Do i take it no-one figured out how to put a Flash file in the templates? or did you opt for the static .jpg logo in the end?
Rocky preferred the static .jpg for the forums.

lol first of all, that dumptster shot was taken with ALL settings on low, and your comparing it to HL2 and all settings high. Sweet =)
Here is what a dumpster looks like, and if you did take it on setting high, you found the worst dumpster in the game possible to take a shot of, the only thing that makes graw looks bad is the lack of AA. IN MY OPINION, btw.
If you want to continue taking about dumpsters fine.

Look similar to me, only major difference is I can actually read what the stickers say on the LD ones.

You should also re-read the previous posts, the dumpster was never the focal point in John's comparsion. I even tried to illustrate that by showing a lot more than just a dumpster in the first LD screenshot I posted. Maybe I should have made the last sentence in my post bold.
The LD shots are the highest settings I can run that game with my x850XT. The GR:AW shots are the highest settings John can run GR:AW. Why can my lower end card make LD look so good, running with all the eye candy on high, while John's 7800 can't even run high textures in GR:AW? Does it make sense that the newer card, more powerful card, can't do more than mine, in GR:AW? His whole rig outclasses mine, yet he doesn't see anything better than me. And even when you force high textures, GR:AW doesn't magically become that much better looking than other games. There are other games out there that I can factually say preform better than GR:AW, which subjectively, I feel even look better. I'm not seeing anything in GR:AW that makes the hardware stress worth it.
But thats just my opinion.

It was published in hardcover in '04.

EDIT: Yikes. I made 3 posts and they are all appended to my first one. Progress I guess.

One of the new features since the upgrade. Keeps everything neat and tidy if you happen to post a few times in a row. It kinda freaks you out the first time it happens!

While you guys are taking pictures of dumpsters and comparing something you obviously dont enjoy at all, I'm playing GRAW. It's funny how you guys get more entertainment out of bashing something then actually enjoying whatever it is you enjoy. How one can enjoy a perceived failure to them is beyond me. Have fun expressing yourself...
This thread is comparing game art, nothing more. Noone is saying GR:AW as a whole is not worth playing.

4 is fine any more and it aint GR.. go play BF2
with 4 u keep in control else everyone humps off like a load of sheep.
if u play it as intended the commander controls the other... how on hell could he control 20 loose cannons
evedentually u never played GR1
Dogs
Lets see, how many COOP tourney's have I played in? Azz Cup 2003, SR2004, AS Xmas FF, SD 2004, SR 2005, Omega Cup 2004, and probably another one or two I missed. I've been playing coop for the majority of the time I've played GR1. So yeah I never played GR1 COOP with 9 guys.

The 4 limit is a major is a step backwards. Red Storm got it right with 16 players for 360...

a closeup of a dumpster, how lame. great comparison bud.
Here's a closeup of another dumpster.

And here they are side by side.

I think the one on the right looks better, don't you? His shows more than just a dumpster, you forget to metion texturing, smoothness and bunch of other things.

We used to have a chat feature, and it stopped working. When the board came back up it re-enabled and I had to turn it off, seeing as it did nothing anyway

The version of the Blog we have isn't compatible with 2.1.

GR:AW is not a good example of how to utilize the PPU. All they are doing is slapping extras on top what Havok is handling. Cell Factor is a much better example of how to use it right.

To give you an idea of the kind of stress GRAW can put on your computer, the machine we tested on, a Pentium 4 2.53GHz with 1GB of RAM and a 256MB GeForce 6800 Ultra, is considered mid-spec by the game.
I know people with better setups than what they tested with.

Why do people insist on saying this? I have this monitor, which blows all the other TFT's out of the water and I run the demo at 1440x900. Jaggies galore. Since I should upgrade, howbout pointing me to a better monitor, Lighty.
I also have jaggie at 1680x1050 and screenies to prove it. So your not the only one seeing them.

My guess is he's hinting about the SR25 SD, seeing as the game shipped with an unsilenced version.

A few missions in and I'm bored already. And sick and tired of checkpoints, this game needed quick saves. The wait wasn't worth it to me, unlike what UBI said last year when GR2 was cancelled. Maybe more thoughts later, but as it stands right now I'm throughly disappointed.
GR4 PC (if there is one) needs Red Storm back, enough said.

The customizeable gamemode system, and characters are only on 360.

Looks like that was fun.

Here's more jargon for you. Post Mod.
Nothing more to see here.

I'll take a warning for that , but if you like your job , you might consider doing it well .
No the situation worked itself out nicely. So you needed to drop it. And DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT pull the "but if you like your job , you might consider doing it well" thing with me. This is NOT my job, I do all of my "work" for this site on my free time (and at times at great personal expense), so don't talk down to me like that. Now I suggest you leave this topic alone for good, and read the forums rules once or twice.

i still have no respect for one who throws a bunch of bs just cuz they mad in a post , then completely disregards the corrections with " what is this? really ? " , and " how old are you " ...
if you dont like the game , dont play it ... i'd definitely be more happy to not see you around in-game , than to see you playin and then you'd probly stalk me around the map goin " how old are you " and " this game sux "
You need to know when to stop. Consider this a warning.

Then try contacting Ubi's support. Look in the back of the manual.

He's asking about SP cheats. And he's not the only person who likes to know them. I use them ALOT in GR1. Without knowing the dev cheats how does one debug a new mission without being shot? How does one test a complex bit of scripting without dying? SP cheats. Ask any scripter what they think of SP cheats, they'll tell you they are pretty important. So lose the high and mighty "SP cheats are for nOObs", or "learn to play right" stuff. They serve a purpose well beyond goofing off and blowing some things up on a map.

The MP campaign your thinking of are the MP missions/maps Red Storm did solely for 360.

They are using Fraps.

a lot of negative posts. not so many positive ones
in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Posted
If people do not disucss the negatives in the game how do the developers know what issues need to be adressed? I know a number of very disappointed people, myself being one of them. How do we let the folks from Red Storm (360 MP) and GRIN (PC) know what needs to be changed/added either in extra content and patches? What about future titles? If we don't discuss the negatives, and to me there are a ton in PC, how does that help anyone? If the lasting impression of the game is negative, for a big group of people (ie. TvT and COOP clans), how does that help the developers in the future? People are just going to look back at what they have done in the past (in this case GR:AW PC) and say, forget it, they already burned me once.
To me its in the best intrest of GRIN to have both postive and negative reactions to the game they produced. If the forums are just a temple to them, how does that produce any intresting discussion? How does that foster new thinking among the fans? It doesn't. All it does is create an atmosphere where those who don't agree with what the dev's have done are not welcome.
I know the dev's tend to just skip over inane ramblings and totally off the wall "this suckzors lol'zzz" etc. Thats not what I'm referring to when I'm saying negative dicussion. Well thoughtout, and respectful debate/discussions are most certainly welcome, and shouldn't be a problem for anyone.
