@ Darkstar.
This is a copy of what were posted in SRS forum earlier, where Darkstar also posted his remarks.
Let’s have a short look at the facts in this case: We (gEPIHON) received a replay taken in a friendly match at 11th of Feb 2004 between [GR] and Phoenix Division. gEPHION called me and told that there might be a problem coming up. He had a look at the replays and told me that Lazaruz cheated, using retlock and maybe Siff. After that the replays were sent t other very skilled cheat spotters. At this moment Laz were informed that there was an investigation going on. All the people who looked at the replays agreed that Laz were using retlock and maybe Siff at the replays.
At this moment gEPHION and I were talking about this case related to AzzCup. gEPHION voted for kicking Phoenix from AzzCup immediately, but I said no, cos I wanted to give Phoenix the chance to kick the cheater and go public with a statement saying that he were kicked and you did not support cheat. Cleaning your own reputation you can call it. At this moment gEPHION were looking at the 5 hours of replays from AzzCup were Laz were playing…. When he phoned me last night and told me that he was not sure if Laz cheated, but thee were a good chance of it, I decided that this is it. I made the decision of the ban from AzzCup; cos I don’t want our people wasting their time on cleaning Phoenix Division’s name, when you don’t even go public telling that you are not supporting cheating. Up to this time both gEPHION and I had told you and Mordred that we would help and support you if you needed it in you work getting Phoenix back on the track. But to our surprise you used your time trying to clean Laz and not Phoenix’s name and reputation.
So when I this morning saw the pitiable statement were your site used to be, I was convinced that it was the right decision not to use anymore time on this matter.
Please remember that the reason that you got into this mess is that Laz cheated, there is no other places to put the blame. I think that you and Phoenix Division are treated more than fair, and with a lot of patience in this matter. And besides that the AzzCup rules are pretty clear; If one player cheats, the hole team leaves.

So finally AzzCup came to an end. After playing close to 100 missions, the winner was found last night.
We are proud to present the winner of AzzCup 2003:
1. Alpha Squad 340
Runners up this first year were:
2. RSi 310
3. TG 300
4. Phoenix Division 280
5. RAW 270
6. GR.NET 250
7. [RS] 240
8. Fort Chaos 200
9. 47th. 190
10-11. 151 & =UE= 180
12. =DTF= 150
13. =MS= 130

14. +SD 110
15. HOR 100
16. SRS 80
17. [GR] 60
18. 30+ 50
19. Alpha Strike 0
20. ETE_ 0, Kicked after 3. mission.
So this is how all the teams finished until this moment. This might be chanced within the next week, since we now are checking the replay files from Phoenix Division. The reason for this is that Lazaruz were caught using retlock and maybe siff at a server last week. If we don’t find anything this will not have any effect at the point given to Phoenix Division, since he was caught after they finished playing in AzzCup.

The missions used in AzzCup will be available for download at Wednesday, were you also can read our final tournament debriefing at BAD forum and Ghostrecon.dk forum.
We owe a great thanks to Tactical Gamer for providing us with the tournament server.
We also owe great thanks to RSI, Alpha Squad, and SOTOMac for letting us use their servers.

So all the teams have played mission 3 in AzzCup.
At this mission 5 teams joined the 100 points club, and a few were very unlucky not to join it. Again it has been a pleasure to grade the teams. I must say that I’m impressed by the spirit the teams put into playing these missions, good job all of you. One team even played some music for us... Wonder who that might be...

After this mission ªlþhª™ takes the lead followed by |rsi|™ , |TG|, ^-P-^ and [RS].
You can see the leaderboard here.
Mission 3 is now released for public use, and can be downloaded here.
One team have left AzzCup during Mission 3. They did not sign in for a timeslot, or react on the mail send to them. See you next time guys.

We are looking forward to see the teams in the final mission.

So we have the first team to score 100 points in AzzCup.
A great congrats to 47th… good job guys, and 100 well earned points for you.

Talking about points, I was getting a bit worried during mission 1 when none of the teams got full score. I was wondering if the mission were too difficult, although I knew it is possible to get 100 in mission 1. When we started mission 2, and I saw a few teams getting very close to 70 or 100, I knew that this would only be a matter of time before we saw the first full house in AzzCup.

I hope to see more teams score 100 here in mission 2, and in the remaining 2 missions.

I will use this opportunity to say thanks to all the teams for your great patience, and the spirit you have shown during the tourney.

I wonder who those 6-7 teams might be?? The fact is that I personally had taked to 3 teams so the knew about AzzCup. But what they didn’t know was the precise date and time for the release. As matter of facts; only 3 people in BAD knew the date and time for the release….
But what we did was to release the intro at our forum and in this forum a few days before we opened for the opening of AzzCup. I would call this an information more than an invitation.
When all the slots was filled in 2 hours, or so we desided to open more slots up to 15 + 5 reserves. And later we desided to take in the 5 reserves… So those 20 teams that mailed the signup form to us, got in. I’m sorry that you missed it.
If we take in more reserve teams, it will be announced here and in our forum.
I saw that you asked about the invitation problem earlier. I have been offline for almost a week, so the only time I had to answer post was during my working hours, so a little late…sorry for that.

We have decided to let the reserve teams into AzzCup. This brings us up to 20 playing teams. This also means that we are going to run AzzCup at 2 servers, so when you signup for the missions remember that more then one team can play at the same time.
We welcome the five new teams: 151, =UE=, ETE_, [30+] and GRZ.

At midnight last night we opened the AzzCup tournament site. From the start we had planned a tournament with 10 teams, and 5 reserve teams. At 1:30 am CET all the slots were occupied and we opened 5 more slots. This brought us to 15 teams in the tournament, and until now 2 of the 5 reserve slots are occupied. This took us by surprise… We didn’t think that the interest would be that big. But no doubt that we are happy to see a lot of good teams signed up for the tournament.
What is going to happen now is that at Monday we’ll release the briefing for mission 1, and at the same time we’ll open the time slots for the first mission.
Thx. for your great interest.

Thx a lot for the words Jack and ARDelta

And a great thx to Alpha Squad for the work they have put into this tournament.

Great job guys

-
Congrats [GR], well done.

-
Congrats with your 100 points SeALZ.

Nice to see that you did a great job last night.
Good luck on the last misssion

-
Congrats with the 100 points SRS, well done

Good luck in the rest of the tournament.

Well well , this was a lot of nice and kind words. Thx to all of you.
I have a feeling that an eye or two will follow us at the next mission, so we will do our best to deliver some good entertainment.
This is a tournament with a lot of great teams, some of them better than us. So we are aware of that one good mission won't do the trick.
We still have a long way to go in this tournament, but we got an ok start of it.
A great thanks to Chavez for his extremly well script mission, and to the rest of Alfa Squad for this very fine tournament. You have done a pro job.
