yeah i mean please people..... CAN WE MOVE ON ALREADY, it has been said many many many times now, that all that stuff is optional. Dont negatively mention it any more, we GET IT. you dont like diamonds, turn them off. lets dont let the forums turn into the halo forums .

OP6, I didn't think you liked me much. Heh.
I don't think weapon customizations will be in the 360 build. In fact, I'd bet against it. The main reason being: If they were allowing that type of weapon freedom, they would've told us by now.
Personally, I love that stuff. I’m all about the options and freedom. (As unpopular as this example might be here… I liked those options in Socom 3. A lot.) I guess we'll have to take it one step at a time, though... this time around RSE really listened and they did open up our game types and lift/change those weird character-model restrictions... these are things we were begging them to do. And they put in the effort and delivered. That alone will extend the life of GRAW and our enjoyment of online play. It’s pretty cool to play a match and recognize one of your individual clanmates just by his characters’ appearance. Weapons customization would be an extension of that, and I would’ve loved having customizable weapons in GRAW.
But at some point you have to ship the game, you know? I think that weapon customization should be on the top of the list for the next game, and that the community needs to make it clear, that, to us, those types of options are a priority.
My thoughts on it anyway. Having them in there would be a nice surprise… just doesn’t seem likely, at this point.
lol, no no actually "sometimes" i disagree with some of your ideas , but i always read your posts cause they are pretty much always well thought out ideas or opinions. And again, i read them because most i agree with or have the same point of view. But yeah i agree with you on this, seems like they would have announced something by now.

Sounds like a great idea...... But also a different title.
While the ability to customize weapons etc. makes for a more individual experience, where do you stop? and how long would it be before squads and coops resembled armed gangs of tricked-out mercenaries rather than organised, military units.
It would be great to have another variation on the combat sim to keep me busy, but as far as I'm concerned, GR is great as it is, standardised weapons and uniforms included.
well. customizing your weapon, is an extremely common practice in special forces. i am sure some of the more knowledgeable people on this forum (whiteknight , nyr, colin, etc) would probably agree with me. For example look at the m4 and its numerous customization and addons. Adding a particular scope or say a foregrip doesnt make you a mercenary.....to me it adds a bit of rpg type depth to the gameplay. and when you say standardized weapons......what do you mean. the weapon list in the game maybe standard to you, but not particularly standard to a typical U.S. special forces team......i dont see to many U.S. army spec ops guys walking around with AUG's....just a thought. reckless you got any thoughts on this....?

I would be surprised if it were in the 360 version.
yeah i agree, i would be surprised as well if it were in there, however, i would be more surprised that they are touting these "1000 multiplayer options" thing, but then dont let me put a foregrip, or larger capacity mag or something in there......grrr.

So on the GR desktop intel widget, i noticed the other day it said for the pc version of GRAW the weapons will be customizable, for example, suppressors, tac. grips, scopes, laser sights etc. I was curious though, since the 360 version of graw has been confirmed to have profiles that you can setup and save, that include info such as class, uniform, custom head gear, faces etc. would this include weapon customizations as mentioned for the pc version. I truly hope so, as i would rather be able to customize my gun rather than say my face paint etc. Hopefully this important option is not just for the pc version. Has anyone heard otherwise. I really want to set my A2 up with suppressor, and scope, and all that.

wow, to be honest i didnt even realize.. i thought i heard that every "sp campaign" mission was playable in coop. THIS ISN"T TRUE?????? thats a big dissappointment for me personally. i guess it makes sense, since the sp and mp was done by different devs.
-
i agree brimstone, HOWEVER., one thing that plagues ghostrecon summit strike on xbox live is that even when you have a great connection, most of the time as soon as you get more than 6 in on a coop game someone gets pinged out. or sometimes multiple people. i hope they work out the stability of many people on a map this time.

Correction, OPSIXDELTA: Ubisoft had the first demo ... on the OXM hybrid disc (Xbox & Xbox 360 demos). They haven't had any content on the marketplace as of yet. As for a mid-February demo, that was simply wishful thinking by some of our members here.
ah, gotcha. thanks for the clear up. here's hopin.

Yup, (not including PC and Xbox1) you have two totally different games. You basically have GRAW and GR2.5 coming in the same box.
This is not much different than what Ubi did w/ SC:CT. I really, really don't like this type of development. And I don’t so much have a problem w/ what Red Storm is doing... I like those guys a lot and they seem to really be trying to please the fanbase... my problem is w/ UBISOFT thinking they can package two different games together and people wont notice or care. How do you make huge improvements in graphics, animation and gameplay in your sequel and not expect people to feel gypped when they start up a MP game and none of its there? I really hope someone in the games media gives these guys a hard time about this.
Knock off some points on the review. Maybe that’ll get their attention. It’s tantamount to packaging GR2 w/ [GR] MP. (Some people may’ve liked that, actually. But that’s really just a copout)
while i dont always agree with stuff you say regarding graw reckless, i do agree with you on this. while the new mp videos look great to me, it does look more like gr2.5 and then graw sp being packaged together. you are right sc:ct was like this. chaos theory sp and coop were great but the adversial mode was almost strikingly different in a bad way. anyway good call. i for one will be happy with the multiplayer because i play alot of gr:ss, with friends and we have a lot of fun with it. i will say alot of people say gr2 is run and gun, and i will agree that it may seem that way especially compared to gr orignal, HOWEVER, me and my friends play gr2 and ss as a very slow, tactical type way, and we almost always slaughter the run and gunners, anyways, i am looking forward to graw now a lot more than i was originally, based simply on the fact that it looks like they have made some strides recently, also kimi likes it so hopefully it will rock.

it seems like ubisoft likes the xbox live marketplace since they were one of the first ones to put a demo on it wiith king kong, , and with gamerpictures etc. so i heard on these forums that they or someone at ubi hinted at a mid feb demo , is this confirmed or has anyone heard more about that? thanks. ubi, redstorm......can you answer????????

I have mixed feelings about these vids. It’s like a much improved GR2. It appears to play more like GR2 than GRAW SP. I just cannot fathom why that is, or how a company can think that is acceptable.
UBISOFT, if you're reading: I don't like this recent trend I'm seeing with your AAA franchises... where you create a new SP experience and then slap on a MP component that feels eerily similar to the previous game, but w/ updates.
You guys pulled this BS with SC:CT and it wasn’t cool (even though the MP was still cool... it was basically pandora tomorrow w/ updates). It didn’t feel one damn bit like the awesome SP game.
I’m sure you guys have your reasons, and I don’t pretend to understand the in's and out's of game development’s business side...
But...
I am your BASE. I buy all your games and the majority of my collection is Ubisoft stuff. You guys are a company I've grow to respect and to expect good things from.
That said, I don’t like this recent trend, in fact, it's starting to ###### me off. A lot.
Thanks for reading.
uh...thats because whether you like gr2 or summit strike, many did, and the game sold well. ubi doesnt just listen to the people on this boards, i am sure they are trying to make the game broad so that many people will like it and buy it. I am guessing you dont know the basics of any type of business. Here is the long and short of business..............making money. I know its a shocker but there it is. ....hey maybe the pc version will be to your liking.
-
awesome, those 4 mp movies. totally sold me.... cant wait.
-
yeah thats very true, i agree as well. however when i look at the e3 trailer, i notice alot of kinda natural camera movement when the soldier is running etc. do you guys like that kinda camera movement, or do you think it was too distracting, i thought it was nice but think it would be a bit distracting after a while of playing, possibly making it difficult to make out enemy movement while running, etc. your thoughts?
-
Are you guys joking?? Shot 2 looks better than shot 1??
I've heard it all

no......you havent heard it all. i have seen the hd trailer, recently released. the texture quality is better. I DO like the color palette of the 1st screenshot, however, you cannot argue the texture quality .....nor does it matter too much. as they have said the e3 video was lower res textures then what they are using now. it may not be blatantly appearent in the screenshots, but higher res is higher res, it is not subjective, it is what it is. and please.....enough with the emoticons.....i feel like 12 year old girls are posting here.
-
Alot of people are complaining about how it doesn't look like the E3 footage anymore, and that there's no high res texturing to be seenyet....as if that footage from E3 had such high res textures???

Now tell me....do the textures on the soldiers really look that high res to you? If you ask me...shot 2 is already superior to shot 1.
yep i agree moon, i think the game has improved, some of the screens out there are looking very nice indeed.
-
Is it me or did they change OTS view from GR2. It seems like anytime the guy walks up to a wall or object it zooms in. I hope this is the case then there will be no peaking around objects/walls.
yeah i have read that there is a new feature that when you are close to a wall or object you can hit the y button and the camera will come in close for tighter view. i dont think that it does it automatically though.
-
Really, if you think the MP looks like Ghost Recon 2...really do play GR2 right now, cause i've done that recently and GRAW MP clearly is the winner.
He's not talking about textures and slick graphics, man. Why is this a hard thing for people to grasp?
Single player and Multiplayer look very different. And Multiplayer looks strikingly similar to GR2, only w/ better textures and the cross-com.
Zoolabs is spot-on w/ his observations, imo.
WELL>......then if he isnt talking about graphics, why would you say that it looks different from singleplayer and looks similar to gr2........THAT IS GRAPHICS. this seems to be hard FOR YOU to grasp. look they are being developed by different houses. its gonna be different. graphics in a game like this are important because the clearer and more realistic the graphics are lend to a better standard for things like sight distance etc. i hope they really use sunlight as a negative thing on some of these maps as well. I think the new screens look great. i am anxious to see some of the indepth character customization stuff going on. the new screens in oxm show off some different head gear for the characters you can choose from, so .....things are looking good. hopefully the march window sticks. i need a game to play
-
i already own a 360, and still cant stop playing gr summit strike on my old xbox. i will be getting GRAW for 360 on day one, and will totally be up for some gaming with the devs and with the people on the forum. count me in. gamertag = OPSIXDELTA hit me up.

No clans at launch...that can be added with a patch though.

cool thanks. i have to say though. i think clan support, especially for a game like ghost recon in this day in age, should really have it from the start. What worries me is that if clan support is not a major focus, what other important things did they omit. Because as far as xbox and 360 versions go, ....to play a coop mission with strangers is a lesson in frustration, so hopefully they will add clan support shortly after launch, and or have a very robust room/lobby setup and party system, ala halo 2.
-
so for some reason i thought i read that officially the xbox 360 version of GRAW will not have clan support when it ships. Am i wrong? Because if it doesnt have support for clans then i would say ubi needs to delay the game to get the feature in there, what is all this multiplayer customization for if you cant create a clan. Something any decent online strategic game should have. I thought i read this in one of the Q and A sessions. but hopefully i am wrong ...does anyone know......is anyone from redstorm available to anwer this....?

Thanks, RaToN
I'm going to still give it a try. Having to clean up something is not as difficult as transcribing the entire conversation, IMO. I'll keep you all appraised of the success of it.

good lord guys how long is this recording. 20 - 30 hours. no offense , i totally appreciate what you guys are doing and will wait patiently. i know i type a crap load each week, for blogs, emails etc, and that is not work related, and it doesnt take long , but of course it sounds like you guys got a lot of info to organize and approve etc. but we appreciate it seriously just get to it when you can. i do a weekly internet radio show on gaming, over at festivalofblood.com, (take a listen if ya want, sorry to plug) but i know it can be rough trying to fit it in each week. anyway again, thanks guys.
i will tell you i have experimented with speech to text software, and personally i think it is all terrible, even after you spend the hours training it to recognise, there are still many many problems with it.

Well, Serellan clearly said the MP gametypes are customizeable and has been saying that since E3.
What does that mean? You want to mix up how a LMS game plays? Customize it. Wanna play a variation of SAR? Customize it. The gamers get to make the gametypes.
yeah....AGAIN, got that. the gametypes are customizable, ....got it. to be honest with you there are plenty of customizable game options in summit strike as well, what i am curious about is the customization options as far as hud, weapon loadout, character avatar, etc. all the stuff that is in pretty much every game of this type except for this one, and one of the few things that when ever it is asked, UBI, says"there are plenty of customization options for game modes. but that is not what is being asked, this was asked by some other blog sites, and other gaming sites back at e3 and x05 and no answer was give there either. guess i will have to wait till the demo.

wow. awesome, same lame answers to the same lame questions, except one regarding the blue diamonds, etc. who asks how many polys are in a character, that is bs, and just a way to keep really intriguing questions from being answered. And the answers to me seemed very vague on certain things, like they are dancing around it, when ever someone asks something they fall on this customization stuff, but still wont say WHAT THE HELL IS CUSTOMIZABLE. this was just a lame pr stunt, too bad, i was really hoping the Q&A's were gonna be worth a dam.
