  1. What pedal set are you using with a clutch?!

I have a TSW wheel and pedal set. It's not cheap... I lucked out and got it for free from a person I race online with (he bought an even more expensive wheel, an ECCI).

  2. My friend has had the 20/5 package (previously 15/2) for over a year now and loves it. He hasn't had any serious problems (speed and latency are great). I'm looking forward to it becoming available in my area.

  3. i got mine on full sim... no help at all... other then a auto clutch

I've found that I prefer to turn autoclutch off (in Papy sims). With the cars in GTR you really don't need to use the clutch while going through the gears. On upshifts you can keep your foot to the floor, the cars electronics take care of turning/cutting off things so it doesn't damage the tranny. On downshifts I just blip the throttle and go down through the gear box. I've found it may save me a few tenths over the course of a lap. I only really use the clutch if I end up in a sand trap and need to get going again, or taking off from a standing start.

I'm still kinda peeved that GTR2 and my TSW don't get along, and I've seen other reporting the same issue with other wheels (Momos, MS Sidewinders and even ECCI's).

  4. Feels the same as GTR 1 (which I didn't care for that much), only difference is prettier car models IMO. Biggest issue I have with it is I can't set my TSW to use split-axis in the game. So I've been forced to use my clutch pedal as the brake (thankfully I even have a clutch!). Problem with that is my clutch is very "twitchy" and I'm basically running with the brakes slightly applied the whole time. Also my clutch uses a different spring than my brake (ie. less resistance), so the whole feel is off from what I'm used to. :wall:

  5. Yeah I know it was a joke, but it wasn't a cool thing to do. Misleading people about a new GR:AW patch isn't cool. I didn't post up a misleading thread about the NY Rangers signing Shanny today. . . something Ranger fans wanted to see happen 12 years ago.

  6. My second "moaning and bitching" comment was because with as much abuse GRIN took here and elsewhere, just pure farkin abuse, why would any other dev be willing to step up and put their head on the chopping block?

RSE is still hanging around these forums, and I'd hazard to say they've taken more abuse then GRIN has over the past 5 years. Every game has people who hate it, every game has some sort of totally negative reaction and people slagging off on it. The GRIN guys (or any other developer) just need to know when to step away from a thread and ignore it (they probably do already), I do it all the time.

That was from November 30, 2004 stating that RS4 (now known as Lockdown) was in production for the XBox, PS, and PC. So whoever said 5 months to work on the game is severely mistaken. RSE screwed up Lockdown big time.

Except GR2 was also announced as having been started at the same time for both Xbox and PC. As we all know RSE put GR2 PC on the back burner to finish GR2 Xbox, once that was completed they picked PC back up and were working on it at the time of its cancellation. LD PC followed the same model, once console was done, resources were allocated to the PC version.

With how horrible RSE was, I would hate to see them touch anything with the Clancy name on it ever again.

Yet RSE has a title out there that is #2 on Xbox Live, you know GR:AW 360. There are alot of people out there having a lot of fun with that title. . . I think you'll see them working on Clancy titles for awhile longer.

  7. Don't hold your breath. My guess = no GR4 for PC. And with all the bitching and moaning, we have no one but ourselves to blame.

So people expressing their negative views about GR:AW would be enough for Ubi to not have a PC version of GR4? That doesn't make sense. People didn't react well to R6:LD, I would say the overall reaction was FAR worse than GR:AW PC, yet Vegas will have a PC version.

All feedback is welcome, good and bad.

Thats a quote by someone I have a good deal of respect for, if he accepts both the good and the bad about his title, why should PC be different? People have the right to express an opinion that is negative, and as long as they do it logically, to me it isn't "bitching and moaning". Yes some people go overboard, and don't say anything other than the game sucks, but, not all things negative are bad.

The negative feedback GR:AW PC is drawing, from some groups of people, gives the developers of 4 an idea where not to go with a future title. That seems like a positive to me.

The PC market draws a decent amount of revenue, and I don't think Ubi is going to ignore that. They have PC versions of the next SC and R6 on the way, I would fathom a guess there will be another PC GR as well.

If anything, negative sales figures and such may drive Ubi to do something that worked in the past; one GR for every platform. . . I think GR1 worked out pretty dang good for everyone. *runs*

  8. Step 1 to not being biased: THERE IS NO PERFECT GAME AND THERE IS NO "GOD-LIKE" GAME. With that being said, that means you should have experience with other games in the same genre before speaking.

Now, before you say anything to me, I've been a gamer for 11 years. Starting from the early FPS days of Wolf 3D, Doom 2, and Duke 3D back in 1995.

    My gamer timeline:

    PC: Throughout the entire timeline.

    PS1

    N64

    Gameboy Pocket

    Gameboy Color

    DreamCast

    Gameboy Advance

    PS2

    Xbox

    GameCube

    DS

    PSP

(This year) Xenon (For those that are not that hardcore like me, the 360.)

So, I feel I have more than enough experience to share an opinion, and NOT be slapped in the face with the Flame Bat and assumed to have started off gaming on the PS2/Xbox, like most ignorant teens are that post in gaming forums.

People are expressing their opinion which happen to differ from yours. They have that right, and your the only person in this thread I see having a hard time dealing with that. If anyone is acting immature here its you. Thats the moderator talking.

And on a personal note, I've been a gamer for 17 years and in my opinion AA can't touch GR1's adversarial gameplay, and AA it lightyears behind GR1 in the coop aspect.
