eS, my PM inbox is full (damn requests for models/camos etc) so I won't recieve the PM. And as I stated before, I'm not entirely sure it's Portuguese brushstroke. It might be Cuban brushstroke. It's not really the correct colour to be the Portuguese brushstroke, but I can try swapping the colours.

Well english is not my native language but I'll try to be a bit clear

I cant help all of you with centcom bugs because:
1) i dont have all this bugs.
2)some of this bugs seems to be computer spec / hardware problems (Memory/Cpu usage etc...) or mod problems (Mission script or maps),i dont have talent to check this issues,same for Jay.And looks like a part of Centcom Team dont have time or are able to help us.
My only problem was about missing and size textures that' why I did a little improvment with all the textures to reduce the size and CPU usage,now my problem is fixed and same for a friend wich use an old P3.I continue to test sometimes with him to see if we can help a bit more.But i'm very limited and i couldnt help with technical issues.
I'll upload this little patch as soon as possible and i'll update it each time we or you find a problem in relation with textures,that's all what i can do.I know its nothing amazing but maybe a little part of you will enjoy a bit more this mod.
@Janie:I asked Jay to release the mod at the christmas period because i'm too busy this year to help or continue with Centcom (Same for centcom members).Nothing to do with 2006 Awards,it's always a pleasure to receive an award but thats not my/our priority.

About your question,i use a wacom but all this tips are possible with the mouse.
The vest was done with the mouse and painted with the wacom...the outline is a shadow,usually i use one to detach each elements (vest,body armor,etc...)and one to simulate drop shadows (first black circle at the bottom,in the layer panel).

Is the image you posted something you whipped up?? It's amazing! I love the shemagh. I'm sorry, I meant to ask the 50x50 that you referenced (for the webbing), was that hand made or via PS? Your PM was loud and clear

The texture was a swatch camo (portuguese lizard) wich loop very well.Remember my PM

for the vest it's handpainted...I start the shape to see if the position is good in 3ds,and when it's fine...i paint wrinkles,add details with 1 or 2 pixel brush and i use pattern for fabric details...you can add subtle dirt effects too.
when all is done you can add a layer to simulate skylight (optional):
create a new layer in "overlay" or other light mode,with low opacity (10% less or more)
use the gradient tool with a white/blue (woodland) or white/yellow (desert).
This will give you something less flat.

@ eÅ kwaad - on your .chr models, what is your method for making the webbing on the backpacks? I tried to add noise and blur, and even the texture filter, but it just doesn't look right? Any tips?

to fix this problem you need to attribute a value to each vertex/bones with 3ds.
A)value 1=100% used by bone X
B)value 0.5= 50% used by bone X and Y,(usually used to create a link between two bones or more ,example the wrist "hand bone + arm bone")
after use different values to fix little details.
In your pics...hand use value 1(hand bone) and arm use value 1(arm bone) ther's no link between this two bones,thats why you have this effect.
For the wrist in GR its a bit complex to obtain something "correct"...i prefer use gloves or sleeves to hide the problem and spend less time with it

Thx all for your support... thx to swartzs and snowfella which knew to explain better than me my decision...i would like that people dont take that for them...it's a personnal decision...i have less desire to continue beause GR dont give me a total satisfaction (graphic),some posts and emails affected my desire to mod for this game...I can understand people want to see a lot of things in GR but i cant,you must take what modders give you,we try to give the best of us to you, and indirectly you do not respect the provided ton of work.when i say "YOU" there's no name,ok Gulf?

As i said a lot of time...delta mod is just a mini mod there will be no more stuff for this mod...thus no winter skins (not interesting for me).
For personnal reasons i stop with centcom mod ... i am not sure my chr will be included.
And for the moment i'm not motivated to release CT mod,considering the great conversations which I had here I prefere to invest me in another project more interesting with mature modders.

2-if you open the rsb files (faces) you will notice i only use 4 faces ...white (brown hair +blond hair)...hispanic...and black...thus i dont think i have forget anyone...maybe asians

And because you are a bit slow...i explain you why there's no black faces for the rifleman...GR use the face.rsb to make black arms...i use the body.rsb...the body texture is 2mg + the chr models and gear = 3 mg
GR +DS + IT = 9 mg for a character which has 25% chance to appear on your screen...for the MP mode i choose white faces because the mod is inspirated by the movie and i ve followed GR atr files...i never said i was creating a real army mod...if you followed the topic i use action figures...was enough to read

the end of my post was just a personnal opinion to your sentence:
the real U.S.Army is not like that,if it was,i'm sure a lot of blacks,SAs,and others would love to be setting home and watching the war in iraq,and ahfganistan on tv.sorry i had to bring this up,but its true and just not fair to us. dry.gif

3-since time that GR. and mods were creates, and if you had put the good questions you would have avoided such a subject.
