  12. I've had the DMA to PIO problem before, I couldnt honestly say whether I had anything installed with starforce on at the time but to say that your computer runs slow is something else, its a right ###### to get back the first time it happens and you cant figure out why everything seems to be going slow either.
  13. I use that method and I've got no ads coming through now, heres how you do it go to your Windows\system32\drivers\etc\ folder there will be a file there called hosts, right click on it and open, when it asks what you want to open it with select notepad, add the madserver bits to it so it looks like this then save it.
  14. I've been getting good results from maxell dvd-r 8x discs and not had any problems with them either.
  15. There was an interview with the project manager on ofp.info a while back http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?special=a...nterview_1.html ignore the shiny tank picture, its an old beta and its much different now as you can see here http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=9618 more screenshots here and its looking really nice, wonder what sort of rig we'll need to get the best out of it as flashpoint still hammers the cpu to get the best out of it. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=9595

  17. Well dont forget Rockys post about the new samsung CRT High Def telly http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=31878 If I could get a high def crt over and lcd I would. You might want to look for a HDMI lead too which you'll need if you want to watch SKY in high def so make sure the telly has one.
  18. If it does take off I'm wondering how long until its incorporated onto graphics cards themselves? If thats possible that is.

  20. i'll run some framerate tests a bit later today mate and get back to you, but I was getting just under 10,000 on 3dmark 2005 with an XP3700 64bit chip and 2 gig ram.
  21. Mines on a sticker on the front of the manual mate.
  22. I went from a 6600GT to a 7800GTX and it makes a hell of a difference, it all boils down to how desperately you want/need to make that upgrade, make a list of the cards you'd like, find some good prices for them and watch the prices for the next month, while thats happening the price could drop and the card manufacturers might announce some new stuff which could drive the price of the 7900's down even further, I like waiting, it makes things cheaper
  23. There were a pile of scripts over here, for Greasemonkey and Trixie, http://www.bhelpuri.net/Trixie/Trixie.htm looks like the sites down for a bit at the moment though
