Spyware.....(a possible anyway??)

LMAO...... I haven't edited the above as it may be useful if anyone else asks the same question hehehe!!! Typically I couldn't find any info before asking so had to resort to asking, but then finally found some info just after posting rofl ! I knew of the usual spyware's like Gator, Trickler and the Kazaa ###### etc but had never come across FSG.exe.....I finally found out that this damn FSG.exe renames itself FROM the Trickler.exe (the crafty ###### lol), so Adaware was correct in seeing it as spyware and I am shot of the piece of crap finally ! Hopefully people will read both posts -
Still not had Win XP long and I can't seem to determine if an app on my system is spyware of some kind for definite or is actually a critical system file ! I've certainly not ever seen it on WinME or even 98(SE) either but obviously there are the differences lol! Lavasoft Adaware for one insists it is spyware, but like many I am usually careful before deleting the not so obvious spyware apps off my system without double checking and I don;t take Adaware at 100% face value either...... I have this FSG.exe app that seems to serve no purpose and as explained Adaware see's as spyware.....

Have a look at my signature for rough sys specs...... Anyway, the board and card listed both run at AGP x8 and it recently benchmarked with 3DMark 2001 Pro at 13,657 and stunned the hell outta me!! Admittedly that was with a couple of settings tweaked down but only a couple, if I whack them all right up then it scores around 12,800 everytime ! No complaints here lol ! I was used to averaging about 4000 on an Elsa Gladiac Ti516 64mb at AGP x4 also using 3DMark 2001 Pro, so the difference is certainly worth the change and the 4800 is ultimately gonna be better than the 4200 too (or at le

The answer is yes and no as Jack has said lol ! No, you can't list anymore than 4 at the start of the game where the objectives are usually listed, but you could put 2 on one line or something lol (the downside to that is once immersed ingame many people may forget what the objectives are lol)! Otherwise the way to do it is to list the 4 objectives at the start, and after each objective is completed script the mission so that the objectives are cleared after each one in the normal way. Then maybe after 3 or even all 4 are completed, use the <AddObjective> response tag to initiate

Hey SGT Spear, Photoshop elements will allow you to do some things but only at a basic level, if anything is layered then ya stuffed to work with the .RSB's:(! I have a full copy of Elements as well and managed to change some things but was in the same situation you are in now lol, it wasn't long before I had to track down the full Photoshop 7 to get anywhere hehehe ! LOL.....Success at last hehehehe ! At first I still couldn't get it working so I went back to square one and thought, "why should it need 2 or 3 seperate entries or trigger events etc to achieve 1 damn thing lol"??!! So, I have just created the 1 trigger event with just 3 responses and it's finally working spot on and that was all that was required ! In the end I had another go with <CompanyScoreIncrement> too and played with other variables to go with that response, instead of using <CounterIncrement> and voila, there it was hehehe!! Yours seems to be scripted to show an actual Msg Box (as per ya screen shots) which as previously said I won't use anyway as thats your idea or way of doing it and I'm not going to rip that from your work and it wasn't what I actually was after anyway lol, I was just stuck on the initial scripting from it but you have got me back on track ! As far as your latest IKE.log goes, except those 3 references to the gun node object..... To start making some headway a little on this problem why don't ya make a Floppy drive a priority as well lol???? Depending on ya location it's going to cost you all of £8 or $11 max to get a new one and you might start getting somewhere a little quicker at least ! Also, when you said you salvaged ya D: Drive, obviously ya C: drive died or summat yeh?? When you changed the D: over to the primary master did it already have an OS installed onto it as well as the OS on the assumed dead C: drive for Dual boot purposes etc?..... Yup, thats the other main one I've been trying and focusing on Apollo.... Geees......I agree, WOW lol...... Hats off to those brave enuff to run XP Pro on a P2 with a TNT lol. An Athlon 800 with a TNT2 32 I had used to drive me absolutely bloody nuts with Win ME, let alone thinking of sticking any XP version on it lol (if it existed then anyway hehehe) !

LOL, Doubt the guy has installed any mods as yet, he's saying he's totally new to the game and only just installed it and mentioning mods could just confuse the matter more !! Compman, as you start out saving frequently is the best way to progress with these sort of games, learning each map layout and enemy positions takes time for the most hardened gamers and they will also use frequent saves till they have learnt a map thoroughly enough that they can go thru the whole thing without saving once ! Would also be interested in the general subject for any info..... As well as music files can you also create your own voice files for use ingame too??? I recorded a couple to use in custom misions I have made and it doesn't cause a crash or anything, but they just aren't heard at all?? Once recorded I converted them to the suitable bitrate and quality ect and still no joy. To force them to work I scripted in a timer to play a sound (rather than it only activating if in a certain area ingame etc) and the timers are activating and a volume level for them to play at is set etc, but the

Sorry to hear you have had no joy yet........ To know if it is UBI before you totally get rid of it and it may not be required though (unless you want to anyway lol). Have you tried using a direct connection via IP to a host you may be buddies with to see if it does it under that scenario too???? If it does it will at least tell you you may need to look in an area other than UBI itself! If more people played this game on Gamespy for example though, I'd play it over there as UBI isn't the most stable server about whether under 98, ME or XP unfortunately! Does the full screen NV mod you use show to other players as being installed or something then?? Or are you just being super honest for the league's lol???? Not sure which full screen mod you have and I don't wish to upset anyone you play in league's against and ruffle their feathers or even aid you in cheating either lol. But PURELY FYI the full screen mod I have when installed doesn't notify anyone else of it's presence and the only way anyone would actually know you were using it is if you told them! Further to last post.....They replied and are working on it but I have found one way round it for anyone who may read this with a similar problem and want a temp or even permanent fix. It's not what I wanted to do and was actually trying to avoid it but I have changed the Mouse and Keyboard over from PS/2 and whacked em on USB instead and it's cleared that problem up once the drivers go in lol ! Would have prefered them on PS/2 but USB will have to do !

As another thing just to try out, I had a similar problem on my old Geforce 2 Ti516 64mb GFX card, I thought that that would be enough to have the GFX options whacked right up to full, which it was whilst in single player offline. As soon as I started a multiplayer game it would either crash and freeze the game solid or CTD. Try lowering a few GFX settings in the GR options and see if that gets you some stability too, then gradually up them and see at which point the problem returns. I'm not saying it is the cause but after having had the same thing and trying this it worked around it u

Have you been playing on a host server that uses server side mods and maps before you checked the error log??? I only ask as if you are playing server side maps and mods, then locally the files that are listed as missing obviously wouldn;t be present and the many of the one's that have been logged certainly aren't standard GR files (some are, many aren't), they look by the name of them to be files made by a modder etc ! You won't get CTD under these circumstances as obviously if playing on a server using server side mods and installations GR dloads the required data to the temp file to a

Still no joy with the drivers in, but if I remove them it all operates fine, it just means I can't program the thumb and wheel buttons as you normally would with the Logitech software. Strangely enough tho, WITHOUT the Logitech drivers and Mouseware installed I can assign the thumb button to any function in GR itself and it also works with TS and other apps that I can assign a task to it as well rofl!!! K...... Had the game working fine for months with Win ME with barely any undue problems to speak of. I Make my own mods for GR and qualified a long time ago as a network admin for Win 98 and ME so know them very well and how to sort problems on them......The problem now......... I have just finally changed to XP (which I really didn;t want to do lol, and still wish I hadn;t now rofl) and now my Logitech Cordless Optical wheel mouse won't operate the zoom properly but only within GR itself, it's fine in other apps and on the desktop etc!!
