  1. What is bothering me about all this is not Ubi's pushing back of GR3...its their obvious disregard where PC Gamers are involved...Ghost Recon came out when?  2001?  RavenShield in 03?  They have not given the PC community a game of this genre in close to 3 years.  Splinter Cell is a fun game...but IMO its not even close to its squad based brethren.

Yet the console arena is given more games virtually every year...GR2...GR2SS....BlackOps.....Lockdown....

and the PC community is given delays and cancellations.

    HACK

I once read an article over at gamershell.com gh3d.com the title was "Is PC Gaming dead allready"? or something like that... anywayz it was pointing to the fact that developing games for the consoles was easier and more profitable, yes a very lucrative market for XBOX, PS2, etc.
  2. So....does this mean you can blow holes in buildings and walls or not? Can you shoot through doors and wood frame walls? Will explosions leave craters?

In the GR:AW movies, i'm thinking about the one where the ghosts are in urban map [one with the tank] shows the sniper shooting through the wall, i'm sure of it.Looking at Eye Of The Storm (working title) for the PC [i believe uses physX] I'm gonna say yes to what you asked.I looked at the game movie over at Gamespot.I have not seen any PC GR:AW in game footage only XBOX360, so it's difficult for all to see exactly what physX, Havok physics eye candy give us in the game.

    AGEIA PhysX Technologies

Gaming will never be the same with AGEIA PhysX Processor. Bridging the gap between beautiful static worlds and responsive physical reality, AGEIA PhysX technologies enable unlimited creative possibilities for game developers. The result will re-ignite the enthusiasm of gamer and game creators alike, and propel the game industry into unexplored new markets. Experience the world of pervasive interactive reality with PhysX technologies.

    AGEIA PhysX Processor

AGEIA PhysX Processor is the world's first physics processor, an entirely new category of technology that promises to transform gaming. By offloading software physics processing from the CPU and GPU, AGEIA’s PhysX Processor completes the triangle of game function, graphics and interactive real-time environments from physics computing, balancing the load of these processing tasks and enabling incredible realism in tomorrow's games.

AGEIA PhysX Processor Architecture has been designed to enable radical acceleration of:

    Rigid body dynamics

    Universal collision detection

    Finite element analysis

    Soft body dynamics

    Fluid dynamics

    Hair simulation

    Clothing simulation

    AGEIA PhysX SDK

The AGEIA PhysX SDK is a stable, high-performance solution for game developers to enable physics-based gameplay and effects in PC and game console titles. A powerful API for the AGEIA PhysX Processor, the AGEIA PhysX SDK enables game developers to inject both software-only and hardware-accelerated features into their games. The AGEIA PhysX SDK is also the first and only asynchronous (multithreaded) physics API capable of unleashing the power of multiprocessor gaming systems.

    Key features:

    Stable, high-performance solver

First and only multiprocessing physics API

    PC and console support

Works alongside and is compatible with other game engines

Supports vehicles, rag dolls, and character controllers

    Integrates with any renderer

Full complement of code samples and tutorials

World-class developer support and custom solutions

  3. I read rocky's readup bout AGEIA physX tech in GR:AW.I understand a bit better, i guess the physics such as destructible environments will be realistic from the dust to particles the way a wall in real life would crumble or blast out.Looking at the chip and board i'm thinking along the lines of SLI because how does it work independentley of normal gfx card? looks like SLI bridge of some sort on top of card, maybe need a master card.As read on Rocky's news that asus is a chosen manufacturer to build em, and then you'll probably get nVidia and ATI making there own versions? Anywayz could very well be a good thing realy if it handles the physics instructions from the software and the gfx master card handles other game data? It'll probably burn a whole in your wallett to get up and running, but then again what new technology does not.

  4. Man this is all sounding a bit radio gaga radio caca, just use the havok physics fizzyks whatever...lol.And give us a demo allready for crying out loud.Sheesh fly me to the moon why don't ya.Better still join the forces and get a gun and join a real war...there you go... is that real enough physics for you?All this amazing technology now [sLI, G70,X1800 whatever].Man it's just a game, and i bet people will be bored after completion. It's alright i guess this new physix thing as long as it's cheap, cheap as chips.Put it in the cpu?All this hardware we have now and you get a realy good fps game every..what..err 6 months ? a year ?.Soz guys just so addicted to Ghost Recon.Lol.I need a new fix [ TC's GR:AW].

  5. I find it very hard to believe that GR:AW pc will be released in November. There is just not enough info to support that. We haven't even seen it running and they wouldn't even let WK near to actualy playing the early version of it.

Almost no screen shots, no footage, no news of a demo, not even finalised details on features. . . . and 38 days and counting??? I don't think so.

My guess is we'll get an 'April 2006' statement sometimes towards the end of October.

Be great to see a release in november. But i suspect a 2006 release along with with RvS lockdown. It may end up like S.T.A.L.K.E.R soc.lol.Whilst i'll wait for GR:AW, i'll be getting some serious game time with Battlefield 2 and the upcoming expansion special forces.Great.... that will take my mind off GR:AW.
  6. UBISOFT UK, shopping, PC GR:AW release november 2005.

    No info on GR:AW XBOX.

No info on GR:AW XBOX 360.

The Inquirer, consoles, XBOX 360 release date confirmed by microsoft.

XBOX 360 due in America november 22nd.

XBOX 360 due in United Kingdom december 2nd.

XBOX 360 due in Japan december 10th.

  7. I personally like the FPWV. Its the same way I played RvS. While it did block more of the screen and obstruct more of the view, it felt more realistic. I do however find it funny that people are complaining about the angle of the gun not being just right. Does a milimeter to the left or right really matter?!

    graw.jpg

Yes i would agree totaly that the first person weapon view is as real as you could play.In real life you would not see a crosshair + {+} (+).Well when i hold a gun or rifle what i see is the weapon in my hand/hands, my arms, the world around me, well the only area in first person shooters developers have not quite got it right is the field of view, the corner of your eyes, there is a slight rounded view, lol, the eyes are round.Well that's how i see anyway.
  8. Can't find a release date for the uk, hopefully 11th/nov/05?Hope it's a worldwide pushout to retail a.s.a.p, i'm also hoping for a demo release before hand. But hey ya know, i can allways exercise my patience?I usually buy from GAME store or PC World.Game has november.

  9. If we had no choice but to download our games/software then so be it.But i would not want to pay as much as you do in retail outlets.I realy don't think it will happen all the time right now.just give me the PC DVD Rom in it's case anyday.
