  1. These maps are not decent in size. These maps are as large (or small if you see it the same as me) as Boneyard or Deser Gulch which is saying alot. This game needs larger maps and user controlled rooms. Spawn camping is a given on this game especially if Ubi makes it run and gun the way they have.

  2. First and formost to the jedi guy. Your complaints are obviously warranted and I agree 100%. there is a but but I'll wait to release it.

Second to the sgt guy. like the jedi you've been on this forum for all of a few weeks. Shut up and go play call of duty.

Jedi here's my but. Like Sgt. You've been on this site for a short time. Which lets me know this may be your first bout with Ghost Recon. If you think this is your only issue for making this game better and more tactical you, too, should go play call of duty.

  3. I purchased my Original Xbox for 75 dollars. That included two ######ty games and two controllers. I went on to buy alot of games from the time I bought it on. In 2005 I bought my first Ubisoft game. Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike. That game introduced me to what is now one of my best friends in the world OPSIXDELTA. I put the game in and the first thing I did was start a co-op campaign room. I had a few people join at first and I instantly saw run and gun and my worries began. So I kicked everyone out and started a new room. I had three people join right away and the first question I asked was "Can anyone play this game tactically" I got one affirmative and two completely silent people. I kicked the quiet ones and set out to tactically take out the Government District. A level that myself and Delta would be tackling for over a year until the Xbox 360 and finally GRAW was released. Delta and I continued our tradition of playing Ghost Recon together. We gained friends and started moving from co-op to multiplayer. And we were good. We gathered a team and started playing every day and we were GOOD. Then we all sort of fell apart. GRAW2 was fantastic but I joined the Navy and everyone else was working hard. one day I picked GRAW2 up used and started playing it again. And Delta and a few of our old squad did as well but it was a strictly co-op thing. The duty players had moved into the game and tactical playing was no longer being done. But the beauty of the GRAW games was I could control who was on what team. Now Future soldier is released and Delta and I are Excited.

Then we played the game. We started our ghost recon tradition of opening a player hosted match. Wait. . .it won't let me close this to the public. Why can't I make it a private match. Oh it already is? that's interesting. Oh well lets get started. We learned a couple of maps the first night and by night two we were ready to get into the action of tactical multiplayer gaming. I started a game hoping to be able to host and determine who was on what team. At first it would be randomized but over time I would build my tactical playing team and hopefully get a few people to. . .why am I searching for a game I wanted a custom match that I host and control. . .whatever lets just see how it works out. Overpass. Underground. Market. Harbor. Cargo. FRUSTRATION. Delta and I are the only ones talking that's nothing new but why are these maps all run and gun paradise. So I exit with my party and I go to the maps. And we go from map to map on 5 minute games and realize that these maps are all catered to run and gun gaming. This is a sad day in the Ghost Recon world. For seven years I've been looking forward to every Ghost Recon Game. I play Ubisoft games just because Ubisoft made them. It's why I like assassins creed. Rainbow Six Vegas. It's all because of Ghost Recon. And now Ubisoft has gone the way of Call of Duty. Battlefield. Gears of War. You've sold out the Ghost Recon Franchise Ubisoft. And heres why:

The Problems as I see them

First off I can't seem to Host my own match. This is a Problem as I am a particular person about who I like in and out of my room. I guess it doesn't matter to Ubi who is in the lobby because, Problem number two, this lobby system is after all in the style of every CoD game I've ever played and that's a total of 4 (and just so everyone knows I burned every copy of that game I ever owned because I do not want it back in circulation) and finally BIG problem number 3 (by the way there are far more than these problems I'm just stating my top three) Every map is catered to run and gun. Choke points surrounded by ways in and out making them just a filter instead of a good spot to mine, no Sniping worth anything. In short these games are just call of Duty, And though I hate these games I know they used to be necessary. And I also knew that they would keep those sweet sweet little children off of my Ghost Recon games. Those run and gun players as well. Battlefield Gears of War and Call of duty and countless other run and gun paradises will keep my Ghost Recon as tactical as ever. But not anymore.

In short Ubisoft I will make this simple statement Make a short list and ask a simple question:

Statement: You've sold out the Ghost Recon Franchise Ubi

List: This is what I see wrong with the game:

1: There are no player hosted match settings or search settings

2: There are no open maps to facilitate tactical gameplay and snipers

3: I can't control what game I join and who in my party will stay on my team. It's more of a push the button and pray method.

4: You've taken out too much of the old Ghost Recon and added in too much of the New Call of Duty

Question: Why take a dump on a good thing? Tell me why it is you destroyed the good about ghost recon and made it into something new and different?

Gunsmith is great co-op is great, single player is great. But Ubi you've done all of us members of the hardcore tactical playing fanbase a great injustice by turning this game into what it isn't. Run and gun Call of Duty meets Ghost Recon. You've sold out so that you can make more money and that hurts us Ubisoft. That hurts alot.

  4. The best way to get old maps upgraded is to go onto the ubi GRAW forums and express your interest in this. That way the redstorm guys can goto the UBI head honchos and say this was a success with the GR community. Just say how great it was to get Embassy and how we look forward to more upgrades in future GRAW 2 DLC.

GOVERNMENT DISTRICT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both in the co-op and adversarial. I just want to play that level over and over and over again like I used to with SS with my friends. Crazy good gaming times there. Crazy good. And being able to do it at night would give me even momre to love about that map.

  5. How much can you tell me about the clan support for GRAW 2? The symbol tha we are able to have, is it customizeable or is it a choice from a list? and how much can I change my look this time around?

  6. hopefully it will never be free.

Took the words right outta my brain. Pay for it or ######

(my appologies to anyone offended by what I have just said but I'm getting tired of people complaining about having to pay for extra content because they think the game wasn't made the way it should have been in the first place. I'll tell you what I've not played graw in quite some time and honestly only played it for about a month after I got the DLC and I still am very happy that I paid for the DLC because I wanted it and I enjoyed it. It's going to be a new way of life to have to pay for certain things and I don't see some of you complaining when you buy arcade games on the marketplace. And I must say that outpost Kaloki X must be a very popular game for it to have stayed on the marketplace so long, 400 points for the game and another 1200 or so for all of the addition and yet noone has complained about it. if you want it you'll buy it if not you'll need to stop complaining about having to buy it if you don't plan on doing it. I get so angry I want to kick people in the taint when they complain about these things.)

  7. I'm new to GRAW and only got it for 360 after playing the xbox version, so I wanted to know what's up with enemy intels on multiplayer?

It was done perfect on xbox (scramblers, up-loading enemy intels), mainly becuase once a guy is locked, it stays that way-what the hell is the point of a nice big target if it goes away when they're under cover?

Then voila, they jump out in front of you and blow you away becuase you thought he must of died. Is this a glitch, or just stupid (like how they got rid of ladders as well)?

But one big plus, I can finaly play against Yanks with no more than 1/2 sec lag! Brilliant work UBI! (Just wish you didn't f'up FCI:Predator-you suck UBI!)

So here's a good idea tobye. Do a little research before you complain. Redstorm entertainment created this little jewel called GRAW Multiplayer. While I have my complaints I completely disagree with everything you said but thats neither here nor there. so anyway secondly why don't you just sell all of your ubi games and never buy one again andstop complaining on the boards. Oh and if you're complaining about lag with yanks it sounds like you're out of the country, if that's true then get over half a seconds lag from thousands of miles away. Better yet play with people from your own country.

  8. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Yes, I do. I have played all those games and they are not fun. The video game industry is stale and lacking creative talent. All developers do anymore is throw together ho-hum games with tons of bugs and ghey cut scenes and promote the hell out of it. I don't blame them either, it makes financial sense to do so.

Ok nice opinion go sell your x-box 360 to someone who will enjoy it and read a book or stare at a wall or something. I'm sure I speak for quite a few people when I say I don't care to hear your opinion on this subject.

  9. I'm sure I speak for Opsixdelta when I say play with our clan anytime.

    gamertags:

    MasterKain2053 and Opsixdelta.

Great just got high speed . Now onto xbox live. VIVA

Man i need to play with people a little more mature. I got one good game then the jackasses came out and just kept shooting me for no reason. Also I want to go through a campaign mission but it takes forever to start going.

Ghost I get off of work tonight around nine EST I'll be home around nine thirty or ten so if you're on and I hope you can be you me and delta and a few other friends will go through some of the campaign. If not I'm off all day friday and saturday and save for a few errands to run I can be on alot of the day.

  10. dude really if you haven't downloaded the DLC then you are not a true gammer so stop talking and get a new game. :o=

What leap of logic are you proposing that somehow links whether a person has the DLC or not to their ability to speculate on how many people have gotten the DLC and what the impact of DLC vs. Non DLC hosting will be?

As for being a true "gammer" ... I would say that a person who takes the time to make a post worth discussing about the possible impacts of changes in a game is in fact exhibiting a passion for gaming that really defines a "true gamer".

OK first things first night what makes you believe that the lack of DLC makes him not a true gamer?

Second Noone said that the person has to have DLC to speculate on how many people have purchased it, but the original poster of this topic was not speculating. It looked as if he were stating fact rather than speculation or opinion.

Third I have seen estimations of the number of people who downloaded the DLC in the first couple of days and while not staggering or mind numbing the numbers are what I expected them to be. I choose not to release the numbers because they were given in a private message and if redstorm wants them out for the public they can post them, but I will say that it is what I expected.

  11. Sounds like some points are going to be added with the next update.

I agree that a bunch of them are unattainable and in general I don't care much about gamerscore (as evidenced by my lack of points ;) ..). It just seemed strange to me that the game launched with less than 1000 but when we got Chapter 2 there were no points associated with the missions as there had been in chapter 1. Add to that that the "score" (again I would not normally pay attention to the score but we were trying to figure out a Coop Tournament format) for completing missions did not reflect whether or not the secondary objectives had been acheived seemed to indicate that pts had been planned for the Chapter 2 missions.

Yeah I find it odd as well that there was nothing for chapter two you said there will be though?

  12. Other DLC has been primarily maps ( I am thinking CoD here) and a person could join a room wiithout having the DLC even if the host did and play until one of th enew maps was chosen.

In the case of GRAW you have the new maps, as well as kit restrictions, camo and weapons. I suspect that the ability for the host to twaek servers settings down to individual weapons is part of the reason why non DLC players can not join a room hosted by those with DLC. For instance I could host temple but have canadian camo and the silenced SR25 picked.

So I think the inabilty of those without DLC to join a room is based more on the fact that the DLC was more than just maps combined with the host's ability to tweak server settings for camuo and individual weapons.

I think "uninteneded consequences" may be a fairer description then "ineptitude" because I don't really see how they could manage having players without DLC in DLC rooms with the new gametypes, camos, and weapons ... let alone maps. Even if the host chose all rpe DLC settings but did not restrict the new weapons you would have players choosing themwhich could create issues - woudl a DLC player choosing the SR25 SD create an issue playing in a room where other players did not have the DLC??

So I think that GRAW DLC (if it includes weapons, gametypes camo etc) will pose a problem in terms of those without being able to join a host that has it.

When (IF) we see chapter 3 it will be interestign to see what it contains and the price point. I am also interested in the "missing" 75 pts ... will they reappear? Was it assumed that DLC could include acheivementsbut that turned out not to be the case? It would seem that since the secondary objectives in chapter 2 do not impact the score they were meant to measure a "Perfect Chapter" acheivement ....

Not to stir up trouble but what's it matter where those "missing" 75 points are? Hell most of the points that I don't have on GRAW are unattainable because I don't play ranked matches and refuse to even try for them. To me it's missing more than 75 points but then again I'm not really that worried about my gamerscore. :o

  13. I'm sorry, but your not making a lot of sense.

What is the basis for your statement:

"Too many people are not buying the present DLC. "

???? Based on what...gut feeling? Comments by the trolls here? EVERYONE I know that plays online has bought the DLC. EVERYONE! There isn't a room I've been in that didn't have it. PERIOD!

Since you have "never" been in a room where everyone didn't have the DLC that means you have not been in a room where the host did not have DLC ...therefore no one without it could join. And that to a degree is exactly what Hamilton is saying - the DLC has divided the GRAW community into the have's and have not's. As fewer and fewer hosts are available those without DLC will look for alternative games.

Out of our active GRAW players about 10% do not have the DLC. Some only played GRAW because it was the gane of choice of the majority and don't feel like spending the $15 and are off playing different games or awaiting the release of other games. Some didn't get it because they see the potential of having to pay again for another download in the future.

I expect that just as a percentage of our group ( a group founded upon GR2 and Summit Strike) there is an equal or probably greater percentage (since I would classify even our 'Casual" GRAW players as being more wedded to the franchise than the average 360 gamer) of general 360 gamers who had GRAW but did not get the DLC. So there has been some division created between "Casual" GRAW players and "Hardcore" players.

These "Casual" GRAW players are the ones that UBI is losing since they are finding it impossible to join in games with their friends since most hosts are probably "Hardcore" and have the DLC. So they are off playing and talking about other games.

So just as the potential market for the DLC was smaller than the # of units sold at launch (some will have traded in GRAW, some will have bought GRAW but not have Live) the potential market for the 2cnd DLC is also smaller again as mor ecopies are traded in and the people that did not by Chapter 2 will not be buying Chapter 3.

So the pricing for Chapter 3 (if there is a chapter 3) will be interesting to see.

In terms of the so called trolling and Haterz ... as Beonder so eloquently puts it in his sig quote:

“Silence on your part in the face of unacceptable behavior will be perceived as approval.â€

    My opinion:

There is division, there is a huge division and it's a good thing. All of my clan got the dlc and the people I meet on a day to day basis have it. If I wanted to play the old maps constantly to cater to people in my room I would own only the old maps. The ones who don't have it made a choice and I'm not going to want to listen to people boo-hooing about the fact that they can't join a room because they don't have it. If people were joining the rooms they'd be angry and boo-hooing about the fact that noone will keep them in the room because they don't have the new content.

Personally I don't want one of my 8-12 (can't support more heh) slots taken up by someone who isn't going to be playing the game with me until i choose nowhere during the day or treasury. And I know damned well noone with the new content wants to sit around and wait to play the old content. I never heard complaints from people (I didn't follow the forums like I do here though) who bought or got the content from bungie for free and couldn't start a room because some dipstick didn't have the content. If someone in my team didn't have the new content I didn't say "oh lets play the old maps for them" I booted them. I'd gladly and quickly do it on GRAW as well because I don't want someone wasting my slots so that they can play the old maps with me. Forget that. Complain all you want but what ubi did was the right thing, not waste everyones time. Again that's my opinion.

    The Facts:

Day one 7:45 P.M. Opsixdelta calls me and tells me the d/l content is out. I use my work phone to tell my fiance that I would like her to D/L this content.

Day one 10:45 P.M. I get home from work and the DLC is still only at 25 percent. I turn off the dlc and begin playing games angry at microsoft for the long DL time.

Day two 10ish. I get up and dl the dlc it still takes me 45 minutes. PEOPLE ARE STILL DOWNLOADING THE CONTENT. The "too many people aren't buying the dlc so it must teach ubi a lesson" (no that's not verbatem) is incorrect. UBI may learn from all of the peoples complaints but too many people DID download the DLC for that to teach them not to spend alot of money. Serrellan if possible I'd like to see the number of people who have downloaded the content. Do I think the DLC was worth the money yes. Do I think it costed too much maybe a little, would I pay the same ammount for another DLC #### ####ING YES. Any day of the week I would because this content was worth the money I payed.

  14. while i feel like this is all a constructive argument, and in very very general terms i agree that i hope high cost DLC packages dont become the norm. I will have to say that at the end of the day , it comes down to one thing and one thing only. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THE DLC. its sorta like if you bought a car and then starting tricking it out. Addons for cars are and can be very expensive, but you are not forced to buy addons, it is a consumer decision. When you go to the movies, you are not forced to buy the insanely priced concessions. It is a choice. you may not like it, ....hell i dont like it. but thats what they priced it at. I think my whole view from this comes from the title of this thread. " Dont buy the DLC" first off, i dont need someone to tell me not to buy something. if i buy it and get screwed that my own fault. Personally i could say the same thing to someone who spends 30,000 dollars in addons for a honda civic, but i dont because it is their choice. No matter how stupid it is.

    Here Here.

    :thumbsup::clapping::notworthy:

  15. Is a re-lit map worth the same price as a brand new one? I don't know, but maybe it should be looked at along the lines of does that re-lit map give one a new gameplay experience and is it different enough that when that map is in rotation one would feel like they was playing something different?

I do think it does changes gameplay I'm not denying that at all. But if I'm right and it's just new lighting and nothing else (and you must know that better than I do cause I'm not a game designer), did they had to spend so much time for these changes that a higher price is on it's place or is more like: "Let there be light!" *click-click* :D and it's basically all done? (afcourse it might take a few click's extra but just to get the idea).

The fact is the relit maps change the gameplay SIGNIFICANTLY if you play the game tactically. If you dont agree, i can rest assured you are a run and gunner.

As written above I don't say that I'm just discussing whether the high price is justified nothing more nothing less.

And to everyone that is more than willing to pay the price.

First of all enjoy the game I'm not at all saying you shouldn't have bought it, that's your own decision. But now please don't say I'm a kiddie that can't afford it, as a matter of fact I can easily afford it but for me this is just a principle thing. Now they ask 25% the price of the whole game and before you know it's the standard. And like Wingshot said before they skip alot of costs cause it's just a digital file, so no packaging, material, shipping costs etc are involved. Add-ons like Island thunder and Summit Strike are fair deals this simple isn't.

I don't think that you truley believe that the new lighting of the maps has affected gameplay at all if you believe that it is nothing more than changing the lighting on the maps. to me those new maps were worth the money with everything else because IT DOES CHANGE GAMEPLAY AND GIVES ME A NEW WAY TO PLAY AN OLD MAP. And to this "it's too much I won't buy it but I can" people Why post telling us not to buy it. If you don't like it fine but don't push your opinions on me. It won't affect me or anyone else's opinion unless they are gullible. Let us make our own decision and don't post a post name don't buy the DLC it's crap. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN PURCHASED IT. Jesus you're making an un-informed post about how crappy and useless the DLC is, I purchased it soley for the SR25SD but I play it now because I've SEEN how good the DLC really is. It's the greatest thing about this game now. the new co-op is a frickin challenge, the new maps are beautiful, the relit old maps change my gameplay on those maps wonderfully and the re-lit new maps are great too. not only can I do coffee plantation's mission in the daytime but I can make it 100% harder than it already is by changing my view of things from day to night.

MY BASIC POINT HERE GUYS IS THIS:

Stop trying to tell everyone who doesn't have the DLC that it's the worst thing in the world because of the price. You haven't played it you haven't seen it. For those of you who have seen it and played it and still think it's not worth the money good, I respect that we all do in fact, but there are those of us who believe differently. I am one of them. I'm glad you're going to have 1200 points to spend elsewhere but don't try to tell others not to get it. Let them make their own frickin decision.

  16. ya know. If you don't want it don't get it, but the content is well worth the meesly points. The new maps are done incredibly well, the re-lit maps are much better than hoped for, the guns are great, ........

If you don't get it you're missing out on the best part of GRAW yet!!! to each his own i guess, but no need to complain about the cost of something that is worth it

I second what monkey here said. You guys need to get off your high horse stop telling the developers of games what a game SHOULD be and start either falling in line with the way it's going to be, you're not going to hurt these guys by not buying it, too many people already have and too many will in the future, you're not going to change the way games are moving. DLC is the future. . .get over that or, as a friend of mine has stated in the past, games like monopoly and the game of life may be just for you.

  17. I think I'm going for PS3 casue of the graphics cause I'm shallow like that

Xbox 360 can match it. And the developers won't utilize the tech and give sorry titles like the ps2

and you'l pay more. . .genius! GENIUS I TELL YOU!
