I just set everything to high in the settings XML (texture_quality" value="medium" /> to High didnt work but when i set everything else on high i got the high quality textures!!) (at 1024*768)
And the framerate was the same as when i had everything on low at 800*600 ...
Do you think that this is because i only have 1 GB RAM (.. its low quality RAM, too...)?
i wrote that in an other thread, too:

So i installed that Fraps-thing to show the FPS and the result is a little wired ..
when i put everything on high (textures on medium..) at 1280*1024, average FPS are 25-30. And it look soo nice!!. Ok but when i put evereything on low at 800*600 the fps are exactly the same?!
.. so my hope is that its not the graphiks card that makes graw run at only 25-30 FPS but the system RAM?!
3000+ CPU should be ok, 7600GT, too. But 1 GB RAM is just the minimum to play the game?
does anyone have a 7600GT but 2GB RAM?

On this system it looked great and that was Beta 4.

Do you know if the system you played on had 2 6800s (SLI) or just one?

It would be nice if you could chose between some differnt kind of load bearing equipment (but it should actualy suit to the primary weapon you have: SAW pouches if you use the M249). And between different headwear (nothing at all, helmet, boonie or an old special forces baseball cap
)I dont need my own face in the game but would be cool if you have some faces to choose from (with different beard styles

as allmost everyone here i'm going to upgrade my 5 year old pc for GRAW
But i have low buget for the upgrade ... max. 450€ ...
so it will be:
- new mainboard (with nForce 4 if that matters?)
- 3000+ AMD
- nVidia 7600GT
- 1GB RAM
will this be okay for GRAW? (sure not all on high but medium?)
And two more questions:
At the moment i cant effort an other 1 GB RAM cause GRAW isnt for free
When i saved enough money for one more GB RAM does it have to be the exact same chip (same manufactor)? or can i buy any 1024 MB chip?
And would it be possible to use my old 512 MB RAM in the new machine?
I dont know too much about all the specs the memory has to be PC400 .. 3200 and what not ..
I just know that my current pc is 4-5 years old and has 2x 256MB RAM
possible to use these?

I have to say that even though I like the look of the weapons and I’m very happy to have weapon view which I missed in GR1, I feel the surface textures of the weapons are a little dull and muddy. I don’t get a metallic feel or even a ceramic one or whatever they are made off. It’s got a real ‘drawing’ feel to it. Maybe this is because the vids are not full res though.
You dont want your weapon to look metallic, shiny or new! thats why you spray paint your weapon with krylon (ultra flat) to make it look dull and muddy!

one question: will it be possible to choose between EOTech and Aimpoint sights for all rifles? On the view sceens of the weapon selection there is just one button for 'combat sight'. Does that mean there will be just one specific sight for one specific rifle?

One more weapon related question:
When you aim with the iron sights or eotech/aimpoint will the view be slightly zoomed in? In some games the the iron sight view is completly useless in short ranges because of the zoom (e.g. Americas Army).

If they want to have the EoTech sight model 100% correct the red dot / circle should not be visible with the weapon in that "low ready" position .. but it sure looks cooler that way

Low framerate with good gfx card?

And i used onboard soundcard!
My framerate was ALWAYS (everything on low OR everything on high!) between 17-28!
Then i wanted to turn off the backround music and i also set the sound quality from high to medium.
And that gave me around 5-10 fps more!
Now i installed my old soundblaster and .. WOW!!
Framerate is always above 40 everything on high!! (And sound quality on exelent!)
So maybe the problem some people have with low framerates is because of useing the onboard sound?!
