Option in the map editor using max to tag polygons as climbable. Does not function of course. Climbing was to be apart of the game prior to the demo for the castle map, not sure what went wrong.

-
As much as the other editors in Igor look good, it is far easier and quicker to edit/create the files using notepad.
The attachments cannot be altered without the original files. Though Wombat has explained how to get the right stuff working.
Handy attachment link Wombat, not seen that before.

I haven't scripted many missions but seems like a "next player" reference would crash a dedi.
Asking more then saying.
Not sure what this is TBH. Is this is refering to scripting an actor loop? I use it all the time with no issues if so.

Cinematics work fine indoors.

Dedi servers they will not work, can make no movies, do not switch camera view.
Dedi servers show shadows more than normal servers, if you have hidden any enemy, make sure they are invincible.
FadeOut works fine on a dedi.

Oh, also I removed the ScaleX, Y, and Z
This actually scales the characters in size. I used this in Rockall on all the enemy. Quiet a simple nifty feature to give a team even more of a recognizable look.
Default size is 1.00
I used a scale from 0.90, 0.91, 0.92 etc through to 1.08, 1.09, 1.10 etc

.If you haven't noticed there are a few Battlefield 3 servers that have a huge user player count to them. These are apparently non sanctioned EA servers that are stat padding and are also getting user information without EA consent, at least that is what I gather from the official thread post in Battlelog forumsWe are aware that a number of servers have appeared and are running game modes and player counts that have not currently been seen. Please try to remain on official servers.Official servers run the following configuration
Max Players: 32
Map: Operation Metro
Mode: RUSH
Please avoid temptation and remain on these official servers while we work to have these servers dealt with.
Playing on those servers can cause your account to become compromised, stats to be altered or other issues to arise which may lead to having your account banned by EA.
There are already posts on the BF3 forums of users having there accounts banned just for joining a modded server, be warned.
Listen from 3.00 onwards

Any issues with running a browser to play? Never been keen on leaving firefox running and playing games. You can only find a game via the browser, not in game?

Label the objects as tanks, then use vehicle destroyed.

You have a working version of this at all?
Always wondered why these targets are not recognized in Igor as hit.

The defauly training mission has them reset each time you enter a zone. There is no way to script off mapobject destroyed or anything else for these. Unless the above way works?

Map objects are animated in 3dmax, and exported with the map file.

<ModelName>Marine_rifleman.chr</ModelName>
<LOD2>will_jacobs_a.chr</LOD2>
<LOD3>will_jacobs_b.chr</LOD3>
<DesertLOD1>Marine_rifleman_desert.chr</DesertLOD1>
<DesertLOD2>will_jacobs_a_desert.chr</DesertLOD2>
<DesertLOD3>will_jacobs_b_desert.chr</DesertLOD3>
<JungleLOD1>Marine_rifleman_cuba.chr</JungleLOD1>
<JungleLOD2>will_jacobs_a_cuba.chr</JungleLOD2>
<JungleLOD3>will_jacobs_b_cuba.chr</JungleLOD3>
You cannot use 1 model and then use a different model for the LOD versions.
This should look like this:
<ModelName>Marine_rifleman.chr</ModelName>
<LOD2>Marine_rifleman_a.chr</LOD2>
<LOD3>Marine_rifleman_b.chr</LOD3>
<DesertLOD1>Marine_rifleman_desert.chr</DesertLOD1>
<DesertLOD2>Marine_rifleman_a_desert.chr</DesertLOD2>
<DesertLOD3>Marine_rifleman_b_desert.chr</DesertLOD3>
<JungleLOD1>Marine_rifleman_cuba.chr</JungleLOD1>
<JungleLOD2>Marine_rifleman_a_cuba.chr</JungleLOD2>
<JungleLOD3>Marine_rifleman_b_cuba.chr</JungleLOD3>
Just make a copy of Marine_rifleman.chr and rename it to Marine_rifleman_a.chr / Marine_rifleman_b.chr etc...

Nice!

Is the main campaign up for coop?
Do we have a download link?

The heli seats are tagged as seat in the model file. In some vehicles they are tagged as shotgun. Shotgun allows the character to shoot. May be able to change that in the .pob file in a hex editor. Otherwise, the BH model files are in the download section, sure this can be fixed if needed.
Some helis in the download section, never looked if they have fire option.

Still puzzled how these map objects were scripted to follow a path.
No way to script a map object to follow a path.

-
Sure that the wolves are map objects in P2, same for the fish and birds.

Try and follow the Uninstalling/Re-installing GR topic.

The bundle has probably been saved in your user data folder.
Use the windows search function. Start / Search and type in fear.bundle. It should find it for you.

Description: SWAT Skins for Original Ghost Recon
Yes they work without desert siege and island thunder

If you have downloaded a map from here you need to put it into the ghost recon / mods folder. Then you need to activate the mod in the main menu options.

Dice community manager Daniel Matros has dropped an internet bombshell by stating that a PC built around the Battlefield 3 recommended system requirements, which were released earlier this week, will only be able to run the game at Medium settings.
The revelation came via a Twitter-based question and answer session earlier today, when Matros stated that ‘recommended is usually medium’.
When asked if a single Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB would have enough power to run the game at Ultra settings, Matros went on to say that if you were aiming for that level of detail from the Frostbite 2 engine, then you’ll probably need two GeForce GTX 580s in SLI configuration.
No mention was made of the resolutions Matros had in mind when he was making the suggestions, but it’s clear that Battlefield 3 will indeed prove challenging for today's hardware. The news is sure to have hardware manufacturers rubbing their hands with glee too, as many people are likely to need an upgrade if they want to play the game at anything approaching the highest settings.
The announcement does raise some questions about how well Battlefield 3 will fare on consoles, however. If a PC is going to need that level of grunt to run the game, it’s a fair bet that it will have to be significantly cut back to run on the current generation of consoles.

Tom you really do not need need a headset mic. You say you have a desktop mic? I have been using a desktop mic for several years now, personnel preference, I like it much more. Either way, it is completely fine for you to use for now.
My workload is slowing off over the next month, may try to get back on this weekend.

Also we play with AI backup + respawn via coop_avatar.toe file edit. I know that you can edit what kits the AI gets in there, but is there a list of kits around somewhere? I mean their file names. When I check them in the game, it only displays a number, but in the .toe file it's sometimes "jack stone 03.kit" or "nigel tunney 02.kit" and such.
Browse through the kit folder, open the kit files with notepad to see what they contain. Copy the kit name you want into your toe file. There has not been a list of kits released.

[Cant give AI move orders on the GPRA maps]
in GR (PC) - General Discussion
Posted
Some maps are made for TvT only, with this they can have floors above each other that are not tagged up for AI to navigate. This would cause an issue trying to give orders.
