finally i want to take my hat off for those incredible stories! what a cool way to tell how the mission went, even though u got killed the way u guys wrote about it is perfect,
Thanks for the kind words hero2zero. I'm looking forward to Alpha's next missions as well. We had a LAN party w/ 8 guy's on a Saturday. We tried going through the missions w/o much success as a group. But it was still fun.I went through solo later and made it all the way through.
took several attempts but it was great.
Cheers,

Later! I got pretty close to one at lunch today. I played mission 2 for a bit.
25-30 meters, I thought that was close. When their that close it's hard not to shoot'em.

AWSOME!..... That was a great mission.
Nice telling of it as well. You tangle with the russians and everything goes south. hehehehe.
The next time we tried it we made it to the point where you go up the hill behind the russian patrol. Only the point man got to close and Blam.
I heard RETREAT! the next thing I knew 3 of use in a pile were looking at the sky. LOL.
That was fun

Thanks ARDelta! I was inspired by some of the other posts in here. I would like to see yours as well. Kinda fun. I told one of the guy's that went through that mission with me. Here's his response:

That *was* cool, although from my perspective it probably would have read more along the lines of....
This helmet is hot and sweaty, I am looking around for Scully and watching the rest of the team clamber away...I watch two of the locals walk across the courtyard and hope that none of the newbies shoot them by accident....
Scully and I are moving up the wall, taking cover behind two pillars, and I am listening to him tell the rest of the team to keep their heads down...my underwear is bunching up, should have worn briefs...I am scanning across the courtyard when through my scope I see a Russian soldier step out from behind the courtyard, he takes another step, and his head explodes in a shower of blood and skull fragments.
"Are we shooting people? I ask Scully, when another person rounds the corner.
The reply is instaneous yes as the second soldier is taken down. A third person rounds the corner and I think he is taken both by Scully and myself. The rest of the team is in chaos, I can here machine gun fire over my ear piece and a voice yelling "friendly down, friendly down". I am scanning the courtyard when the tank rounds the corner, and I am searching for a better hiding place, I pass Scully on my way to a different pillar, and look back at him in time to see him go down blood flowering at different points along his torso...it is the last thing I see as I join him in oblivion....
I should have worn briefs....

My first attempt at Gronzy from the Stealth Recon 2003 tourney.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The group of eight were smuggled into Russian controlled territory by a couple of Priests. Sitting in the basement of the Church they quickly and quietly readied their equipment and suited up for the mission. Scully looked at the faces of his compatriots. One so young he could have been his son. He didn’t like it. To many green troops. 3 of them had the experience needed for this type of mission. The rest hadn’t even been on a single mission.
The leader of Bravo company, and platoon leader. Fergusen. The leader of Alpha and himself.
Two had seen action before but not much. The rest…totally green. Right outta ranger school.
Well they’d have to do the best they could.
Fergusen gave the word and the nine headed out the back door of the Church. Bravo was taking point, Alpha Covering the right flank toward the center of the Russian town. Charlie, Scully’s squad were to watch the rear of the force as it moved through the town.
Bravo moved causiously along the building to their left. A couple of civilians came walking around the corner.
Scully breathed a sigh of relief, as his finger slackened on the trigger of his silenced M4. More for the fact that none of the newbies gunned down the man and his wife. Everyone was amped. If no one died on this mission he would be supprised.
Alpha moved across a courtyard and checked the street to the right. Scully wondered where the new guys trained. He keyed his throat mike. “ Your all bunched up Alpha… spread out”. Jeez… this was going to be bad. They were walkin across the courtyard like a damn Sunday stroll through the park. Cocky young bloods Scully thought out loud.
Charlie consisted of himself the squad leader and a long time friend of his Scythe. They sat crouched at opposite corners and watched Alpha and Bravo company’s move. Scully’s ear piece came alive with Fergusen alerting them of the Russian patrol up the street to the left. Next to a building that resembled a pile of rubble, Fergusen gave Alpha the go ahead to move up.
The Russian soldier threw his cigarette down and crushed it out with his heel. He was disappointed at being selected for this post. It was cold out. Why on earth did they have to patrol this miserable town. Much of it was reduced to rubble in the many years of rebel fighting in the area. No rebels were even close now. He guessed the towns people needed to feel protected. He imagined someone on in the town had a friend in the upper ranks of the Russian military. As he swung his .50 cal back up the street he thought of the nice shot of vodka and fire place waiting him in another hour when he got of his shift. He caught a movement at the left of the building up the street. Could have been anything. He lifted the binoculars slung around his neck and surveyed the buildings up the street by the Church. Nothing, probably some towns people out for a walk. No wait…there was a strange movement. Then someone left the corner of the building walking away from him….someone wearing combat fatigues…..
“What is wrong with these guy’s Scully thought as he watched two of Alpha’s team leave the cover on the right of the court yard walking upright like there wasn’t a care in the world.
Scully moved up the left side of the courtyard and positioned himself halfway between the street and the Church. Crouching behind a brick pillar he keyed his mike. “ You might want to keep your heads dow……”
There was a sudden burst of heavy machine gun fire as the last of Alpha cleared the courtyard. Tracers flew up the street at an steep angle. Someone down the hill was firing up the street. After a quick burst the firing stopped. Scully braced himself next to the pillar. He re-checked the safety was off on his weapon.
Alpha and Bravo continued up the street. Scully strained his eyes at the far right corner of the courtyard.
Sweat trickled down from under his Kevlar helmet, rolled down his cheek and under his chin. A Russian soldier came into view. He was looking up the street toward Alpha. Scully knew the rules of engagement on this mission. Don’t engage the Russians echoed in his head. He adjusted his grip on the M4 brought the butt to his shoulder and sighted the Russian up. If he took one more step…..
He slid his hand up and switched to semi-auto mode. The Russian took a step forward…..It was the second to the last thing he ever did. Scully watched the bullet hit the Russian right under the left side of his chin. A red puff filled the scope of the M4. Then he watched the Russian topple over staring blankly at the cloudy sky.
Scully heard Scythe say was that you…did you fire…no time to answer. Another Russian moved up. Scully thought this was the end. He prayed a silent prayer of forgiveness flipped the M4 to burst mode and squeezed the trigger.
The three bullets impacted the Russians body and carried him off his feet about 5 yards. A third Russian came around the corner. His suppressed M4 kept the muzzle flashes down and so his position was still unknown.
He dropped the third Russian before he could even bring his weapon level. After all this is what Scully had been trained for. That’s when the Russian tank clanked around the corner. Scully moved behind the pillar. The Russian tank spotted the civilian couple and mowed them down. Scythe moved to another pillar and the tank driver caught the motion and the heavy machine gun on the tank swung around and started strafing the entire area.
Scully felt a push behind him…it was Scythe. He’d never see his face though at that moment bullets ripped around and through the brick pillar. Scully felt something tug at his hip…..then his chest…then the warm feeling of his blood soaking his clothes. He looked at the motionless body of Scythe laying next to him and wondered what he could have done different. He heard cries in his ear mike of the rest of the team they were getting wiped out as well… he slumped to the ground….”Friendly Down” echoing in his head. He looked at the sky.....It had been less then six minutes since they crept out of the Church.... Then blackness……..

Oh yea..., Chavez, one other thing. On the first mission we made it through the mine field and made it to the tunnel to take the back route to the terrorist safe house.
In the tunnel someone accidently shot the team mate in front of him. (Yes while walking)
This alerted the two man patrol on the terrorist safehouse side of the tunnel which then engaged us at the end of the tunnel. After killing them we were chillin to see what would happen next and shortly we heard a bunch of firing. I switched to the map and saw a dark red diamond on the bridge. Then more firing and the two terrorists that come out of the adjoinging alley on the right of the alley to the safehouse died.
It was the weirdest thing. Our remaining members were all in the tunnel. Someone waxed the three terrorists down that alley. Was it the Russians patrol? Anyway saved us the hassle on that round.
Cheers,
Scully

Well we had the LAN party on Sat. Ugh. We couldn't even make it through the first mission w/o the nubies kill a couple of our own guy's.

I'm looking forward to doing them w/o the new guy's. We still had great fun. We made it through mission to with two out of nine left. That was good. It allowed us to score better w/o everyone else.
Then we decided to just do some team against team rounds. We knew it wasn't going to get any better with so many green recruits. Loads of fun though anyway. 9 hours of Ghost Recon was a blast no matter the outcome.
Thanks for the missions Alpha.

Congrats BAD and good job to everyone. I look forward to the playing the missions and watching the replays w/ sound!

The Missions and briefings are awsome! I'm having a mini-LAN party on the first and it's based totally on the SR2003 mission. I've been emailing bits and pieces of the briefings for the last two weeks to 7 other guy's. They're chompin at the bit to get into them. All of us are fairly new to GR. 4 Haven't even played yet
Two are driving up from Oregon (to WA) just to play. I'm stoked. Great effort on the missions and intel briefings Alpha....Kudos Chavez. Well done. Thanks for making them available for everyone else. Rocky it's nice to see a site that is so dedicated and well monitored. Keeps the goons away.Hats off to you.

SWEET!Thanks Chavez

If I wasn't married w/ 3 kids and one in the oven I would join!
However due to the circumstances you never know when you
might have to change a diaper.....

Most clans don't like someone who can't be at practice consistanly
or has to go break up a feud during a match.

Anyway site looks cool.
Cheers,
Scully
