  1. It's moving along. Ingeloop got some more work done this last week on specialist characters and some special actors. I made some revised reticles for some of the weapons and got quite a bit of scripting done the past few days on a new mission. I think by the end of November, the first 15 missions (including all multi-part missions) will be complete and ready for final beta testing.
  2. Thanks, guys! The encouragement and seeing your anticipation helps to keep me on track. XE_Joker is beta testing the completed missions right now. Maybe he will post some of his observations when he gets done.
  3. While we are posting screens... All of the winter maps in these past images are Lancer's awesome winter conversions from Winter Wonderland. This image also features a BTR and one of the Zil trucks by Blakarion. Russian troops stopped at the edge of a village while FSB investigates a murder scene in the road ahead. You ex-Army guys know how it goes...all hurry up and wait!
  4. Just about all of the character models are from original GR (with the exception of Cobaka's Russian officer character), but reskinned with modified camo and kits. Some have completely unique skins per Ingeloop's excellent work. I wish I could get a character modeler to jump onboard. There are several characters that I would like to have as unique models.
  5. Thanks for all of the support guys! UPDATE: Last week I had a little set back with a mission that had been finished but now is CTDing for unknown reasons. I still have yet to find out why and if worse comes to worse, I may need to redo that mission. There are now a total of 21 missions complete. However, ten of those are "briefing missions" and eleven are actual "action missions". Many of the missions in this mod are multi-part...Part 1 is often a briefing on one map, Part 2 is usually an execution mission, and some have a part C which is an extension of the operation onto a third map. Altogether, there will be 19 multi-part missions (which means about 36 mission files). At the current pace, I am revising my target date for completion as a Christmas release. I am really excited about some of the new inclusions lately. Several of the missions can be experienced very differently depending on what the player does during the mission. I think this will give excellent replayability. I am now finishing a mission that depending on when you kill the Chechen scout team, may result in a planned force of chechens to enter your ambush kill zone or, if you were made and the scouts got a radio message off, may result in a surprise visit by a force from a different direction. If option A happens, the campaign will unlock one mission as the next part of the operation. If option B happens, it will unlock a different mission as the next part of the operation. While most missions are pretty straight-forward, there are several like this that should give the player a very different experience the next time they play the campaign. -Architect Out
  6. Thanks. I will send Sixpence a PM and see if he has revised contact info. Everyone that I have checked with so far has had similar results from emailing TOF's listed email address on his website.
  7. Thanks! Judging from this, I don't think any of these are the issue. I am thinking that I may need to reload GR. I have been running through missions tonight and all of them seem fine now, minus one that still CTDs.

  10. Go back to the old vcl in your mission file one by one till when you will isolate the vehicle that causes problems Here I believe you made the M136 as required for the mission to play hence it's normal to have an OK button. Check into EDIT/BRIEFING Sorry mate but I can't help you more since for me it would be impossible to download your mod for betatesting ← GiWeDa, Thanks. I am going to try tonight on replacing some of the vcl files and see if that remedies that issue. As for the M136 screen, I stated it wrong. The screen is the "anti-tank recommended" but with the 'OK' button....strange.
  11. I'll run through some missions tonight and post some of the more "interesting" log entries. The problem may not be as big as I thought it was, given some of the entries I saw on logs when I tested out some other missions from an older version of the mod. But I still think it would be a good idea at this stage to have another beta tester onboard with debugging experience.
  12. I tried loading an old version of the mod that was working fine and I am still seeing some the same strangeness. I think it might be my copy of GR is corrupt. Ingeloop has been playing the revised versions of the missions without incident on a Mac. I think it would be smart at this point to get someone else with a PC also to assist in beta testing. If anyone with experience in debugging missions on a PC would like to assist, here's a chance to sample ten new missions. Please PM me if interested.
  13. I have recently made a number of changes to a number of my Chernaya Noch missions (added some new sounds, vehicles, and characters) and now I am experiencing some really wierd stuff: * Intermittent CTDs in some missions * Strange file references in my IKE.log * Certain .anm files not found * The screen that says "This mission requires a demo specialist with a M136. Do you wish to continue, Yes or No" features an OK button...not the "YES" and"No" buttons. Unfortunately, I can't isolate any one particular file that's causing the problem(s). This is really bizarre!!! Most of the missions are still playable and Ingeloop, who has been beta testing, says most are running great. But I need to get this buginess ironed out. I am hoping that someone experienced can help me ferret this problem out, otherwise I may be out of almost two months of work on this (My last backup of the mod was from two months ago)...that's three missions ago and a lot of hours of refining the previous missions. Any advice is GREATLY Appreciated!
  14. If they include silly garbage like laser tracers and glow-in-the-day enemies for the benefit of the kiddies, so be it. Make a buck. I just hope that they are smart enough to realize what is at stake for the franchise and provide serious players with the option of shutting off that junk or at least the modability to eliminate it and other distracting HUD elements altogether.
  15. I need a few civilian vehicles for some of the Chernaya Noch (CN) missions and I am hoping that someone can help out or point me in the right direction. I was planning on using TOF's Toyota SUV and VW Van from Traffic to Colombia. They were perfect for what I need, but I have been unable to reach him for several months now. I sent him several emails with no rely. Does anyone else have any vehicles like these that can be used in CN? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
  16. Yes, they are in the right folder and will play in game from playsound responses. They just wouldn't show up as environmental sounds in Igor. I'll try checking them as ambient sounds as recommended by cobaka. Thanks!
  17. I have spent a lot of time lately creating some new sounds in Adobe Audition for use in Chernaya Noch. I have imported them into the sound folder and updated the effects.xml file and they work fine when referenced from the script by playsound responses. However, most of them do not appear in Igor's sounds directory for placement as environmental sounds. This is really ticking me off, as some of the sounds I created were specifically for use as ambient artillery effects and background combat noises. I notice that this isn't just limited to my sounds, some of the sounds I want to use from the MP1 sounds folder are also not available as environmental sounds in Igor. I tried saving them at various rates and that seems to make no difference. Does anyone know why some sounds will appear in Igor and others don't and what I can do to make my sounds appear? Any help is appreciated!!!
  18. I'm just a law abiding Floridian who likes to exercise his second ammendment rights under the US constitution. The gun itself is a ###### creation...MP5 receiver, bolt group, and lower built with a MP5K-PDW front end. It's one inch longer than a true MP5K. The slight increase in weight stablizes the gun under recoil and it shoots like a dream. I had the gun built as a semi auto from a virgin SW5 receiver, making it a pistol under US laws. However, with the installation of a registered autosear in the trigger pack, it then becomes a legal machinegun. You don't have to be a C3 dealer in the US to buy a machnegun. You just have to live in a jurisdiction that is friendly to machinegun ownership, get a Sheriff or Police Chief to sign off on your paperwork, fingerprint card, and submit a $200 tax stamp payment off to ATF. Of course, you can't have a felony conviction either.
  19. I'm not aware of any other missions, but I have a three-part mission in Chernaya Noch that uses night and day versions of the Outpost.
  20. Thanks...she shoots even better than she looks. Now we just need to get her a good can to make her nice and quiet.
  21. Some more screenshots of Blaklarion's vehicles in game: Grads firing a rocket attack on a Chechen-controlled village south of Grozny. Russian SP guns at a firebase in the mountains south of Shali. Since my last post, I am two missions closer to completion. But scripting has been a bit delayed the last week or so by the arrival of my latest family member. She has had a lot of my attention at the range this past week...
  22. Lancer kindly donated some winterized maps for two missions that I needed to complete the campaign storyline. They are excellent! Some of the best winter conversions for GR that I have seen yet! Now if I can just convince him to let me use some of his other converted maps... Bitshot has also donated a winterized version of one of his new maps. He did an excellent job of texturing it to look like melting snow pack...like the first warm day after several days of snow when the large banks of snow are melting and exposing the grass underneath. It looks very realistic! The winter portion of the campaign is going to be great!
