  2. I looked up my account on UBI and I too see that is has been shipped and that my credit card has been charged. I called the support number on my purchase confirmation email to ask what that is all about. The guy I spoke with told me that the game has shipped from the warehouse to the distribution center but as of yesterday (4/28/06) the game has not yet arrived. He told me that they were expected to arrive today, (Friday 4/29/06) and that they would be shipping from there either today or tomorrow and I should receive it early next week.
  3. I've got a quick question, I say quick because I'm about to purchase a new video card. I can get an ATI Radeon X850 Pro (AGP) for $272.95 Or I can get an ATI Radeon X850 Platinum (AGP) for $325+ On the same site that is listing the non-Platinum version the Platinum version lists for $438.95. Can anyone tell me if there is that much a difference that I should go with the more expensive one? Thanks
  4. I think if your going to wait for anything 'new' to come out, you wait about 6 months until you buy it and work with it. The reason for this is two fold. One, the prices ussually drop dramatically after a 'new' item has been out for that long. And second, and to me more importantly, you get 6 months of history that determine if the new item is as great as its supposed to be and it's also had 6 months of use by others who have found all the bugs and problems associated with the new item. At 6 months the manufacturer has ussually had time to fix these problems and has released new drivers. So, unless you enjoy trying to figure out why your brand new system is crashing all the time, I would suggest you go with technology that is at least 6 months old and leave the all the potential problems and headaches to all the super geeks out there who enjoy that kind of stuff. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Is there supposed to be a demo? I haven't heard anything about this? Is the release date still scheduled for the beginning of March? When is the demo supposed to come out?
  6. I'm also planning on upgrading my Video card. I am planning on getting the RADEON x850. Anyone know where to get the best price. I've been looking on eBay and it looks like I should be able to get one for less than $250. (I'm restricted to the AGP card as my mobo doesn't support the PCI-express)
  7. Where can I get the CPU-Z application you used for those screen shots? ← Never mind, I found the link after I posted. Thanks
  8. Where can I get the CPU-Z application you used for those screen shots?
  9. Thanks for the info. My motherboard manufacturer supplied the following information. ChipSet: nVidia nForce2 Ultra-400 (nForce2-128 SPP) + MCP-T AGP set System Memory: Three 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets Support single-sided or double-sided 2.5v DDR-266/333/400 DIMMs with dual channel architecture in 64/128/256/512/1024Mb technologies Based on what you have told me about the nForce2-128 chipset, I'll want to install my 1gb module in slot 0 and then have my 2 512 modules in slots 1 & 2. I'm still don't know what dual-channel is but I'm assuming that I want my 2 512 modules running in that mode and my 1gb module will run in a single channel by itself. Thanks for all the help.
  10. I'm currently in the process of upgrading my PC for the release of GRAW and wanted to get some advice on memory upgrade. I've currently got 2 512 memory sticks and am adding a third 1gb memory stick. I have three slots for memory and was hoping someone could tell me where the 1gb stick should go in relation to the other two. Is there a specific place the larger stick should go? All three sticks are the same with the exception of the size (DDR PC2700 333 fsb etc...). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm upgrading my video card from a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 to a ATI Radeon x850. I decided on the x850 based on info found elsewhere in this forum. After deciding on this card I started pricing the x850 and found that the x850 comes in many different styles. My motherboard does not support the PCI express so that rules out some but there are still multiple AGP styles. For instance there is a Platinum edition. I'm willing to spend up to $250. If anyone could comment on anything relating to the video card and perhaps suggest my best course of action should be I would again be greatly appreciative.
  11. I have the original receipt from the first two. I'll buy the same stick from the same maker (Crucial).
  12. Currenly I've got 2 512 ram sticks. Would there be any problem with filling my 3rd slot with another 512 stick, or should I go with a 1gb stick. In other words, would there be any adverse side effects to having 1.5 gb memory as opposed to 2 gb?
  13. I've always used one of the GeForce cards and haven't had any problems. I'm currently using a GeForce 4600ti and it's been great for every game up until recently. Anyway, with GRAW on the way I figured it's time to upgrade. I've read through all 6 pages of this posts and looked at many of the sites referenced. I don't do any bench test and that, I just like to play the games. So, not being a highly technical person and being on a budget here is what I've determined. I'm either going to buy the GeForce 6800GS or the Radeon X850. These seem to fall within my budget of $250. I read the post about the difference between these to and it seems to be that it's only personal preference. My question is this. For $250 are these two cards the best for that range? Is there another card I should consider? Also, my CPU is only a AMD 2400+ and I'm running 1gb ram. Will this be sufficient or should I consider an upgrade in one of those areas as well?
  14. December is winter 2006 also. The point is, Winter is much more vague than February. I wouldn't expect a release until April at best.
  15. I went on UBI's site a pre-purchased GR3 and it said the shipping date would be November 8th. After hearing about the delay in the release I was ###### and cancelled my order. Just yesterday I went back in an started to order it again, expecting it to say the shipping date would be sometime if February, but it was not. The UBI site says that the PC version can be expected to ship Winter of 2006. Here we go again!
