  1. w00t! this is so exciting - can't wait to find out what its about... are you going to release a storyline/synopsis at all?

The photo that you've used to texture that 1911 is a very nice one but its upward-illuminated so could look strange in game (unless you fire it upside down like in the bourne identity  ). Seeing as the suppresor texture is downward illuminated it kinda jumps out at me.

  2. Hi All.

Welcome to the GR.NET Weapon Modelling Championships!

    by elpatricio, Earl, and Pyro_Monty

    The Format:

Every two/three weeks, a new round will be opened in the General Discussion Forum. Each round relates to one weapon type (SMG, AR, SR, LMG, HW, Pistol) and a particular weapon is chosen for you to model and texture.

    Contestants must present:

    - renders of the untextured geometry (both sides)

    - renders of the textured weapon (both sides)

    - the texture

    - vertex/face count and any other relevant details.

We are looking for origonal high quality, low-poly, efficiently textured, and proffesionally presented material.

When the round closes the judges will give each entry an overall mark out of 10. When judging, we will be treating the poly count and texture resolution as importantly as the modelling and texuring skill. A max poly count and max texture res limit will be imposed each round.

When we have a winning entry and runner up from each weapon category, they will all be put in a Weapon Mod Championships mod for the community to enjoy.

    Rules:

    - All entered material must be previously unreleased

    - Contestants can present only one entry

    - Judges can not enter

    - Contestants should obey the max poly count and texture resolution limits as marks will be deducted if the entry exceeds them.

    *catches breath*

OK, round 1 (SMGs) will opened this weekend so keep an eye out in the GR.NET Discussion forum. The weapon has already been chosen and will be anounced when the round is opened. The Judges are fixed as Me, Earl, and Pyro.

Be creative, have fun, and Good Luck! :o=

    out.

  3. Weapons mods, making them multiplayer compatible is a fairly complex process... You have to realise that you wouldn't be able to play with them online unless someone else had done the same conversion because your version would become incompatible.

It seems like too much trouble when you could download some MP weapons mods but if you still want to know please confirm.

  4. Since it doesn't tell you the canvas size, the resolution or scale won't matter.

I might be wrong, I don't really know about RGB storage but as far I can tell:

if its made from 128 possible colors - an index i have not come accross before - then each color is going to be allocated a number between 0 and 127, so...

    64 + 32 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 0 = 128

    2^7 2^6 2^5 2^4 2^3 2^2 2^1 2^0

    ...8 bits

  5. grrrrrrrrrrr im getting really ###### off everytime i download some things it says unexpected end of archive ###### is that?or is it winrar

Usually means a corrupt download... give pyro's answer a shot. You say everytime you try to download something? Are you using a download agent or anything like that?
