  1. Thank God for that, next question, wonder if they'll release patches to get rid of starforce in their existing lineup?
  2. We could always post the direct link for the video file, that would save a few clips round the earole
  3. Bloke here had some problems with his scart setup but they sorted him out in this thread http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=27811 Pity you didnt get one of the cheap dvd players from Lidl mate, 20 quid and its got component output, the component leads and optical cable I bought came to 50 quid but its worth it for the better sound, I wouldnt like to say whether the picture is 50 quid better than a free scart cable but at least its one less scart socket going into the telly.
  4. I got a Scart splitter box and ended up taking the damned thing back, apparently there are issues with them when you use them with cable boxes, so now I've got a new telly with more inputs than you can shake a stick at.
  5. I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling NERO, use the NERO cleaning tool http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninsta...ol-Bundle.shtml and I'd use crapcleaner to get rid of any nero registry entries too, reboot, reinstall NERO and take it from there.
  6. Typical they havent got my card, 7800GTX 512meg, wonder where that would come on the chart?
  7. Cant see any problems with the way you installed the cpu, temps dont seem to be high, check in the bios to see what temp its set at to cut out, it might be set way too low. I'd also try your ram sticks one at a time, I had a real swine of a time installing windows on the kids pc, turns out it was a dodgy stick of ram, I'm not saying that this is your problem but it doesnt hurt to rule it out. If the battery is on the way out you should be able to see that cos the date in the bios would keep resetting itself, it'll never keep a current date. Give it another try mate.
  8. Must admit I read his little article on sniping wondering how much credibility it had, the kind of blokes who actually do this stuff on here usually add to posts if they have experience to, not start that kind of post, ah well looks like the door hit him on the ###### on his way out.
  9. well if its an album you can edit them altogether, select all the tracks from one album, right click and go to properties, you can fill in the artist and album title for all of them in one go then, then its just filling in the track name for each one but if you copy and paste the filename which is usually the track title it wont take long.
  10. Thanks for the review guys, sounds more and more intriguing and I cant wait to get my hands on it now.
  11. You might need to right click on the mp3 track and edit the properties in there, I think thats where it'll get the data from, not the filename of the track.
  12. Calius, the kids have it running on my old pc mate, XP3000+, GF6600GT 128, 512meg ram and it runs pretty well, all settings on medium and its only the outdoors areas that get a bit jerky when you're on a horse belting through the scenery, the game really really sucks you in, you could spend months in it without even looking at the main quest, the creatures level up as you do too, so to start with you'll meet bandits and wolves in the outside world then later on you'll meet timber wolves and wild boars and it never feels like its easy, once you meet up with a few you have to play it careful or you're dead meat, I think you could probably spend the better part of 3 months just burgling the houses in one of the towns and if you've joined the thieves guild you've got somewhere to offload your illgotten gains mind you theres always a chance that you'll get changed into a vampire....
  13. Yep, its bloody massive! I've never had so much fun just wandering around the landscape in a game watching the sun go down in the game and enjoying the view.
  14. You dont steal things off the back of lorries, tut tut young man, things "fall" off the back of lorries
  15. Depends how loud you have the sound up mate, the missus can still hear the sound when she's sitting about 8ft away from me but I dont have them up that loud anyway so I can hear when she demands her cup of tea, if you crank them up though you can feel them vibrating, when something explodes next to you and you've got it on loud its not just your ears that let you know, your whole spine tingles. I get more complaints about talking to people on teamspeak than I do about the sound from the headphones
  16. Glad you got it working in the end mate, result woohooo
  17. damn damn and thrice damn, i'm sure i've done this before with a 98 boot disc, slapped the ###### in, navigated to the i386 folder on the cd then ran the winnt.exe file and bobs your uncle, it has been a while though and i've been to sleep since then so apologies if it didnt work.
  18. Full instructions for installing xp from a floppy boot disk here mate http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html
  19. This is what I'm thinking about mate, will the devs move on and expect the gamers to buy vista or will they carry on developing for the gamers with xp, lets face it we havent seen any 64 bit only versions of games just yet have we? There was a bit of a tirade when you had to get a new graphics card to play BF2 and as far as I'm aware there are no DX10 cards out at the moment, I built a new rig around xmas and spent 500 quid on a graphics card, theres no way in hell I'm upgrading that for 2 years at least so if something comes out and its DX10 compatible only then its tough, it wont be going on my system no matter how good it is.
  20. absolutely marvellous mate, i'm recommending you for immediate relocation to NASA
  21. What I think will be really interesting is will developers actually bother making games for vista? with the exception of Halo 3 that is, most gamers use XP or below at the moment and with the hardware requirements of vista I cant see that many jumping ship too soon, so will the devs work to the market place or will Sir Bill influence them towards developing towards vista to encourage us to jump ship?
  22. I got some of these headphones Calius, http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...0125164-8133459 turns out I dropped lucky, theres a usb version but the ones I bought have a control box and link in to the 3.5 jackplugs in the soundcard and the control box allows you to link in a 5.1 speaker system if you have one, local shop was selling off Videologic ZXR500's for 25 quid so when the missus is away the speakers are on and when Coronation Street is on I use the medusa's, sound is excellent in them mate.
  23. There is a way around this in the form of a small program called hamachi http://www.hamachi.cc/
  24. There are two versions as well, one with a USB connection, one with standard 3.5mm jackplugs, if you've got a 5.1 speaker setup go for the 3.5 jackplug version cos it comes with a controller box where you can plug in your speakers too then you can run though either the speakers or the headphones without messing around at the back of your pc to change the leads over, theres a nice diagram here showing you what I mean http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic...et/display.html
