  1. All Along The Watchtower trailer released.

    Link

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, released the latest trailer of its coming March hit Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Logically named “All Along The Watchtower”, the trailer unveils a new version of the classic song written by Bob Dylan, made famous by Jimmy Hendrix and now performed by:

    Everlast – vocals

Billy Gould - Faith No More (Bass)

Raymond Herrera - Fear Factory, Killing Zone (Drums)

Doug Carrion – Kottonmouth Kings, Dag Nasty (Guitar)

Russell Ali - Kamana/Killing Zone (local LA Bands) (Guitar)

These artists joined the Ghosts to produce this new version of the classic song mixing a dash of a Classic, a pinch of Rock and a touch of Rap.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ will be released on:

10th March 2006 on Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Xbox® video game system from Microsoft

31st March 2006 on PC DVD-ROM and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

    Cool

Great track, i like U2's version...and here's the lyrics lol

There must be some way out of here

Said the joker to the thief

    There's too much confusion here

    I can't get no relief

    Businessmen they drink my wine

    Plowmen dig my earth

None of them know along the line

What any of this is worth, yeah

    No reason to get excited

    The thief, he kindly spoke

There are many here among us (here)

Who think that life is but a joke

But you and I, we've been through that

And that is not our fate

So let us not talk falsely now

Because the hour is getting late

    Hey hey hey

    All along the watchtower

    Princes kept the view

    While horsemen came and went

    Barefoot servants too

All I got is a red guitar

    Three chords

    And the truth

All I got is a red guitar

The rest is up to you

There's no reason to get excited

    The thief, he kindly spoke

There are some among us here

Say that life is just a joke

You and I, we've been through that

And that is not our fate (at least today)

So let us not talk falsely now

Because the hour is getting late

    Late... yeah...

    Yeah-yea

    Yeah-yea

    Uh huh, uh huh

    Yeah-yea

  2. SCCT has SF? I have had nothing but trouble with my serial number. I enter it as it is on my case and it won't give me the go ahead. So I stopped playing it and want to get rid of it.

I got the UK PC DVD-ROM version of SCCT and two key codes, one on the manual and the install key code on the dvd disc. The key code on the manual must be for multiplayer? i dunno never played the game online.
  3. so Bf2 does not support single player 32 . you need a mod to do it ???I am confused sorry  :(  :(

Yeah it's complete pants of EA/DICE not to have implemented the 32 and 64 player maps in bf2 single player. Bf2 single player only supports 16 player officialy, no real story line, it's just single player practice. I think i read on some website that 32 and 64 player maps in single player the AI bots were acting erratic? hard to code the game right plus EA probably spent too much time on the game as was/is, AI bots flying jets and stuff i think they had problems. There are mods out there you can try, i have tried 32 SP mods and was good fun. You can create a 32/64 map and practice flying and checking out the large maps but no AI enemy, you don't need to be on the internet to practice on 32/64 maps.

X1800XT 512MB is not that impressive imho, lockdown demo struggles maxed out with 1280 x 1024 @60HZ and 6X/4X AA: and 8X/16X AF: i should of waited for X1900XTX and i realy need FX57 or FX60, aint gonna happen though, lol can't afford it. I might have to buy 3rd party coolers and stuff and overclock to the max if i want to see/play GR:AW in all it's glory, well i imagine Grin's diesel6? to be state of the art 3D game engine.

  5. A fan preview from an alpha build of the v1.2 patch:

    http://www.bf2.se/page.php?id=541

    My favorite part:

*UAV is now a flying airplane that circels the area. All weapons can harm the UAV but most efficient is the Jeep MG that only took about 5 seconds to kill the UAV. The COMM will have to learn to place the UAV right so it cant be fired at to easy. AT probably will be able to kill the UAV with a lot of practising.

Here's a list of the changes for the v1.2 patch in case you weren't aware yet:

Update 1.2 is currently undergoing public beta testing and will be released very soon. As with the first list, this second list includes confirmed fixes only:

Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14

TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range

Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced

AA missile lock has been improved

Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy

"Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible

Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time

    "Prone Spamming" is now fixed

    "Sprint exploit" is now fixed

The Sa80 weapon has been improved

The G3A3 weapon has been improved

Reload while sprinting has been enabled

Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials

    Damage decreased for the M134

Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.

Server search filters now work properly

All mines (Claymore, Anti-vehicle, C4) can now be picked up by the same class that dropped it by using the “G” key.

Mines can no longer be destroyed with other explosives

    Flash bang effect radius decreased

Added unlocks for Sniper and AT kits

Fixed a bug in terrain rendering with night vision, whereby terrain was still dark in dark areas.

Fixed a bug whereby mods that are not bf2 or not xpack permutate shaders every time a level is loaded.

Fixed a bug whereby non-xpack mods cannot use xpack shaders.

Fixed bug in TV guided missiles of Havoc helicopter

Bug in MP7 fire rate fixed. Ammo count increased and mag count and damage decreased

APC Update – “Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials”. This fix was a miscommunication to the patch team. Chinese and MEC APC’s have been reverted and the LAV25 now no longer shoots through penetrable materials.

Vehicles no longer disappear when viewed from some vehicles with a HUD (e.g. Tanks).

Performance gain found in static mesh rendering.

Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.

Grenade launcher projectiles now have a minimum time before arming.

"Sprint exploit" is now fixed, what is the sprint exploit right now?

"Reload while sprinting has been enabled", i'm sure this is possible now.

  6. I can't see what the problem is with dolph dive tbh, i mean c'mon surely that's something a soldier would do in real life is to dive for cover under attack. I have done it many times in bf2 and it's saved me from a shallow grave, oh and i have seen it done in the movies lol.

  7. Does anyone else think this game is overrated? I'm suprised anyone who played GR cares for it.... Thats all my friends play now and it dont support anything that could actually run it in reality..

I also think it wants you to upgrade just to get it to play..

    BF2 is lame

Yes, i have played it... Arcadish

Did you try the demo first? Can i have your copy of bf2 if you don't want it?
  8. I am in the process of buying a new computer - I"m interested in advice on which video card I should purchase?

I've heard some bad things about the GForce FX series......but I have liked past Gforce cards....

I'm going to get a 256RAM Card.....just not sure on which one I should purcahse.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Which video card to purchase?, there are so many. Are you a gamer? are you into video editing? If it's just general use, buy the cheapest card you can. I can't realy advise on video editing because i have never done that, maybe a google search will come up with some reviews. I have had a nvidia FX5800 128MB gfx card it was ok, played farcry low to medium settings was good enough but the card struggled to keep up. Most of last year i used a nvidia 6800GT 256MB agp gfx card was a lot better, but with new games and new game engines the 6800GT started to struggle so i had to opt for lower in game settings, the problem i have is that i like to see games in all there glory, so turning up a games settings to high and resolution at 1280 x 1024 60HZ and expecting decent framerates was troublesome for me. So i got me a X1800XT a better card but i'm not that impressed tbh, infact a complete waste of money, well it's an ok card i guess but like i said turn up the games high settings and you can bring most top end cards to a slow down. So all i could advise is be aware of the hype, don't waste your money, do a lot of research, find that middle ground, if it exists, lol sorry for the yapping on.
  9. Well, if you dont really like Arcade-ish games such as CS & CSS

You prolly wont like Battlefield 2

Personally i despise the game, but if i say anything bad about it certain people here will go at me

Say what you think bro just be constructive, i'm allways interested to know why a game does not appeal to someone. I must be very fortunate when it comes to games because all the games i have got i can't think of any one of them that i don't like, the only problem i have is that i get bored playing them after a while, most of the games i got like GR1, RvS, farcry, hl2, riddick efbb, doom3, splinter cell series, swat4, FTF, etc are in a box somewhere or on a shelf collecting dust. Sometimes i'll dig out one of those games install it play it for a few days maybe a couple of weeks, then i'm bored with them again. I read on some forum somewhere a guy is still playing RvS six from the day it came out, that's great because he realy got his moneys worth with that game. I got BF2 the day it was available here in the UK and i'm still playing it, so hopefully i'll get my moneys worth from it.

  10. Seeing as I know have a Winblows machine, and I'm looking at getting some new games, I have been wondering about BF2. A few friends play it reguarly online, but CS, DoD etc all *** me off for some reason, maybe because they feel too arcadey? Basically, as a [GR] fanatic and someone who likes AA, would BF2 be enjoyable?! And are there any gripes about the game?

    Just thought I'd ask lads!

    Ta,

    Dickie

Try the demo first, i personally love the game. It's nothing like ghost recon it's mainly capturing control points and defending flags, i love the chaotic fights, it's state of the art 3dgame technology and i also like the vehicles infact to me they are awesome, the game is not to everyones liking, so try the demo before you buy, oh and the helicopters are awesome if you like flying.
  11. Wait...so in the game or patch they put software on your computer that tracks you, chomping at your bandwidth, causing lag etc? is that one way to put it? I read somewhere once about SWAT4 having ads in game, like that annoying poster of 50 cents, i thought it was just that kind of advertising, according to that link it says the software spyware adware tracks you, sends information back to the spy, or big brother as they say. If that is correct then that's bad news.

    Is what i'm thinking correct-ish?

  12. Ubisoft Austria reports 21st February.

    Source

Like Joseph_Q says, it's rather odd that we've seen no ingame video of GR:AW yet.

And the press hasn't gotten a playable preview yet as far as I know.

Aye but look how quick pc R6 lockdown is taking off, we were all waiting for info, in game footage etc, now we got loads to go on. So i'm going to keep optimistic about GR:AW.

  13. Is starforce on GR:AW PC CD/DVD? after reading about SF i'm not quite sure if i'll buy the game as soon as its in retail outlets/shops and the same goes for RvS6 lockdown. I may wait to see how others get on installing GR:AW. I wish i never read about Starforce to be honest, but then again on the other hand i'm glad i did. So come on UBI get your bloody act together and sort this out once and for all.

  14. I am so confused this is rediculous.

Can someone cut the computer jargon and give it to me straight please...

    1. For 100% absolute certain we will NOT need a PhysX card to play GRAW? There's not going to be anyone changing their mind on us is there?

    2. For 100% absolute certain it is ONLY an option for those of you with big wallets? Again, they're not going to change their mind are they? I don't have $250 laying around.

    3. EXACTLY how will it effect MP gameplay? Like someone else said earlier, I don't want to be hiding behind a car and end up getting shot because I'm out in the open. Heck, or even vice versa, I don't want to waste ammo shooting at someone that's behind a car I can't see. Or behind a slight little edge of a wall or whatever. MP is what matters for me as far as gameplay. I want to make sure that before I order this game that I'm going to be able to enjoy it to its fullest online.

I appreciate it guys, but 7 pages has made my mind numb and there are conflicting reports from different people floating around. I just want simply, easy, user-friendly answers.

    TIA,

Have you seen these demo's? http://www.ageia.com/physxInAction/demos.html
