  1. There's still a lot to be done but here are some screenshots of mp_embassy http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...Qg/shot0005.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...eA/shot0006.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...kQ/shot0007.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...XQ/shot0008.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...bw/shot0009.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...JA/shot0010.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...iw/shot0011.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...wA/shot0012.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...Dw/shot0013.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...cw/shot0014.jpg http://rb2ifq.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pLel...aw/shot0015.jpg [Edit: Oversize images changed to URLs Please see Forum Rule 3.14]
  2. This link will also be usefull since it has video's http://74.53.27.194/~joostd/videotutorials-cod2.php Btw I'dd really like to set up a mod team for GR maps and GR-like maps. I've got a free subdomain with PHP/MySQL so we can actually set up a site. I've recently installed Joomla but didnt configure anything yet.
  3. I see you're Dutch. You should have a look here> http://74.53.27.194/~joostd/tutorials-cod4.php
  4. I'm building a mod for CoD4 At first I will try to make MP_Embassy as a nice intro. Ben has worked on the .map file back in CoD2 days. Im now busy fixing some errors he made and retexturing everything. I'm lookin for people who are interested in helping. For some early screenshots look here: http://www.ghostleague.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16 There's still lots and lots of work to do but the beginning is there. Catch me on MSN @ sjuulj@hotmail.com Greetz Obeleh
  5. Also have a look at our side project. A GhostMod for CoD4 starring MP_Embassy http://www.ghostleague.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16
  6. I dont want to bash Grin for trying to do a good job but IMO for GRAW1 a port from Xbox to PC would maybe have drawn a lot more gamers towards GRAW PC. If Grin only had as much resources as GRAW XBox had I think we would have had a game close to what we hoped GRAW to be. So this time with GRAW2 I wont be buying it rightaway anymore but to me some things have to be included to the game first
  7. Grin should know how often other games get bashed. And not like the soft kind of stuff around here. You guys should be proud of what you've done already and especially for the fact that you guys actually make contact with the scene. I have never really seen this before. Here it feels like we are being listened to and that's just good. The patch will defenately make a whole lot of people unhappy. Even if the patch makes the game better. You will ALWAYS have people who think differently. But if you see how other company's release their patches... Its hard to do it worse Just let us see how you guys have meant the game to be along with the mainstream wishes of the community. I have been waiting a long while for a game like this to be released you wont loose me on a few things I dont like. Lists would have been lots and lots longer if we told you guys what we did like I have played other games and I can say that the GR scene is one of the more mature scenes. But you'll always have the rotten apples. Im just very happy with the game and I'm sure I will be even more happy when the patch is released
  8. I hope this soon meets reality. I've read about it before but seing it on GotFrag is just nice http://www.gotfrag.com/portal/story/29781/ A GPU (and I see GRINS banner on AGEIGA's site) would prolly bring us closer to demo's I think. oh and check this out http://personal.inet.fi/atk/kjh2348fs/ageia_physx.html
  9. I know its not so nice to say but really in my opinion if a game doesnt have something to record either Halflive TV formatted or ClientSide formatted demo's then plz dont mind making a multiplayer at all. (i'dd like to add that I never EVER finished the GR Singleplayer set) I played CoD -> Never did singleplayer CS 1.6 and CSS -> I think I should be proud enough to say that I have seen someone else playing singleplayer. You wont get more then that. In my opinion making demo's should be easy even for the new GR. Just record the start positions and every data send to the server. Save that not save the output. If someone was to watch the demo I dont think he'dd mind that his PC would have to calculate the outcome of all inputs. Maybe it would be conciderable to make a game function that would convert these inputs into a demo or even avi file no matter even if this would be 1 GB big. You'dd still have the input file. Or just record starting positions and al data packages received by the server (or sent by client. in case of client-demo-type) In order to copensate interpolation, extrapolation errors you could have moments where the server would save the "current status" so that like every 30 seconds you'dd have a fresh start and would not add multiple errors/differences together If there wont be any demo's I dont think I'dd concider buying the game to play it online. I'll stick to CSS or CoD2 perhaps. Why is it that every (plz dont flame me if there actually is one) game has demo's and here comes along UBI saying "Nah we dont do that kind of stuff it's to hard for us" UBI you've failed the community LOTS AND LOTS of times. Many bugs, no new updates, no promised GR2 (even after waiting 2 or 3 times longer then we expected to wait) UBI always put console in front of PC players. Although I feel that PC gamers where the ones that made UBI and GR a succes. I am deelply dissapointed AGAIN. The day that I see this new GR will prolly be the last time I hear about it. Sry about it but this all makes me a little sad and upset. Hope you can understand it.
