Have been following this one with interest lol!!!!
Have to say that none of the items mentioned are crap at all and furthermore as long as all are used appropriately and accordingly, then they all are excellent!!!
Which you actually buy or use really depends on the purpose you need any specific item of eqiuipment for ultimately, what it will or won't essentially be required to do, doesn't it?? to put it into prospective, you don't buy a 40 ton Articulated Heavy Goods Vehicle to transport a Six-Pack of Lager the same as you wouldn't use your Car to transport 8 tons of Steel!!!
If you just require a simple Network with no frills that will be used as general workstations for example and not as gaming machines etc, "The Hub" then becomes an excellent piece of kit and arguably a router under that scenario could be crap, plain uneccassary and/or overkill as has been said by Phantom!!! It may not be the right choice for FireFly in this case but for many others it is the right choice!!
Not all Comps out there are used for gaming or other highly complex Data Exchanging routines and often in such scenarios the simpler you can keep it the better and faster it can be!!!
A hub would be crap if used inappropriately, as would a Router/Switcher if used inappropriately too though!!!
They all serve a purpose for and of which they are absolutely ideal for and they all do it well under the right circumstances

Does it allow voice commands and interaction then please??.....
No one has given a definite yes or no lol????

Get clutchin that RVF up Mark hehehehe
!You can literally redline the 400's in 1st and drop the clutch and it will pop into a nice wheelie m8, the art is holdin it there
!!!!If ya can't do stoppies......How good are ya brakes?? They needin some attention etc.....If not some Braided lines and EBC or Carbon Lorraine pads would help you hehehe!!!! And ya have to get off the seat to, sit with ya nutz at the top of the tank and grip it like hell with ya knees and then haul em on, it'll back up onya soon enough hehehe

If you are playing thru UBI when asked to locate GR the first time you used the UBI software did you choose "Automatic" or "Manual"? Often if people choose Manual they get this problem!! Start again and when offered the option choose Auto
!Also Look in the General settings in the UBI software Options menu and under the General Tab make sure that "Use External IP" is checked too!!
You have to be running the same version as everyone else, if you have patched to v1.4 they also need to be patched to v1.4 too. If you are running v1.3 or something then patch to 1.4 as most people now run 1.4!!
Have you got DS & IT installed too and those joining you haven't, or any other mods installed that are required by others to join you?? If people don't have the same mods as you then it won't alow them to join!!
Also ask people what error msg they get if any when you go to host a game and they don't join you too, if they tell you any possible error msg's then it could help you source the problem
!As above, have you also tried to host a game directly by your IP not using UBI too????

DAGRM is another useful one to have and a highly popular mod in use
! Haven't got round to playing online much lately unfortunately, but the most popular version when I did last play a lot was DAGRM4.8
! No idea if that has been updated tho!!HX3 also remains quite popular too!
Undoubtedly more but that will help ya out for now lol

I've used Windows from 3.11 right thru to XP now too and I also never had any significant problems with Win ME at all either. It never let me down or gave me any problems, rarely crashed and I certainly couldn't complain about it!! I actually found it one of the more stable and reliable OS's I have used!!
It really just goes to show and continues to reiterate the fact that it's often a case these days with such a massive and diverse range of differing products available out there that some hardware just conflicts with certain software and once it happens that's it, often the only fix is to change one or other!!

Cool
!!Does it have any voice activation for commands or is it all hard input required please WK??
Not a major fan of Sub games but I remember playing one on my dads comp years ago that used voice commands to play the game
! It was pretty cool but maybe a bit ahead of it's time as it was never 100% on picking up the commands lol!! If you played using the keys tho it was a reasonable game!!Wish I could remember the name of it but to play you were always a U-Boat captain in the Battle of the Atlantic in WW2!!
Might be interested if it does have the voice commands

Have you upgraded to DirectX 9 or something too and ya AGP Card may not support it?????
Something definitely up with D3D there
(!! -
Where you choose/setup the actors themselves, underneath the check boxes for Standing, Crouched etc is one for initially hidden, is that checked????
Have you also tried it with a different trigger to startup too to see if that makes a difference, sometimes a trigger won't work for a certain event but another one will?? Try it using a TimerElapsed trigger set to 1 seconds for example and see if that helps you

You can stop the IM opening with IE by looking in the IM options and disabling the option for it to load with IE.......
Still haven't stopped it loading with ###### OE tho but I have got it so it loads disabled so it won't connect at least!
-
LOL......
London actually has large continegents of many nationalites and races as you suspected as do many other UK cities, lets hope that none read your post and take it the wrong way tho m8
!Edit.....I had 3 songs rattling round me damn empty skull that I always made up a silly lyric for cos it sounded more like it and now I want to remember em I bleedin can't rofl!! I'm never gonna get to sleep till I remember em

Try going into your internet options (either by control panel or by the tools menu in IE).....
Go to "Advanced" and if checked un-check "Enable Install on demand (Internet Explorer") so that it will ask before saving something and also check the "Notify when downloads complete" option so that it won't open any saved files automatically but ask you what to do instead, just incase you do download something malicious in the meantime so nothing actually opens automatically and causes you problems.
Hopefully that may give you the option of it asking before saving once again

It would Ruin yeh lol, he said that it was more than 1 game crashing and that was the only reason the crashlog was suggested instead as it may be more forthcoming in info relating to a problem somewhere system wise!
The Ike.log is more GR specific obviously but that too would also help agreeeeed
!!!Looking at that Crash log I've never seen one using or calling upon temp files before to run GR (like local settings, temp files, other local settings understandably, but why temps??), anyone else seen that??? Just wondering if it's not liking that as why would the game even require the use of temp files and why is it reffering to them etc??
-
DAMN.....
Thats bloody annoying when you order new kit isn't it, totally sympathise m8
!Hope ya have an exchange soon and fingers crossed for a 2nd time lucky too
! -
I've never had any problems running GR on XP and many here also run GR succesfully with XP of all versions, so doubt it's directly the problem!
However XP on some systems seems to have kickbacks on the efficiency of some software and many systems out there are completely different obviously and in rare cases it could be a factor!!
What other avenue's have you explored other than a fresh re-install to sort the problem?? Have you made any system or hardware changes recently too, even installed some new software for something??
Also have a look in your IkeCrash.log (you can find that in the \Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon directory) and see if that may highlight any clues to the problem too!! If you are unsure of how to make ues of the info in there or what it all means etc then copy its contents and paste it into a thread here and someone may be able to diagnose the problem for you

Heya Balster
!I'm UK m8......Know all too well about dodgy backs too m8 unfortunately.......
I have 4 Pins and ligament wires running between them in my lower spine to keep it all stabilised (badly injured it obviously and did a real job of it too
)!!! Had 2 lots of surgery on my lower back and countless Nerve-Block injections and even Epidurals too, but basically it's borked for life! Goes without saying that yes it is incredibly painful but I've had to give up a whole list of other hobbies and pastimes I dearly loved because of the condition, that hit me real hard as well as having the pain and problems anyway and was bloody depressing, but I was determined to keep 1 hobby and I intend to hold onto it as long as I can rofl, that being my Bikes lol!!!I've tried riding more upright bikes but because of the way things are in my back (it's a bit complicated to explain without writing an essay and don't want to bore you lol, but I know what you have to put up with depending on how bad yours is and sympathise with you). If I sit upright with all the weight right down on my lower back (if you can picture what I mean, if ya sat upright all the weight is straight down on ya lower back and ###### isn't it lol), well if I can sit forward like on Sportsbikes and weight the bars to take all the weight thru my shoulders when in a straightline at slow speeds then it takes that weight off my back and I've actually made it as and more comfortable as it can be with experimentaion with a few things on Sportsbikes lol, then obviously once you get some speed on, especially with a dubble-bubble screen fitted, the airflow holds me up at the front but it also creates a vacuum around me and pushes me gently forward too, I'm suspended in air and there's no weight left on my back at all
!I've ridden a few Super-Moto's and used to do a hell of a lot of off-roading and Greenlaning on Trials and Moto-X bikes when I was younger but I did the same thing and kinda lost interest in it and joined the Air Force lol, then my back got real bad and the possibility of taking it up again had well and truly gone, if there was one thing that really put me in pain riding it was off-road antics but I really miss it, had some great times doing that hehehe!!
Have never heard of an off-road YZF m8 lol? The ones that many all know very well are the older YZF 750, ThunderCat, ThunderAce, and newer R6, R7 and R1 all obviously the road going bikes! I am a bit of a bike freak and short of the extent of being a "Bike Spotter" rofl, there's isn't many bikes I don't know but with that I'm obviously not claiming to know it all either lol, there could well be an off-road designated YZF and obviously is as you have one
!!Would love to see a pic m8
! Hope you can dig one out soon and show ya beast off lol

Other things to think of, obviously not knowing what you have or haven't done already, but try em if ya haven't
. Did you get a copy of the Max-Blast Software with your Maxtors??Out of the 5 Maxtors I've had 2 of them were real ###### to install similar to what you describe and more or less required it to format and partition the H/D when new, they wouldn't work until I usedthe Max-Blast software (if you can't get hold of a copy somewhere convenient, post up and I'll copy the floppy I have and get it's contents to you to try too ok
), 1 of them even required it again when putting it in another computer which was a pain (but I changed the jumpers on it so that could have affected it)!Other than that instead of using the "Auto-Detect" in the BIOS, have you tried manually setting the drives up for pre-comp, Cylinders, Size etc etc blah blah. If you could get them going manually you may be able to put them back to Auto later
)!In many new BIOS's there is also an option for IDE/ATA Cable Speed, have you double checked that's also on Auto or set manually to ATA 66, 100 or 133?? If it's set to 33 then that's obviously the older option for ageing ATA33 HD's and not compatible with newer drives and nothing will get recognised lol, a few have done that and found that was the problem recently
!Keep plugging away and posting up what happens, maybe even list every trick you have tried m8, hopefully somone may know other little tricks they've had to employ over the years that you may not have tried yet and hopefully get you going again
! The only other consideration is....Is the Mobo brand new?? It's not inconcievable it could be faulty or even if you've had it a while it's shorted or something has gone belly up
....Any Warranty left on it etc and have it exchanged
?? -
yes, well done super bob rofl
......hence it says it's an example of the no spacing between when using = in php .......
As in...... first instance=second instance or so on and so forth lol!!!!!
The url is irrelevant and also why it is ;charactered out as well or it would have activated as a url, it was there as an example of trying it with no spacings around the = as often it can make a difference
! -
Have you tried small things like no spaces between characters and the = etc ??
example off here for instance......

LOL.....NM m8

Must admitt when I was fooling about with mine when I hadn't had it long (like many with a new gadget there was the obligatory complete failure to get round to reading any instructions etc rofl, we all know how to work these things without reading the book don't we hehehe!!!)......
......I had spent hours adding in tons of important info to the Data and Contacts etc and setting it all up, had done tons of other work in other places too and then had a total brainfart and wiped the whole lot by mistake rofl!!
Back to square one instantly lol
! -
LOL Crimson, it can be a scary prospect the first ever time you venture into it hehe!!
Ruin, if it does come with a Flash programme or manager then that's even easier and should make the process less likely to raise the old blood pressure hehehe (or completely drop it in some cases if it goes wrong lol)
! -
Mine did that at one point for some strange reason too lol!! I have the exact same spec card as you but certainly in my case it wasn't related to the graphics card as another post also says above in my case either! Obviously this may or may not work for you and you may have to dig deeper using the good advise others have left here, but it certainly sorted mine out in seconds thankfully
!!For some reason my H and V (Horizontal and Vertical) Positioning and Sizing had decided to adjust itself lol!! It looked perfectly normal on the Desktop, but once I started any game the monitor would black and I'd get a floating box saying "frequency is out of range" as you describe!!
I sorted it by using the monitor options, not the cards Display properties. Hopefully you've got some buttons on your monitor that you can call up certain functions with!!! Go into them and if you have one find, the "Recall" option or similarly named and use it, that will reset the monitor completely to factory settings!
Then use the other options like the horizontal and vertical and resizing to stretch the display area back out to the edges of the screen and use the positioning to keep it central till it's fully stretched and fully central!! You will also have to re-adjust the brightness and contrast you may have altered as well as they too will have been changed!!
Hope that's of more help if other avenues haven't worked out so far
! -
You could also create a Kit Restriction (.kil) file as another alternative to play around with if it appeals to you
! Create the file to only allow weapons to the specifications you require!!You have probably seen the "no grenades" restrictions etc, you can do the same but only allow weapons with a single rate of fire!! The obvious downside is that unless you have DAGRM or another weapon add-on installed, then you may not have much choice left over rofl, and to a certain degree it may only leave a choice of Sniper rifles really!!
But.....If you are wanting a low bandwidth option and limiting weapons to no Full-Auto, then the Sniper Rifle is probably the next best choice anyway
!The above idea is also good too, but you'd have to change a lot of files to accomplish it and ultimately you'd want to make a seperate mod folder too as you probably won't want to change all of your normal weapons in place permanantly or they'll also be affected in offline play and limited there too all of the time!! Create a restriction kit and you only need to create/change one
!Both ways will have slight Pro's and Con's but essentially both will work lol

LOL,
Found an old pic of the ZX6-R I had.....The hulking great BMW K1100-LT behind it is my dads bike (ex-Copper, what do you expect rofl)!! Out of interest have you also considered a ZX6-R Scarface?? This years '03 ZX6-R and especially the ZX6-RR are a little extreme like the other Sports 600's, but the 2002 ZX6-R and before are a bit more like the CBR600F in many respects but still look more like the Focused bikes like the GSX-R and R6 etc, they handle a lot better than the CBR600F too
! Well worth a test ride on one too if you like them
! Here's pic, this one is a '99 ZX6-R (G2)
