  1. Whew, I hope your right! :P  I was bummed, because I thought I might have to buy a new tv to play this game.   The game looks THAT good.

No, no....you're fine. Trust me, 1080i looks amazing...even when converted from a 720p signal.

I was worried about the same thing but believe me.....I don't worry about that anymore. ;)

  2. From the way i understand it all games come in 720p as a standered, but if your TV doesn't support 720p it switchs to 1080i by defualt. Yet i would still go through and switch it back to 480p in the system display if i was you than everything well go right to 480p instead of 1080i.

All you got to do is just choose what set up you want in the system display that your HDTV can handle and your all set to go. So like you said your HDTV does 480p and 1080i so these two are the ones you want to choose from. Again i would go with 480p over 1080i becuase it gives out a much smoother picture when there is action on the screen, but than again the choose is all yours. 1080i is alittle more sharper over 480p, but in 480p it gives off a much less blur when in action or if you play slow type of game than 1080i all day.

    Edit:

Sorry BIGOLBRAIN we must of been typen at the same time there.

    No problem WitchKnot. :)

It's up to the dev what native res willl be supported. COD2 supported 480p, 720p and 1080i all native. However PDZ only supported 720p native but the 360 converts it to 1080i if that's what you have the 360 set to.

1080i is massively better than 480p...there is just no comparison between the two. It's 720p that much smoother and looks just as good if not better than 1080i.

I play in 1080i and never see any blur but I have a fairly good 1080i set so I don't know. I never even see it with racing games or anything that's fast moving but I have heard others say they have seen it on their tv.

Anyway, if your TV supports 1080i then just set the 360 to 1080i. Doesn't matter what res the game is native because the 360 is going to convert it for you anyway. And don't worry it will look great either way.

EDIT: Don't set the 360's setting to 480p and 1080i. Keep it at 1080i only...that's the native res of your TV and the best your tv offers. :)

  3. I think it's native 720p and that's it but I could be wrong. All the high res screens were in 720.

But the 360 will convert the 720p signal to 1080i anyway.

I know it's not native 1080i but it will still look amazing. Perfect Dark was in native 720p but it looked damn good converted to 1080i so don't worry about it.

But still I might be wrong....it might support all of them native. :)

  4. When characters in your squad speak it shows there face. like they have a webcam floating infront of them.

The people come up on the screen and talk to much. Distracts from gameplay IMO.

Voice acting isnt to bad, some parts could use a little work.

personally I would say Ditch the part where the guy in the chopper tells you how to use the UAV on the field and just make training missions instead.

I agree with these things as well. Though I didn't watch the video I have noticed them before.

  5. If it's only SP...which I imagine it will be.....prob even the demo (1st level..is my guess),

Well it says.... "Join GR Community Manager "HangtownSOG" and the Frag Dolls' own Seppuku at the tricked out UGO booth for your shot to try out the game, or watch others engage in multiplayer madness."

So I'm sure they will have system link games going. I'm dying to hear from someone not related to the media give their opinion on how the multiplayer looks and plays.

  6. Don't games usually go Gold like 2-3 weeks out from the release date? If it has gone Gold please enlighten me but this kind of worries me.

Good question. But I think they only need about a week after gold to get it on the shelves. Could be wrong but Bethesda did it that fast with Morrowind from what I remember.

  7. "After months of wait, one of the most anticipated X360 game finally shows up. Right there for you, seventeen minutes of urban assault in the heart of Mexico: the integral first level of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. As the video speaks very much for itself, I just want you to know that this version is far from being definitive. If you were thinking about complaining for popping, tearing, audio mix, animation or framerate problems, think again. Also, some textures are still in low resolution. This is a january preview code, and everything should be in its right place when the game comes out. Enjoy the show. - xboxyde.com"

I'm not going to watch it....I have seen enough of the 1st lvl. I need some kind of surprise.....but I sure would like some HD multiplayer videos. :)

  8. Wouldn't happen for me.  I think I've burned my bridge with the pc guys....and I believe they run the site for the most part.  Evidently sticking up for the console side isn't much appreciated on the pc boards.

I have been fair the whole time stating both pros and cons of both platforms but to much is just to much I guess.  :)

No, I think it's just that PC gamers on the whole aren't bothered about the console updates etc. That's all we hear and see is more about the console. We want PC info. Plain and simple.

I don't blame you guys for wanting more....you haven't had anything at all. :)

But I'm mostly talking about a reply from RatoN:

"It’s just that your constant defending of 360 like it was your sister, each time somebody says something about the box comparing it to the PC version on the PC forum is getting old bro imo."

So I felt like I wore out my welcome over there and just figured the rest of you guys felt the same way.

    No big deal though.... :)

  9. mod position?
