  1. There are 4 Missions which take place in Nicaragua after the campaign missions. These are available only in Co-Op, and cannot be played solo. That should clear things up for you guys. There is both splitscreen Co-Op and via Live. I'm pretty sure you can do both at the same time also.

uh........welll...no not really, thats not what they are asking. we know, and have known for some time the 4 coop only missions playable over live, the question is are the singleplayer offline maps available in coop over live. This doesnt look to be the case. They seem to be following the splintercell formula and have coop its own thing. What worries some about this, is that splintercell was suppose to have regular updates of new coop missions, this never materialized for whatever reason, and only very recently did 2 additional maps come out for that game. I dont believe this will happen with graw because it is in redstorms hands, But in regards to sp missions available over live i am pretty sure that is a NO.

  2. My bro bought a dutch Xbox magazine today, and there's this article of two guys who were invited by Ubi to come and try out GRAW...this guy must have got it wrong, but i dont get it . He basically says

We also tried out the multiplayer mode,in which you can either play VS or co-op. In co-op for example it's possible to play the single-player missions with several other players, but there are also completely new missions specially made for the multiplayer part.

It's a very reliable magazine, so i believe that these two guys played the game...buy why is he saying you CAN play the SP missions in Co-Op..doe he mean Offline in Co-op?

I also wrote this to GHOST from the IGN forum, this is rather weird.

yep strange, i hope so, but all other evidence points to you not being able too. here's hoping.

  3. hey guys, dont know if you care, or if you already know ,but i am gonna point it out., i was watching the video and at 8 min. 20 sec. if you pause you will notice two types of grenades in the soldiers inventory. i guess this means we can carry more than one type. so .....smoke and frag. awesome

  4. WELL. i am gonna say it. after watching that video i am totally putting my trust in rse to deliver, i thought everything looked great. the customization looked great. even the lack of sp coop levels dont bother me anymore cause it looks like you can make your own. they should have posted this video a month ago and i think there would have been alot less ranting on the boards MYSELF INCLUDED . if anyone from rse is reading. it looks great and i am looking forward to this game more than ever.

  5. Those four co-op missions are still a BONUS that most games don't have.

I don't think anyone should be complaining.

This was not a BONUS feature in the previous versions. The whole campaign in [GR]/GRIT/GR2/SS could all be run in coop mode. Regardless of how you word it, this is a downgrade from the previous versions.

very true indeed, we got shorted on the coop in my opinion, which i dont think is a small issue, because this game is more of a coop style game anyway. run and gunners in my opinion, can just go play halo or unreal, and lets not forget that ubi promised more coop missions for splinter cell, but only very recently released those extra coop missions, 2 of them. and that was after the game had been out for quite a bit of time.

  6. [Mod edit] i really meant was that the xbox can still look damn good.  take a look a splinter cell:CT, wow.  but in GRAW, i mean, the textures on the gun model aren't at all impresive, nor are distant buildings, and im really not fond of the squad models.  and i say this after seeing a few gorgeous games on this current-gen.  maby it'll look better in-game.  sorry guys, but i just didn't get that "yum" feelin' when i saw the screens.  and excuse me if i offended anyone because of my disaproval of the xbox version.  i guess some are just sore about the aging of there box.

Personal attacks and flaming are not welcome here. Please re-read the forum rules.

yeah i get ya, but i would replay summit strike. if you cant see the bump up in texture quality from gr2:ss to graw on xbox1, then maybe we are looking at different screens. its all subjective anyway so not a big deal.

  7. Kinda bugs me really.

Everyone seems to be in like a turbo mode or something in the multiplayer videos.

Is it just me or what?

yeah thats, true, this kinda goes back to an idea i had that would be cool to kinda curb the "run and gun style of gameplay" this could be something that you can toggle on and off for mp games, but my idea was to kind of have a stamina mechanic built in, so that you can run for say maybe the equilvalent of ......mmmm..depending on your weight you are carrying, maybe can run for several blocks before you character will slow up and need to "catch his breath a bit" it wouldnt really effect me as i tend to play rather slow, and when i do kinda quickly assualt it usually doesnt last long. Not totally sure how this type of mechanic would balance out, but i think it would be cool.

  8. hmmm. really. i would say most of the comments coming in in regards to the xbox version seem to be vary favorable. i thought the screens, while looking quite different than GR2 on xbox, do seem to be a bit better than GR2

  9. whoa.....hey BIGOLBRAIN on the ubi forums i seen you posted this reply to a post regarding gun customizations:

thats BS ubi, just so you know, players who get the game l8tr have to fight with bad guns against ppl with good guns so they can make money, so its way harder, do to the 360 shortage... and its already for a n00b to get on a team of players ahh well ubi, i still love you Heart

    Hmmm...I didn't know that.

Still cool that you can do that though. I really didn't think the 360 version would have it.

And that's a good point. Noobs will be fighting with **** guns and less experience while the guys with experience have the good guns.

    Oh well..."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    - now is this lonewolf guy a ubi or rse employee?????? if so i guess its a fact that you can customize your weapons in graw360 but you need to buy the upgrades ????

***** ah update....i looked in to that, lonewolfer isnt on the inside, so that comment has no merit i guess

  10. ok, some may not agree with me on this, but i have to say it. i watched those videos, and the always praised havok physics engine ...........welll...........it sucks ..

i thought they would have solved this, but if you look at the video where he is shooting in the junkyard looking map, and he lays prone and shoots like three guys by a wrecked car, you will notice guns floating in the air, etc. looks goofy. i honestly dont know why all these developers think havok physics are awesome, cause in my opinion, that physics engine is very unlife like, and at times terribly in accurate, with arms and legs flapping like weightless bags of sand, and guns floating in the air, (this happens alot in GR2 mp)

not a major complaint , but dissappointed to see it in next gen games.

the funny occurance happens in movie #2 at about 1:03

am i the only one who finds this pretty crappy , in a next gen premier title like this.?

  11. all good questions, lets keep em coming., not that anything will come from it, but hopefully someone reading this, in a marketing position at ubi ,will realize, that this is the stuff people who would actually participate in a graw q&a would actually ask., not what is the cross com for the 20th time, we knew what that was all about 6 months ago.

  12. So i would love for RSE or UBI to answer some questions from the community that didnt sound like they were pulled out of a marketing brochure like the last 2 Q & A's. For example if i hear the question "What is the cross-com?" one more time i am gonna scream. here are some of the questions i would have asked. can you think of more.

    1. Are Single Player missions playable over xbox live with friends ?

    2. Can you be killed during weapon selection in muliplayer games as in GR2 ? Or does the game put you in a static state and allow you to choose your weapon before actually spawning you.

    3. Has the problem of enemies running full out, shooting from the hip on full auto and still being able to head shot you been taken out of GRAW ?, as it was a slight annoyance during GR2.

    4. Do enemies spawn on the map or are they already there waiting for you to enter that area of the map ? This was a problem when playing coop firefight, and thinking you had good defensive positions, but ....what.....oops looks like kazakstans military has mastered the art of teleportation and spawned right behind you.

    5. Can you shoot through various levels of cover with an appropriate rifle like advertised early in the GRAW marketing trailers? i.e. if an enemy is hiding behind the windshield of a vehicle can my .50 caliber rifle shoot through the object of cover and kill the enemy........last time i checked the average Hyundai couldnt stop a .50 caliber round...........

    6. How does the support system work in GRAW? i.e. when is apache gunship support available in the game. In GR2 airstrikes were only available in lone wolf missions, but i imagine that is no longer the case.

Can you guys think of more.......

  13. mmm, still didnt see anything confirming that you could play the sp missions in coop mode over live, and to be honest i doubt you will be able to because they have said many times lately in interviews that "sp missions dont translate well to mp missions

There is this quote directly from the article:

On top of the standard competitive play is cooperative co-op action which allows the full online crowd (yep - 16 player co-op) to complete single player missions. As we mentioned earlier, System Link is alive and kicking, not to mention split screen action for those gaming traditionalists.

Full online crowd ... That has to be the people connecting over the internet via XBOX Live...

true they say that in the article, but i must point out 3 things.....

    1. i hope you and teamxbox are right....i truly do, cause then i will be happy

    2. i do not think you are right, because teamxbox never says that they seen this in action nor do they quote any dev. who said this, and gaming sites and journalists are NOTORIOUS for being way off base sometimes.

    3. all ubi has said openly about mp is that their are 10 mp maps and 4 coop maps. it seems to me if all the sp maps were playable as well then they would say we got 10 mp maps, 4 new coop maps, and all the sp maps playable over live. but they never say that, as a matter of fact ubi has only said the opposite, ....they have said that sp maps dont translate well to mp.

    just my thoughts

  14. i think the box looks pretty cool, def. better than the gr 2 box. I will be getting the 360 version, and to be honest possibly the pc version, simply because they are gonna be such different games, it like i will be getting two ghostrecon games at the same time. suweet.

  15. The diffrence is the Blur. If you play fast action games (Fps, Raceing or just plain anything moven fast) than 720p is what you want becuase you get a very much cleaner sharper picture. As with 1080i you well get a much blury muddy screen. If you happen to play slow moven games than 1080i is fine, but if you plain on playing Graw you might want to switch back to 720p for the action.

this is really important when dealing with LCD hdtv's. As LCD sometimes have low refresh rates, which will cause the stuttering, or bluring, or sometimes called ghosting effect seen in games. If you are looking to buy an LCD hdtv, please make sure you research the recommended refresh rate for typical game playing. you can probably find this on some hdtv board. .

  16. All single-player missions are available for 16-player online co-op.

 Do you have a link to that info?

It was my understanding that SP missions could be played with 4 human players. 16 Player co-op was going to be available to other game modes like defend et al, but not co-op missions...

Am I confusing this with the PC info?

    EDIT

Found the link in another thread: http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1259...-Warfighter/p1/

 Things are looking VERY good!!!!

mmm, still didnt see anything confirming that you could play the sp missions in coop mode over live, and to be honest i doubt you will be able to because they have said many times lately in interviews that "sp missions dont translate well to mp missions, which i will disagree with, because me and my friends personally love playing the sp mission "govt. district" on summit strike in mp, its our favorite,..

however i dont like this quote from the teamxbox preview.

"So, you already know that the single player and multiplayer have been developed by completely different houses. Astute readers will immediately realize that this separation of development means that the each will have its own personality and not suffer from typical multi-to-single or vice-versa issues seen in other titles."

this is crap, personally i think people dont like the seperation of dev houses.

  17. OPSIXDELTA

lol....yeah I know they are different.

    480p, 540p, 720p, 1080p and all progressive scan and I understand it.

My point was just that really there isn't much difference in the two when it comes to viewing...imo anyway.

I will say however that 720p at times has an advantage when the screen or camera is moving really quickly.  Other than that I can't really see the difference myself.  :)

yeah i mean most people with an hdtv, know the difference, i was just pointing it out, mainly for people possibly thinking of buying an hdtv. as for me, i cant tell the difference between the two , however if i had to choose, i would go with 720 p settings, simply because it is progressive.

  18. 720..1080 I don't really see much difference myself. :)

here is the differnce between 720p and 1080i

720p is 720 progressive scan, meaning that the television draws the image on screen in a complete manner. i.e it draws the scene in one pass.

1080i or 1080 interlaced draws the scene by drawing all the even number rows of pixels then drawing all the odd number rows of pixels. So basically you get one half of the picture , then the television draws the other half. This causes a "flicker of the picture" HOWEVER this flicker happens so fast that your eye doesnt really register this effect. Your eye especially doesnt register it when it is a 1080 interlaced image.

the reason there isnt much of a difference between the two visually though, is that while 1080i has a higher resolution than 720p, it is displaying only half the image at any given moment because it is an interlaced image.

while a 720p image is a progressive scanned image, showing the whole picture at any moment. so while it is a lower resolution technically, it is also technically playing back picture at 60 fps, which produces a smoother picture.

what all this amounts to is that 1080i and 720p are pretty much the same viewing experience. HOWEVER 1080P or 1080 progressive, (which no 360 game takes advantage of) is the current highest resolution level currently supported by hdtv's, but it is of note that 1080p is not supported heavliy by hdtv's yet, but will in the next ....mmm maybe 2 years.

hope that clears it up a bit for anyone who didnt already know.

  19. yeah these shots are sexy, so i know you said that sp campaign is playable in coop , but can anyone link to a place where this is said or quoted...(moderators do you know?) cause this is a pretty big thing to me, as i really only play coop, and i was hoping for sp missions to be playable in coop. but lately i have decided that is not the case anymore.

    any link would be great

  20. Some of those answers are total dodges.  Annoying.

yeah i mean, if you do a q&a do it like bethesda software does with its oblivion game. i just read the new Q&A for that, and it was like ....wow..... alot of info, ALOT OF INFO., and they answered 85 percent of what was asked with very detailed answers, and didnt mind giving up info, to be honest i appreciate prince for doing it, that was cool of him, but i would have rather them just release some new screens, or movies. cause its obvious they arent showing all their cards yet, we still have no info on this coop campaign, nor weapon list, release date (they gotta know by now, to make march it needs to be in duplication very very soon. now.

so again appreciate the effort ubi/rse, but next time just give us some screens,

  21. hmmm. another online q&a, still didnt seem like the most pressing questions but whatever. I still dont understand why deveopers wont just say yes on some things. I definitely feel like the single and multiplayer are gonna be very very different. Which i cant comment on too much as i havent played graw yet of course, but i can say that me and my friends LOVE playing coop on govt district on summit strike. ... and what i am worried about with graw is that they end up focusing on adversial mode more than online coop. i mean its shipping with online coop missions, four of them, but why dont they just say yes we are def. having downloadable coop missions, why do they dance around with this shady marketing language , for example " i cant comment about downloadble coop missions, but we hope we can get people to play gr for a long long time" Not a big thing just annoying,. Anyways i really hope these customizable game types refer to stuff thats not just adversial , but gametypes like recon, etc, that havent been mentioned. I am still excited more than ever about this game, but i wished they would have done a few things different. I mean if i am gonna play something like deathmatch or capture the flag, honestly i will go play something like unreal or halo2, with GR i wanna play matches that are a bit more dynamic, hopefully these customizations will address this.
