  1. Thanks Jack and foxhound you have saved me again. I had set the actors to hard so as you said they were not showing up . Handy to no about the different room thing aswell. Cheers again guys woody
  2. Hey have made my first mission and it was all working fine. I have added a few more actors to make it a bit harder and for some reason the first actors i put on the mission are in the placed elements list but do not show up on the 2d command map unless i select them. they also started disappearing in the game. I am baffled by this, i did think that maybe there is a limit to the number of actors that can be displayed at any one time. Can anyone help If this is the case can i make the actors invisible to the game world untill the actors in the start of the mission are killed hence making room for more actors at the end.   3. I now have a copy of 3ds max 7. I have got it in order to change "" live helo insertions are possible online (dedicated or p2p server) if you modify the helos in 3dsm to be type 2 (armor) instead of type 5 (cinematic helo). you can also put a crew of 10 in the helo -- 1 AI pilot and a full team of 9 real, live, human players online " The black hawk is . .pob file and i have tried to import it into 3dsm but it is unknown. Can some one please tell me where i am going wrong or if i have the right software. Also to save my next post i will ask now , how do i change the helicopter to be type 2 instead of type 5. Thanks for help again lol

Am glad to say i stuck with it after what you said and managed to get it to work perfectly. could not have done it without your suggestions only took me a couple of hours to. If you want to see it or know how i did it just contact me. Thanks again really pleased I am getting hooked on this modding Now about helicopters lol
  7. Thanks again Foxhound. Have played navy trek loads and agree it is excellent. As are all Alpha Squad mods. Thanks for your advice. I have only just started looking into modding and find it totally absorbing if not a little frustrating. I have looked at navy trek in igor but am still not sure how to place the boat on a none playable area. Will give what you suggest a go and see how i get on. Even if i cant use it as insertion with player platoon it might be handy for future mods. Maybe i will rethink my planned insertion and leave the boat thing alone for now. I might use it on my next mod and pick a map that does not have issues with the playable area. Have posted on Alpha squad forum to ask how they did it in navy trek. if i get a reply will let you no . Thanks again for help No doubt will be scratching head and asking advice again soon
  8. Hey I am trying to set up a boat insertion on map CO5_river.env I want the player platoon to insert from the bridge, north to the ford and unload. I can do the rest but i cannot place a boat on the river. It is not within the play zone (Debug/floors) . I no it can be done because i have seen it done on Alpha squad Navy Trek mission. Any help would be much appreciated

  10. Hey Have just started modding and am stuck on something simple. I want to have the player platoon trigger a plan by proximity to a zone. How do i get the player platoon to be the relevant team for the response. I think i need the script group <Default> comment Initialize player platoon Trigger event The simulation is starting responses Set player platoon to (the player controlled platoon) The trouble i have is i cannot get player platoon available for responses I think i need to get player platoon as a tag but cannot work out how Any help would be gratefully received while i still have some hair left lol
