The crashing happens right after installing v1.3. Patch v1.4 has no effect on the problem.

I've tried that. Doesn't matter what order installation goes, game stops launching after installing Island Thunder or patch v1.3.

Island Thunder is indeed v1.3. Let me try to clarify this, First, I installed Ghost Recon and then Desert Siege, worked find. Then, when I installed Island Thunder, game would not launched. Second, after a complete uninstall, I reinstalled Ghost Recon, then continued to install the patches without the mission packs. The game works fine till I install v1.3, then in does the same thing as when I installed Island Thunder.

Yeah, I should of mentioned that, sorry. Yes, I do have Desert Siege. I can install up to Desert Siege without a problem. When I install Island Thunder, however, it does as I mentioned in my first post. I've also tried installing only Ghost Recon, with no mission packs, and I get the same problem when I try to update to v1.3. So, I can install up to Desert Siege or the v1.2 patch. When I install Island Thunder or the v1.3 patch, I can't launch the game.

The problem is, this happens when I install Island Thunder or if I only install Ghost Recon by itself and patch it to v1.3. Installing v1.4 over either does not correct the problem.

I've found a few topics similar to this, but none have provided a solution. Every time I install the 1.3 patch, either by itself or through Island Thunder, The game fails to load. When I try to start, instead of the normal Ghost Recon image that displays before the game launches, I get a tiny gray box in the middle of the screen. After that, the game stats to launch as normal, but never gets to the first intro movie before crashing back to the desktop, with no error message. No IKEcrash.log is created either.
