  1. Probbaly not in the current state as it works by seeing what Keys you press, but i can see that can only work for yourself, i dont think there is a way at the moment to see what another player is pressing.

However, what can be done in VBS i'm sure will be able to be done in AA, and so that measn the possibilities of AAR/MARS/Observor which certainly would let you watch other players.

As far as i know, nothing like that is going to be included with Armed Assault, but the commands should be there to allow the community to make something similiar as they (read as Kegeyts) have done all sorts of very technical stuff before (DXDLL, etc).

  2. Production numbers are higher for PS1 and PS2 in their initial years.

Does this mean they will be producing more PS1 and 2's than PS3's at first, or that when PS1 and 2 were released they were producing more??

This is good news for Xbox though i guess. Not sure though as although it means PS3 is still quite a way off, people now at least know when its gonna be released??

  3. Thanks guys. in the end i moved north, took out some patrols around trosky, and then moved in to get in a t80 and gunned down the ruins guys. Unfortuantly some crews got in 2 of the t72s and i had to waste those, but had a BMP and T72 left for my AI to get into. Moved to the RV, my t80 doing the works on the t72 and BMP heading up the hill towards us, and also the inf. patrol, and got to the RV pretty easy. My AI unfortunatly took a damn long time to reach the RV to complete the mission. Thanks to the hidden selection menu however i just 4x the speed (thats not cheating... is it? ) and the ai got there in the end.

I'm starting to like the Res campaign. I remember that on Flashpoint PC i was not a fan of the Res one, only CWC, but that was 2 or 3 years ago since last played the campaigns (only multiplayer on PC version now), and now i am starting to like it. CWC i still prefer though. VERY impressed by Xbox version in general. Roll on AA.

  4. I dont have Elite as i have Flashpoint PC and dont have Xbox Live to play Elite online, however those with it may be interested in this thread on the BI Forums:

I think it is the 3rd page in where some kind person has found out and describes how to unlock new features. Not sure what exactly is unlocked, but one part is new objects for the Mission Editor, including buildings, so you can build your own towns via the Mission Editor, and apprently these missions will work on Live as well.

  5. To add to el nin foxhound's post, the Severe Climate module is the same as Terrain 2 - just a different name.

And as for the mission editing - i reckon you can get into it pretty fast, as although you wont be able to make advanced missions at start, you can do basic stuff pretty quick, and soon get the hang of it. I've been adding to a file for about a year now or things i have picked up, which you can view here. Would be great if people could add to it. Not complicated stuff, just general things which you have found helpful (my email is at top of that page to send the things to).

  6. I havn't seen this before, and to my knowlege it hasn't been posted on here so far either, but there are some screens and info on the new modules on CTCorp website:

US Army National Guard (possibly the same as the USArmy1 Pack)

    ngb01.jpg

Coalescent’s virtual training lab located in Orlando Florida designed and delivered a complete US Army “add-on” pack for the VBS1™ virtual training system. The simulation pack extends the VBS1™ simulation with Army Guard uniforms, tactics, weapons, terrains and current treat models.

Our new US Army Add-on simulation pack which contains unique models, weapons and scripted tactics for the U.S. Army National Guard.

    NBC Module

    usmc_nbcd.jpg

Developed under sponsorship by the US Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) and the Joint Chemical Defense school in Ft Leonard Wood, MO, Coalescent researched and documented NBCD training requirements, developed 3-D models for individual protective equipment (IPE), chemical agent detectors, and other specialized USMC fielded equipment. From this array of specialized models and behaviors, Coalescent developed detailed scenarios for highly specialized training and is working with the fleet users group for additional test and evaluation. Specific new interactive training capabilities include the test and proper operation of chemical agent detectors, the detection and marking of contaminated areas in the virtual terrain, and virtual performance of the proper steps for decontamination. This program is an excellent example demonstrating the inherent flexibility of the VBS1 platform for use in diverse free-play synthetic cognitive skills training.

I dont know how much apply's to the USArmy1 and NBC module we will be able to get.

EDIT: And also check this page out for info on the Emergency modules, which now seem to be a new VBS (VIMS) rather than extentsions ontop of current VBS.

  7. This sounds a great idea, and i'm all up for the playing and, if you still need more people, mission making.

In regards to the problem of making the missions within the time frame (a week i guess if the continuation idea would go ahead), maybe it would be better to have two campaigns on the go, playing a mission from one of them every-other-week, and a mission from the second campaign in the week between. The trouble is this might wreck the whole continuation idea, as who's gonna remember what they did two weeks ago?

    OR

Maybe so it is the same campaign, but one week you play as BluFor, the next week as OpFor, then its a new mission as BluFor, then as OpFor, etc. Might get boring playing the same sort of mission again but from a different angle though, unless you only include part of the previous BluFor mission in the OpFor version, and add something extra in.

  8. I really like this island. Its far better than Desert Map, with more towns/village, and what is there is larger too, making for bigger village battles. The bases will add more to mission posibilities too, and there is more vegetation than on T2's Desert Map, so it breaks up the island, but there are still vast baren areas for tank missions.

    Very nice island.

Here are some pictures for those of you that are yet to download the map:

  9. Seems to be the ONS Leopard yeah, and INQ M113 too. Dont think using INQ's works well as it was for Nam instead of modern day, so stuff like riding ontop of it doesn't look realistic in VBS. The cars textures look a bit blocky too, prefered them to look more like the Leopard's. The troops are OK, but again, the textures let them down i think.

Overall i like the pack, but i dont think i'll use it when theres other, higher quality, stuff around.

You'd think they would have given credit to ONS too :o
