  1. 30+ that aint really much. pistols, shotguns, AR's, sniper rifles, machineguns + AT, and then for both sides.....

I read on gamesradar their loadout is, approximately, 45 firearms which will include classics like AK-47s and AN-94s, not just fancy stuff like SCAR-Ls, and a MR-B the one we see in the gameplay vid with the holographic sight and the metal looking hook at the end, which is apparantly for ripping open doors?. That's not a bad loadout imho plus there will be downloadable content too, no doubt.

  2. From gamesradar...

"Kozak's Cross Com will no longer relate titbits of story info; instead, Ubisoft Paris wants Future Soldier to convey the 'humanity of war'. To that end, you'll see the story unfold through the eyes of its various protagonists. Examples cited included a Kremlin-based mission as a Russian Presidential bodyguard attempting to foil his abduction, or as a brave civilian defending his hometown from invasion. Lacey and Dauba assured us these won't just be inconsequential titbits, but fully fleshed-out levels – if not quite as long as the Ghost scenarios".

    Eurogamer...

"For the most part, you play the leader of the Ghosts, a commando squad sent to upset the ultra-nationalists' invadey plans. He's called Captain Edward Kachenko (nickname: Kozak), and he's an American soldier with Russian roots, so he has some personal investment in the brutal coup d'etat. You will, however, spend some time seeing the game through the eyes of incidental characters, such as a non-ultra-nationalist Russian engineer defending his invaded land against neo-terrorists with mere buckshot, and the bodyguard of the soon-to-be-overthrown Russian president. This is, of course, nothing at all like Modern Warfare's switching perspectives and set-piece scenes of terrorism aftermath".
  3. 10 days ago the forums had a downtime for 4 hours, i think it was for maintenance?. It's not been right since. I logged in about 5-10 minutes ago on the Splinter Cell Conviction forum and was able to post and reply without problems, but when i tried to post/reply in the Ghost Recon Future Soldier forum it asked me to sign in?, i went back to the Splinter Cell forum and i was still logged in ...?. it's been getting steadily worse over the last three days, others have noticed it, the emoticons are messed up as well, some glitch in the works?.

  4. I found a PC sp and mp demo over at techPowerUp!, i enjoy reading up on the latest of gaming and hardware at their site. Only just tried the demo, seems ok, not got into a mp match yet, tried out the lan and sp. I like it, you'll have to judge for yourselves. Some options you can turn off, like bullet time but i can't find option to turn off focus mode - slo mo in sp don't think focus mode is in mp? well i couldn't use it in lan anyway.

  5. GR was never a sim. It was a semi realistic tactical shooter.

I have great memorys even of the single player portion of the original GR . I would love for UBISOFT to bring back those mems with another GR with just slightly updated graphics nothing over the top, new maps, 9 man coop like raven shield, and most importantly it would have to have the crosshair view only, no first person weapon view or third person view, just that crosshair because it was unique to the game. I am looking forward to Ghost Recon Future Soldier though.

  6. Well that's something new, different and not been done before, i'm on about the "snap into views". You have the "Over the Shoulder view" "First person weapon View cpmplete with scope/zoom" "and "Third person cover Mode". I thought the first person weapon view was scripted / set pieces haha.

  7. You miss understand the type of gaming im looking for.

Oh sorry mate, i aint got a clue what folk really want from games?. I'm just happy playing games for fun nowadays to be honest. i loved the original [Ghost Recon] on PC for what it was back then, i thought the hardcore Ghost Recon crowd wanted hardcore realistic military gaming?,and i thought ArmA was very much like the [Ghost Recon] and ArmA is PC centric too, and it is much more hardcore and realistic than original first PC GR imho.

Is it because you want UBISOFT to make the game you are looking for?, just curious mate that's all.

  8. Added in a few screenshots .

Good stuff. The Ghosts camo is like one of the camouflaged uniforms in Splinter Cell Conviction which i think is cool, thanks for the screenshots.

Don't belittle our greivances by saying all we want is a rehash of the original.

Your sentiment and words chap not mine. Rehash ...To bring forth again in another form without significant alteration: rehashing old ideas. The ArmA games are just as good as the [Ghost Recon] and in some ways a lot better imho, but ArmA does not have the crosshair view.

Ground branch didn't get off the ground ( no pun intended ).

Was that because of lack of funds?.

  9. I think it will be a long time before there is any previews/reviews/screenshots/gameplay videos of the PC version?, i might be wrong on that though, only time will tell. But can you remember there was a 3 month delay of the PC version after the consoles GRAW retail version.

  10. Wow. I expected it to be bad. I didn't expect it to be THIS bad. Worst 'tactical' shooter ever.

No first-person view, no realism, no tactics, brain-dead AI, no LAN play, no dedicated server, only 4 players in coop, ludicrous DRM, barely average visuals for today's standards, cartoonish effects, cheesy voiceovers, two lonely hand-held weapons (one assault rifle with attached bottle opener, one sniper rifle with 'smart' no-need-to-aim ammunition), probably no modding support, being hit by a 'ground drone' minigun (@ 01:38) doesn't seem to matter much, no 'cloak' needed for complete invisibility (and lack of footprints), and the list goes on.

Ludicrous DRM? on the XBOX 360? blimey i didn't think microsoft would choose that route, that's odd. Modding support probably? on the XBOX 360 platform?. Dedicated servers for Xbox LIVE?, how does that work?.

I didn't get to see or hear the PC demo of Ghost Recon Future Soldier, i think i only saw a WIP console demo of gameplay which looks great and not too different from GRAW 1 and 2 on the XBOX 360, imho.

Future Soldier isn't a Ghost Recon game.

I saw the Ghosts and there was clearly reconnoiter in the Future Soldier demo gameplay, so yes, it's a Ghost Recon game in that respect.

I think what the hardcore fans want is Ubisoft to rehash the original first PC version of [Ghost Recon], i don't think that will ever happen?, i could be wrong?, we have yet to see anything of a PC version of Ghost Recon Future Soldier, but i presume it will have the same assets/story as the console version and maybe first person weapon view?, like GRAW did. What happened to Ground Branch?.

  11. ...Ghost Warrior features a focus mode that can be activated to slow down time and highlight potential targets.
    Lord.

    ____

    Pass.

It's one of the first things that stood out in the basic tactics guide video posted above. It kind of reminded me of F.E.A.R. 2's slo-mo, although i'm not sure if this is disabled in hard/veteran? mode?.

  12. the TC games prove everyones point.Which is that most the devs couldn't care less about our opinions.

    Not everyone.

like it or not the GR & R6 games sold well so they're successful games.

Just because a game is successful doesn't mean the game is good and the opposite is also true.

Yes, but, the GRAW series on the XBOX 360 and PC were/are great games and so too the Rainbow Six Vegas games, imho.

  13. Well as a young boy in the early sixties, we played cowboys and indians, watched Roy Roger and all the others.

Oh sorry yeah, i didn't mean anything cynical or the likes. My nephew got a copy of rdr and said it's brilliant, i couldn't even get into call of juarez, i guess i don't like the era for games, movies yes but interactive westerns i just can't get used to them, might try a demo?.

  14. Found some info on Sniper Ghost Warrior, not sure if it's PC or XBOX 360 unless stated.

IGN hands on ..."only one of the two playable characters is actually a sniper. The other missions will be played from the perspective of a more traditional soldier that enjoys his loud, automatic weapons just as much as the next guy. By alternating between these two perspectives, Sniper looks to cover all the FPS bases". I only watched on during a soldier mission which took place on a massive oilrig, and it featured all the usual running and gunning that you'd expect from an FPS, though there was definitely a need to stop behind cover when things started heating up. City Interactive also decided against the standard regenerative health mechanic that's saturated the FPS genre recently. Traditional med kits will be used instead, because the developers want players to have to make a tactical decision about going after health. Ghost Warrior features a focus mode that can be activated to slow down time and highlight potential targets. Sniper: Ghost Warrior Hands-on - PC Preview at IGN

  15. What stood out to me when reading that...

I'm more intrigued by the link-up again and looking forward to seeing the games engine. Experience the terrorist attack from the POV of a playable Russian civilian engineer at the start of the game while you get a first handle on the controls. The enemy here is not the Russians, it’s an ultranationalist faction whose corrupt leadership seizes power from the legitimate, democratically elected Russian president. Tom Clancy geopolitical mythology., last but not least ..fun, let's hope it's a fun game for the most part.

  16. I dont see your point.

I was just replying to your post that's all mate.

If you pick up a copy of Conviction, an exclusive beta invitation for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is included.

There is/was only a Ghost Recon Future Soldier multiplayer beta - limited time offer - included with the retail copy of Splinter Cell Conviction on the XBOX 360, no exclusivity per se, no gaurantee, just a secured invitation to be among the first to play.

I suggest , Take a good hard look.

I suggest you take a proper look at posts and replys

  17. Actually I just now seen the topic in the SCC forum.Im not really sure why you locked it.

    Not on the box though.
