[Game Will Not Start - Ghost Recon]

I think I figured it out. There were entries in the modsset.txt file in the \Ghost Recon directoryfor mods that I had installed the first time I installed the game. When I deleted the entries, the game worked perfectly.

But I was not satisfied at that, and wanted to re-create the problem for the benefit of all. I installed the Sniper Armoury 1.2a and One Shot One Kill. he game worked a couple of times, then quit starting again. So I simply deleted the entries from the modsset.txt file and again the game worked. Problem solved!

However, I wanted to narrow down the culprit to one mod, so I reinstalled each ne separately, and also tried another mod I downloaded, and each caused the same problem. It just seems like I can't run ANY mods!

I am happy with the game as it was published, but would like to eventually try some of the mods out there. Any ideas?

[Game Will Not Start - Ghost Recon]

I have Ghost Recon and te 1.3 and 1.4 patches installed. All of a sudden, the game stopped starting... When I try to start it, it checks the CD, but does not continue to load the game.

When I check the task manager, is indicated that ghostrecon.exe and ~f39a36.tmp are running, but I can't switch to the game. If I try to run it again, another instance of each shows up in the process list.

I uninstalled the game and deleted al registry keys and reintalled the game. It worked for a couple of days, then quit again. I uninstalled again and reinstalled to a different directory. The same thing happened.

Ubi tech telephone support has been very patient and quite helpful, but they and I have run out of ideas. Anyone out there able to help?

I have DirectX 9.0 and Win XP. All other specs are well within game requirements.
