  1. Really quick, minor, "bug": When mapping custom keys in the "options, controls" menu, the line is highlighted yellow...well the yellow highlight covers up the control instruction, e.g. forward, back, etc.; but the key, e.g. w,s, is opaque and still visible. Kind of annoying since I'd have to scroll up and down and then back to remember which item I was on.
  2. I've got an Auzentech Xplosion DTS sound card running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. Game automatically detects "general hardware" and "medium setting" for sound. On this setting, or any setting under "general hardware", sounds from my own gun are extremely, extremely quiet. I had posted about this before so that GRIN would be aware of it. Just thought I'd update you...yesterday I discovered that if I set it to "general software" all sounds seem to work properly. Just a heads up b/c I know they're working on sound issues. Odd, as this is one of the best soundcards, albeit less known than the
  3. News of a delay is a good thing, there were enough bugs in the Demo that warranted fixing, and thus a delay. No problem with me.
  4. Updated to the latest drivers for my Auzentech X-Plosion sound card and still no sound from my weapons in Vista 32-bit. Pretty big deal b/c there is no audio confirmation that I'm firing my weapon. Also, re-mapped key binds ~ thru 4 for still do not function. Any idea on these two items, Grinners? TYIA,
  5. 1) No sound from my weapon. All other sounds are fine. Auzentech HDA X-plosion 7.1, Vista Ultimate 32-bit. Auto-detect picks "generic hardware" and sets it to "extreme". I just checked and there are updated drivers out for this sound card - I will try updating them tonight and reporting back. 2) Sometimes the bullets icons indicating rate of fire do not change, even though I'm changing my rate of fire from full-auto to single-shot 3) I re-mapped my weapon-selection keys (i.e. 1 is primary, ~ is secondary, 2 is GL, etc) and they do not work. Have to hold down the "weapon list" key (m
  6. I like the Demo...very fun gameplay both on RvsA and TDM. Good: General gameplay, variety of weapons, etc Bad (the good far outweighs the bad): Weapon selection screen sucks - want to pick my weapon with scopes, gl, etc...no way of knowing what attachments I'll spawn with until I learn that kit. Auto-respawn should be turned off so I have time to pick weapon of my choice. Who killed who text on right side of screen is still way too big (thank you for toning it down from Beta). It should be just normal small text and moved to upper left corner to utilize that space. Like others,
  7. The Walking Dead Army will not have a server up at demo or immediate release. However we'll probably have a dedicated Human Vs. Human server up about a week into release. There are a few people in my clan excited for the release, the rest really don't care or are waiting for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. CAM and I will be running the WDA GR:AW2 division.
  8. Screens definately look great. The first screen remind anyone else of Roadblock, I think it was map D07 from [GR], Desert Siege expansion? Obviously tough to tell but that was my initial thought.
  9. I also received my e-mail from UBIsoft, it says: "You have successfully registered to the beta test for GRAW2 PC. Here is the information to start playing the beta version and how to submit bugs. Download the beta version (using a ftp client): Host : elephanta.ubisoft.fr Login : XXXXX Password : XXXXX Set up your connection as active (generally by unchecking the box "passive mode")" Problem is my Login and Password don't work when accessing the FTP through IE7 in Vista. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe I need to use a different medium to access the FTP source?
  10. not for me its a prefect time for a new game. with it being 120 + out side during that time. its stay out of the heat time!!!!!!!!!!! lol Amen to that, these Virginia summers are a lot worse then the Montana summers I grew up in. I agree with JASGripen in his original post. I have about half as much time in front of my computer come June than I do in March. I'd rather drink beer and hit on babes in bikinis on my lake than stare at my computer screen! On another note, I'm assuminig no one in here was surprised by the delay. That said, would anyone be surprised by another de
  11. If I remember correctly GR:AW was delayed a bunch of times as well and people (including myself) kept saying the same thing - "it'll give them time to finish it!" Well, we all know how that turned out. I love GR as much as the next guy, and I hope that this time we're pleasantly surprised. -Slayer
  12. The French have an Army??? The screens look good, I'm all about the simple things - for the love of God, give us a stripped-down easy to use pre and post-action interface. No more double clicking to get our weapons - copy the [GR] interface would be perfect. Second, all I want is a key bind to bring up a full screen map, with grid lines! This simple feature is a necessity for matches!
  13. Usually not seeing the server info is due to your files not matching the server. Are you sure you don't have the beta instead of full patch? our server is up on 1.30 full... AttackforceZ.com [TDM 1.30] Test it there as it's definately the full version. Thanks Roco. I figured out I had to delete all the custom maps in my "local" folder, then I was able to get it work - am now able to connect to everything. Rock on!
  14. I cannot join any server. I can the message: "unable to join, could not connect to server." Also, when I click on the "server info" tab no statistics of the server will show up. I was one of the beta testers, but I first installed right over the beta, didn't work. I then deleted the entire GR:AW folder and replaced it with the backup I had made pre-beta, installed the newest patch, and still I cannot connect to any server. I even deleted everything in my "local" folder (only contained folders called french, german, polish, italian, spanish) to no avail. Very weird, anyone have any other
  15. I also cannot find the beta anywhere on the FTP - just the folders all you gongshows have created - quite disapointing as I was looking forward to testing the product and helping improve the series.
  16. Someone that has been involved from the beginning please make an executive decision on the date and time, so that people can plan accordingly. To me it would make the most sense to reschedule for September (like AOD Redmonster suggested) so that more GRIN guys can make it. Plus, hopefully the 3rd patch will be out by then.
  17. Once a date and time is CONFIRMED, please make this a sticky or something - as of right now I'm in for this Saturday the 26th! Also, I will talk to other WDA guys about hosting on one of our dedicated servers. I'll try and post back here shortly. Lookin' forward to it!
  18. I played for over 3 hours last night, which is the longest duration I have ever played this game in one sitting. Find the right server, and Team Deathmatch is a blast - it went a long way in creating the tension and gameplay of [GR]. Get into AFZ's server - 10 minutes, 3 respawns, good players, and the donkeys running full speed around the map get their ass kicked in about 17 seconds. Much more tactical, which is superb. I was also a big fan of the two new maps. Great Job GRIN, my request list just got a lot shorter, which now includes: Key to bring up full-size version of Map, compl
  19. Good job Grin, I guess. It's nice that there are multiple HH options and gametypes, that ought to spice it up a bit. One thing I find rather annoying is that it doesn't seem like you'll be able to play every game type on every map. I wonder what the reason for that is? I also agree with others that Dedicated (or Stand Alone) server files are most important and should've been first on the list. Don't spaz Rabbi, I know they are coming, just like everyone else. Looking forward to playing this patch...just need to keep 'em comin'...
  20. There is nothing scientific about this, but I'm curious if anyone agrees... Just based on responses to this thread, it already seems like the community response and interest is dwindling. Currently only 4 pages of responses to a 24-hour old thread featured on the front page of GR.net. A post of this nature and content 1 month ago would've proably generated 10 pages in the first 24 hours. Again, nothing scientific, but just a casual observation - anyone else agree or thinking the same thing? Now, back to topic, decent patch that goes a long way in making the game right. It will make i
  21. Well said 12Gauge, it is amazing how embarassingly little information is portrayed in the current MP lobby and throughout the MP match. I completely agree with your last sentence - the exact same MP lobby screen would be excellent, or something that at least displays comparable information. They're working on it, I suspect that it will come soon enough...
  22. I also think that conspicious by it's abscence is the Siege game type! That provided hours of endless fun...
  23. "Open box surgery on my pc." I'm sorry, but that was pretty funny! I feel for ya buddy, I tried the demo on my P3 1 Ghz w/32 MB Video card and honestly all I get is a black screen where I can see my muzzle flashes, it's hilarious! Thankfully I planned my upgrade for GR:AW and all my new parts should be here by next week!
  24. Thought I'd check in with EB games...their website has now been changed to read "pre-release ETA: 5-2-06." Don't know exactly what this means, but I'm surmising that EB games will have some in stock come May 2nd. http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=646351 That's the link, thought it was at least interesting enough to warrant a post.
