  1. OR "drumroll" the light. You guys need to get away from the old static light. If the sun is orange the HDR will make stuff orange - if it is bleak yellow/white it will make stuff pale. The Church map is very orange and so is two other CO-OP / SP missions. Others not. Each mission and MP level got different settings. Forget about coloring the texture much - when modding think of how the material will react with the sun setting it is used in. IF you put a guy in direct sun light - he will shine. If he is in a shadow he will be colored say bluish from the radiosity bounce. Mexicans are green/black with vests in MP - and their kit don't reflect light as much as the Ghosts. There is actually a MP Mex in one of the videos from the UK event. Cool you liked the game! I'll see you on the net.
  2. The whole game has a sepia look to it. The skin / uniform etc was all different shades of dark orange. This pic kinda shows what i mean BUT he's close up. From a distance everyone looks all the same colour. Like a dark orange robot. Unfortunatley the skins on the version i played didnt look very good at all. But hey, the gameplay kicked ass and thats what we want. ← I take it you did not see the Mexican MP opponents then? If they are orange I'm a Bunny Hopper.
  3. Actually you can throw the grenade then switch with the F key and whatever weapon you want to come up comes up. you do not need to take up another grenade - but you can. better than toggles in menus as we found it. ← Hi Bo, When you press F, is the command queued? What I mean is that right when I start throwing the nade can I press F and have the soldier automatically swich to his primary when the animation allows? Or does one have to press it at a precise moment? ← Can I say semi qued? as it wont que several taps etc.
  4. Well we're some guys at the office playing TvT Domination... IT is vacation though
  5. I would just like to modify my statement on Enemy AI. Most of the enemies were intelligently seeking out cover but then unnecessarily coming out of cover completely and dieing, even though they were being fired upon. The reason for this slight hitch, in this otherwise perfect picture, is probably because IGN was playing the game on easy. I am sure that Grin is aware of this problem also and has taken the requisite steps to finetune this aspect of the AI in the harder settings. ← Hard allows no slip ups.
  6. You sound as you are gonna wet your pants over being able to talk about MP game modes. ← Yeah well SP in all honour but MP is where you can compete right
  7. Meaning. Weapons used may be limited but are all relevent to the situation that the Ghosts face in Mexico. You would not take 60 different type of weapons when 6 or 10 will do the same job. The balance and customisation is just perfect. ← I was talking about the bold part, 'idiocy of the Ghosts' . Does they mean that friend AI was not so good? ← I'm "a bit" biased but I would say he is not putting the AI on the PC down. But I could be wrong. If you look at the other previews and the guys who played it here it should be quite obvious that the AI is top notch. (OR we bribed everyone and now have to live in a shack.) Take my word for it the AIs are self aware killers that will put you down hard.
  8. Yepp ppl this is MP footage. I'm SO happy it is getting out there and SOON I can start talkin on the COOP and DOMINATION mode YEAH!

  10. There was disscussion about this a while back, i thought it was anisotropic filtering but Bo said that was kindergarten, maybe it's dof than? ← Yearh, I remember that conversation, I was therefor hoping that Bo could confirm the DOF since its quite evident in the shot. (unless its some pixelshader trick that makes a DOF-like effect) ← Yepp confirmed.
  11. Well for that console it is a very good game.
  12. GR1 gore level was just p e r f e c t !! Never saw anything so realistic i another game. ← Impacts are there. But no "GORE". As I said earlier no entrails spilling to the ground from shrapnel hits, no arms being blown off, no long agony screams or heads being torn off. No boiling, sizzling or blood pools spilling from dead bodies. I see no need for that.
  13. Nope I wont say a thing. You know what they say about silence.
  14. No gore - we had to stick to teen rating. The good thing with that is that you build a bigger MP crowd that can grow up with the game. Just as some of you did ← Big teenagers crowd doesnt sonds good to me ..... ← I think this could take care by itself. Teens are used to run and gun which comes with the lack of patience due to age in most cases. The result will be a lot of teens getting killed trying to run and gun therefore having to change their game habits. ← Yepp you said it best.
  15. No gore - we had to stick to teen rating. The good thing with that is that you build a bigger MP crowd that can grow up with the game. Just as some of you did ← Big teenagers crowd doesnt sonds good to me ..... ← The stronger the MP crowd the more support for the MP evolution in GRAW. The more sales the more we can push the brand in a tactical direction. I started playing games as a teen and that got me into making GRAW - the benefit is much larger than the downside (you simply have to pick your battles on the net thats all)
  16. Yup that seem'd very odd. Whats up whit that GRIN ? ← Yowza! Well the idea is to have the cars more fragile than realistic to spice up the firefights. Remeber that ussually cars are solid blocks of unmovable concrete or nukes about to happen in games. Here you have doors and parts flying of as bullets rip through. So if you use it for cover it will be cover for only a while - or shoot off a door and snipe through the car at unsuspecting foes. If you don't the AI will So instead of the Solid Block or Nuke or having to fire at a car for 20 min before it breaks we let it break a bit easier. Remeber that in a fight you don't have time to stand around as the guys did and aim a few clipps on the car That is up with that ← Thx Bo for clarification. I dont like it on vids but i believe it works fine in game. PS. Bo i'm begining to think that You became an GRNET adict like everyone elese here ← Yeah... I got to stop this

  19. That´s a Physics Processing Unit (PPU) card, dedicated completely to processing physics calculations trough the Physix Engine. That spares your main processor from calculating physics, dedicating itself (the main processor) entirely to the AI and the game. PS: AGEIA card video had lots of slowdowns, ahahah self-owned (sorry I just couldn´t resist) PS2: What the F.... How come didn´t the soldier reload the underbarrel G.Launcher on the AGEIA card video? (right before he shot the second 40mm grenade at the garbage dumpster) ← PS: I think they used FRAPS - not good as it usually 1/2 the framerate. PS2: God mode AND the movie is cut. Of course you have to reload between the grenades....please
  20. Family is sleeping - had a real good day outside today. Cool thing that sun. Now I'm playing some coop and checkin in on you guys. I keep getting my head shot off - but thats due to Ulf not having my back

  22. Show us where that picture of the Iranian tank was taken then. How do you know it is a mockup? If it isn't a main battle tank, then what is it? ← If you look closely at the front spindle of the "mock-up" you will see even spacing between all seven spindles-yes it looks Christie, but gun stability would be impossible when moving. The Front Spindle has to travel in 3 directions, and the close spacement between 1 and 2 make that impossible, so you would have left right yaw in gun and up down in regards to right up left down transversal of bad terrain. If you drive this tank into battle you are a target. ← Again I do not post here to Bash the Devs, I just like it real. I have been to Mexico City and you would never want to bring an MBT into the environment VISA vie the Mexican Governments purchase on 6 wheeled Panhards. Remember most if not all of their combat effective troops are quartered within ten miles of their capital (Mexco City). You need wheeled vehicles and beleive me I would rather fight MBT positions with air cover than Wheeled Vehicle's with their mobility, and 20mm's. ← But you do know the game is set in 2013 and not 2006 right? The tanks are not sold they are given to the Mexico gov as part of the agreement. Happens all the time in the arms / political trade.
