah, I see! Thanks again Bo, much appreciated!

Maybe the following graphic can clear the things up a bit what I meant with 'command menue' (I am of course aware of the fact that the PC cross com will be inside the game and also that it's going to look different than the one used in the XBox360 version - sorry for the confusion I may have caused)!

    commandmenue7gr.jpg

I think I need a coffee. Does anyone else want one? :D

  5. No handsignals - you are in FPS so we removed them as it obstructed the view a lot (you give loads of orders all the time to keep up tactics)

I understand and thank you for the answer Bo, but doesn't that take a bit away from the body awareness feature? I mean, as far as I remember, when I was issuing orders to my squad at the military, I saw my arm all the time. What's getting me a bit confused is if you throw a grenade you'll also see your arm - wouldn't that obstruct the view as much as if you're issuing orders via a handsignal and doesn't both of that add a lot to the atmosphere since GRAW is trying to give the player the feeling of really being inside the body of a soldier (with all the Pro's and Contra's)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not nagging but simply pointing out a potential logic issue here. I mean a simple toggle function as explained in my previous post could do the trick and the player would be able to decide if he want's to use this option or not! ;)

hey Bo, how about ditching the 'Jerry-same music in ever single movie-Bruckheimer' theme for GRAW PC and have 'Super Trooper' instead?  ;)

I don't think that'll be a good idea or even fit the near future - combat scenario of the game (although I also like to listen to ABBA....sometimes)! ;)
  6. Don't really get your question on command menu... what do you mean - the cross com?
Yep! ;) I saw the XBox360 version of GRAW displays right below the cross com footage from the other soldiers, the currently selected order (for example 'regroup' etc.) and so I was wondering if you'll go for a similar look in the PC version! ;)
  7. I was wondering, looking at the XBox360 styled command menue (which is basically part of the cross com) about how the PC versions command menue is going to look (if I recall correct then I didn't see any command menue in the build that was shown in Leipzig). Maybe you can give us a bit of intel about this. Are you going for a more Rainbow Six Raven Shield intuitive style, just something like in the first GR or for a totally different style? ;)

    Another question:

Did the Dev's manage to integrate the handsignals into the single player mode (I know you can't comment on the multiplayer features so I won't ask you the same for the MP although I'd be interessted to learn more about it)? With myself being a former soldier, I really think it's absolutely necessary, because as you know it's pretty common to communicate via handsignals within a unit - especially when stealth is needed (for example in hostage rescue missions). The element of surprise is always of vital importance and therefor the handsignals would add a lot to the realism of the game IMO since they allow to issue commands without a single word! ;)

In case this feature is already part of the current build, will the player be able to decide how he's going to issue commands to his comrades in the field - on the fly? So if he prefers just handsignals will the player be able to toggle between vocal / handsignals by (for example) tapping the Tabulator key so instead of vocal orders Mitchell is issuing commands via handsignals? :)

  8. May, well, lets hope it doesnt turn into another Rs: letdown.

What's wrong with the uh... 'unique' quality of Lockdown?

Hehe, no serious. I definitely second that but I also think Ubi learned it's lesson and Vegas is going to be A LOT better than Lockdown (shouldn't be that hard to accomplish considering Lockdown's 'level of quality')! ;)

  9. "Starforce "?!!!
Speaking of it, there have been rumors Starforce FrontLine 4.0 is going to automatically uninstall itself after you removed the game it's meant to protect. According to these rumors it'll also support a steam like internet activation, 64 bit and DVD-R. I think that's going to adress a few of the issues some people experienced with older versions of the SF driver. As far as I know the new Starforce is going to be presented at the CeBIT in Germany.

However, honestly I never had any problems with Starforce and I asked a lot of my friends / colleagues - none of them ever experienced a problem with it either (they keep their DVD firmware & starforce driver updated) but judging from the knowledge I gathered inside the support forums, I'd say there are still a few DVD ROM Developers who simply don't provide any firmware updates - of course SF is going to cause problems with old (!) firmware then (just like any other hardware does as soon as you confront it with brandnew technology or software).

  10. Yep, sure CkZWarlord, europe (especially Germany or France) would be interessting but how about Japan? I mean, Japan does have a lot of very different and interessting terrain (Kyoto, Hokkaido, Yokohama, Tokyo etc.) from typical japanese harbours to modern dense urban environment. From snow covered hills, traditional shrines or temples within an almost untouched natural environment to thermal bathhouses and narrow streets! ;)

  11. Well now I am torn. I am an old school R6/Rogue spear/GR1 fan and I have a 360 as well... Now I really don't know which version to get! Is the PC version looking to be a much slower paced game like the "classic" redstorm games? Honestly that is what is going to sell me...

Absolutely! The PC version is going to be a lot more tactical than the XBox360 version so the PC version is the one that comes closer at the "classic" redstorm games! ;)
