Why would you want to remove the cross-com?
=warcloud= replied to Sup's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
The cross-com might look ok on the pc version?, but imo on the xbox screenshots and the 360, the screen looks too cluttered and the reticule looks too big. As with most games you should have the option to toggle on/off hud cross-com. -
thought PC was the only 1st PWV platform?
=warcloud= replied to silent_op's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Rainbow Six Lockdown uses a modified Ghost Recon engine, the game is superb in single player, the engine can bring my X1800XT 512MB to it's knees, lol, so to speak. -
This guys says he played the pc version.
=warcloud= replied to BigOlBrain's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
What's with the top widescreen tv, why is the 360GR:AW? not filling the whole screen, or is the darker part of the screen the tactical map or something, or is it the angle/lighting of the picture taken? -
It looks good for xbox but it's far from the 360 version. ← I hope the pc version is not like that pic? it's like your in a pod, cross-com thingy is distracting to me, and that huge reticule. Still the gameplay should suffice? Unless of course you can switch all the on screen stuff off?

= HOW= lol, like that one.

Age Gauge This might make you laugh and feel a little old, too.... Put your birth date in the pop up window after you click on the link below. Enter month first, then date, then year. What happens is pretty interesting. It's also amazing how quickly it computes!! Very cool. Click on the link below... http://www.frontiernet.net/~cdm/age1.html

So, those gamers that do not trust Starforce-software+drivers are not going to buy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter? Dudes ya gonna miss out on an awesome game. I know of one DVD-RW drive that is ok with Starforce+drivers and that's the NEC ND 4550A, it's not expensive and it looks great in black. I posted earlier about an issue when closing down a game with Starforce, and that i could not access the drive straight away to eject the disc, i tried this again earlier and the disc ejected straight away, maybe it was me going too fast.

I purchased a copy of Rainbow Six Lockdown friday last, i noticed on the back of the PC dvd-rom case -NOTICE: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some DVD-RW and virtual drives. Anyway the game installed without a hitch, starforce logo popped up at the end of game installation, SF asked for a restart of computer, all is well, no major problems. The only thing i noticed is when i have had enough of gaming and i exit the game, back to desktop i can't eject the disc from DVD drive, i have to either wait a few minutes or if i'm in a hurry i have to go t

Map’s/Lighting/Mood; GRAW is urban and ranges from things like shantytowns to dense city environments. I know people are afraid urban will mean less options of approach to a goal but it is rather the opposite. The missions cater to open areas like parks and more wooded terrain but not pure jungle as Far Cry or such. The other big difference is of course the visual quality which will benefit from the latest Next Gen PC rendering and effect. We are using emotional curves and lighting enhancements to enhance the mood. We are modeling dynamic changes in time. The sun will track across

This is a true life anecdote about Albert Einstein, and his theory of relativity. After having propounded his famous theory, Albert Einstein would tour the various Universities in the United States, delivering lectures wherever he went. He was always accompanied by his faithful chauffer, Harry, who would attend each of these lectures while seated in the back row! One fine day, after Einstein had finished a lecture and was coming out of the auditorium into his vehicle, Harry addresses him and says, "Professor Einstein, I've heard your lecture on Relativity so many times, that if I were ever

Just read this There is currently no scheduled release time or date for the 1.20 patch. Until you see a link posted by either EAUK_Sentience or myself on this forum you are at your own risk. Be aware that there have already been incidences of users posting fake patch files on this forum, so the simple guideline, as ever, is that unless you see it posted officially, it's not real. http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t...bc33708e7e88b1d

What kind of video card do you have?
=warcloud= replied to Snake@War's topic in Computer Discussions
Both vendors manufacture great gfx chips. My X1800XT 512MB, great gaming card, ccc is slow at boot up and you have to tweak the ccc's settings to get the best from gaming, it's a pain in the rear but that's the way it is with PC gaming, and it's the same with nvidias control panel settings and CoolBits, other than that it's ok. My 6800GT 256MB AGP (sold) great gaming card, obviously not as fast as the fudo, i have had issues with nvidia drivers in the past, other than that they are ok. I was gonna buy the G70, 7800GTX 256MB but the X1800XT was faster in BF2 at the time, plus an extra -
Great job on the weapons, when can we try out?

I'm no professional gamer, but what i find interesting is as you say..."can the human eye tell the difference beyond 24 frames per second"? well i don't know about that, i'll have to look into it. But what i can tell you from my point of view is, it's what i feel with the mouse pointer or if i'm in a first person shooter game then it's the reticule. @ 60 frames per second i struggle to keep the pointer or reticule steady/smooth @ 70 frames per second it's better. @ 80 frames per second and above (according to FRAPS or in-game frame rate counter) i have much better control of movements in-game,

What kind of video card do you have?
=warcloud= replied to Snake@War's topic in Computer Discussions
Dude... the X1800XT is ok really, i'm on CCC 6.2. It's catalyst Control Centre, takes too long to load, maybe i'm a bit impatient. I had problems with Ghost Recon and Raven Shield and it turned out to be the settings in CCC, normally i have CCC set at factory default, but playing GR & RvS i had latency issues with my mouse loads of lag, so i have to remember to change CCC's... "wait for vertical refresh"... to allways off, it's... "off, unless application specifies" by factory default. I might try the Omega drivers? -

Ha, laser pen. PHaSR Rifle 11/2/2005 - KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (AFPN) -- A laser technology weapon will be the first man-portable, non-lethal deterrent weapon intended for protecting troops and controlling hostile crowds. The weapon, developed by the Air Force Research Laboratory's Directed Energy Directorate, employs a two-wavelength laser system and is a hand-held, single-operator system for troop and perimeter defense. The laser light used in the weapon temporarily impairs aggressors by illuminating or "dazzling" individuals, removing their ability to see the laser s
