  1. I want better camo!

maybe even some way of chosing individual camo % for the gile suits.

each player being able to choose their camo and kit, ie more personal touch but still within the Team colours/uniforms as it were

[does a guy in desert camo, show up as a dark speck in the distance while lying on sand!?]

better vegetation to sneak about it.

If I go in muddy water, i should look muddy etc

    rain!

    snow!

    effecting visability

more industrial/city like scapes with areas to explore, i'm thinking like 'enemy at the gate' [film]

Sink - soft surfaces, what i mean, if youre lying in sand you should sink into it, that might be too unpractical and something for mega next generation machines :D - and related is physics, rumble and stuff that is all over the place. dust - running through dust will give you away, foot prints, ahahha tracks through wet puddles that fade away. or boot prints in the mud.

    camo

    lol

    I know tall orders

one of my fav maps are redux BTW

  2. the enemy would just appear behind you,

actually this happened to me playing GR2:SS, on the map with all the buildings, what is it business district or sumat? basically a city. Whilst playing co-op, theres a section where you gointo this court yard. So i clear out all the enemies arround it and enter from the back knowing I've cleared the area, once I go down the stairs suddenly theyre all over me, coming from an area i know is covered by a team mate, who effectivly would see them coming up the road, or from a dead end... happened twice, the first time i thought i mus tof missed a hidden group, but the second time i made sure it was clear. and there they appeared.

    BOOOO! :D:o=

  3. I'm with audiolab. The third person BS makes no sense whatsoever. GR made its name by being "one of the best, if not THE best tactical shooter of all time" (quote from =UE=Smokin. :P ). Now I don't think that 8 years of army technology can put you out-of-the-body. Third person gives an insane advantage. In GR1, you would slowly crawl over the hill or peek around a corner. Why risk your life when you could plop into third-person and not even have to risk anything.

Like I said, pure BS. I have no idea why they ever thought that would be "cool" or "realistic" or whatever the hell else they might think it might do.

    We shall see.

its very simple. in the real world you are aware of your immediate surroundings...not a 2D square view placed in front of your eyes, showing a pseudo 3D world. So the first person view is in fact very un-realistic. Yes third person is not realistic..but it can be argued that it does provide a better sense of your surroundings, closer akin to what real life is like than what a 1st person view does.

  4. hey canne make a request for the next DLC :D

i really like that post that kid put up about the game type 'The Mole'

maybe the designers can program a version of that game.

    http://community.teamxbox.com/xbox/1070/Gh...-2-The-Mole/p1/

with the changes, that the mole is selected at random, friendlies are immune for the 'x' time limit. the radar is off by default...and points are awarded....and it can be played as co-op or squad (with a mole on each team)

    sumat of that ilk

  5. i was reading on the net and i came across a way to play on xbox live that is different than the preset games. its caled "the mole". u start out with a squad lms and the host picks 1 person on both teams to be "the mole". when the game start... everyone plays as normal except for these 2 guys... they are secretly working for the opposite team...trying to eliminate teammates discreetly without being caught. u gotta identify the mole! i wish i had the link because while typing this i am now wondering how you are supposed to not know who the mole is after he kills u and his name pops up... o well! :)

NVM GUYS i found the link...check it out for urselves!

    http://community.teamxbox.com/xbox/1070/Gh...-2-The-Mole/p1/

i like the idea of this game type...

would good if they can program this into the game for the next DLC

with the changes, that the mole is selected at random, friendlies are immune for the 'x' time limit. the radar is off by default...and points are awarded....and it can be played as co-op or squad (with a mole on each team)

  6. ya i just found out that they are using the m8's for sure...but i just cant see how u could be any accurate at all staring at a small screen like that...cool idea tho.....does anyone know how big that screen actually is in real life?

I hear its a 42inch Widescreen LCD, the next generation is gonna impliment a projector screen once they sort out the RGB configurations for snow combat.

  7. You say a PC is designed for gaming..i say it is not. It became designed to accommodate gaming, not specifically for it. you're argument lay in that it has always come with a dedicated game port. I know for a fact, that is not true...that came in later years..as the PC became used for games. When the PC was first in homes, games were rare. Your whole argument is stupid, when its clear a PC is for general computing...not gaming parse.

an Xbox is a console...you say its a PC...your argument is in the way it is built, presumable you mean its inners, the hardware...well that isn't the whole story is it. The Xbox is not intended to be used for personal computing...without modification its impossible, without the right OS in the background how can you run even the simplest of general software...without the right input device you cant even write. The Xbox's purpose is to run games, and only games and the ilk. It is designed to be plugged into a TV, to be interfaced with using gamepads and the like...in short it is not designed to do my accounts or for me to design 3D graphics...or produce music...or create art for print and hundred other computer tasks. Sure it may have the guts underneath that could do it...but not without a some ###### about to make it worthwhile.

An Xbox shares the same tech as modern PC's, but that in itself does not make it a PC.

All consoles are computers...they can do everything a computer can do...but without the right support from...compatible OS's and software to the correct interfaces they become redundant in that task.

I disagree with you and I am right, I am a professional in the area of product design/marketing, and have been computing and gaming since the 80's.

  8. Also, you said the PC doesn't have a designated game controller?  Well, I beg to differ.  From the time the PC made it into homes, it has had a designated controller(s) and a dedicated game port, right up until USB came out.  It was called in fact, a GAME CONTROLLER.  A designated port on the mobo or sound card to hook up either a JOYSTICK or a GAME PAD just like the XBOX.

Funny that, eh?  The PC never designed for gaming, but has always come with a dedicated port for it.  Who knew?

    LOL

not true mate...when IBM made their PC back in the day (all modern day PC's are IBM compatible's) the only place you would find a port for a game controller would be on an Atari.

All you jokers dont know what youre talkng about.

a PC by definition is a 'personal' 'computer'...ie a computer made for computing in the home, small and cheap enough for the average lamen to afford. There used to be many PC's from many manufactorers all vying for your hard erned cash. From Sinclair, IBM, Archmedies, Amstrad, GoldStar, Commodor, Apple and many more. Now zoom to 2004-5, today PC's are result of the old computer wars...who won? IBM...all modern PC are evolved from IBM archtecture...how did they win? Microsoft! MS lil plan was in the invention of some earlly business software, specificly for doing accounts and that sort of thing...very cutting edge back in the day. They made a deal with IBM...to bundle their software with their Computers...so every IBM 'PC' came bundled with the software that everyone who wanted a PC in the first place wanted to use.

so you end up with a situation where everyone wants to run accounts on MS software...that only runs on IBM compatible PC's...to top it of, no one else can compete..cos either their hardware dosnt have compareable software..or its not free...and beside the MS version was better and more widespread.

    all other PC's died...accept of course Apple...who marketed a differnt group...Graphic Designers.

So all those other PC makers had to either go or make IBM compatible PC's

    ----

you still see this stratigy today with the bundled MS software, making it imposible for other software companies to get a foothold....and its become almost like you view the software and hardware as one in the same...you think PC...you think MS...dont ya!

    back to the Xbox....

it is not a PC...it is a game consol...just because there are simularites in hardware with the XBox and IBM compatible PC's does not make it a PC...

all consols, arcade machines, handheld games like Gameboys...even calculators...are all COMPUTERS!...that does not make it a PC...because it is not a 'personal' 'computer' bult for general cumputing needs...whatever they may be...be it doing accounts, designing magazines, 3D graphics...playing games!

    ---

that said and done...I dont give a rats arze...I'm buying that Keyboard and mouse adapter for my Xbox...to enhance my online playing of GR2 :o=

I own a PC and an Apple MAC and G4 Titanium laptop...I bought the Xbox to play games on, not to do my accounts ;)

  9. Has anyone lazed the bridge in mission 10 (I think). I get to the top of the ridge and use the weapon to target the bridge. The commander then comes on and says I need to reaquire the target. However it won't do anything when I try to reaquire it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

you need to hold the laser there for a while for the lock on...

  10. I played a multiplayer match last night on Live. Sharp shooter with spawns in Peninsula I think it was. The game host obviously new the map very well and had his tactics sorted. Cheekily saying in the lobby you'll need the help, by moving lots of players to the opposing team. The team I was playing on, they had like 3 or 4 players to our 10+. Anyway no doubt soon enough they had our spawn covered...bombing the area with grenades, rockets etc. any attempt to get out the area and you where downed. Its not like they where camping as such, but pretty much had all exits coverd ( two bridges )...and now and then coming in close for a bit of a fire fight. What got my goat, is that after sussing this was the case. I just watched as our team ran round like headless chickens, trying to up their own kills and just getting slaughtered, running into bombing zones even after seeing several team mates get killed. I kept saying just keep the bridges covered, let them come to us, use bombs, granades and covering fire...work as a team...

Still no hope, they just continued to be cannon fodder, no communication, no team work. I think the top guy on the other side knocked up 38 kills or something.

  11. I would love to get in some games with some true Ghosts.  I've played GR on pc up until GR2 came out for XBOX and thought I would try it.  I'm disheartened to say the least.  In every game online I've been in so far, it's been run and gun.  I'd love to play with some good GR2 players who play the game with strategy.  Please add me to your friends list- tn dave

yeah I agree, been playing this for the past few days online...I love it, but it does pizz me off the way some people play it.

I've also fell victum to the killin when spawning,,,what a ###### I tell ya, the fella got me 3 times in a row...man i was yellin abuse at this tosser...
